Adam and Katies 10/2/2010 SBP/Attic/?? ~ brainstorming!

Sorry hun i was in the middle of posting and didn't see that you commented too!
I know... i'm going back and forth on what i want in my hair. :sad2: Its that whole indecisive bride thing again.
Part of me really wants the fascinator... i've loved how it looked on all the brides i've seen with it AND its very carrie bradshaw :rolleyes1
But then again i'm not sure if it'll work with my dress and if i should just stick to something more traditional like the hair combs, or the starfish.
Its all too confusing!

Well other than the hair situation... how did you like the shoe idea?

I know...there are things I love too but don't go with my dress. Like I really loved the bird cage veil but seeing the cathedral length one it made more sense.

I am on the same page as you...I want things to be unique and different. I don't want to look like every other bride. I think a lot of us on the boards have that idea. But sometimes we have to stick with what will look best even if in our heads it's traditional (like our veils!).

The shoes were cute...but I totally LOVE the idea of the rhinestones!!!

I am really excited to see how you're shoes turn out, it will be hard work but just think how proud you'll be when you see how beautiful they are and know that you did it all by you're self :cutie: So excited to see them :goodvibes

The earrings are lovely. I'm not sure which hair piece I like better, I think you could go either way. I'm a fan of the fascinators, I'm just thinking something sparkling may be better. :confused3 I'm just trying to imagine with the veil.

I love the idea of the rhinestones on the shoes, I may have to steal that :goodvibes

Alright... alright... I showed my boss and other co-worker the fascinator and neither one of them liked it OR thought it would loke right with my dress and veil :sad1: but hey atleast they're honest. I hope that my wedding ensamble won't look too overdone for SBP... I mean i've seen other girls there with formal gowns too but am i going overboard? (please tell me! I can take the criticism! :cutie:) My boss did however like the starfish, so that was good!
She didn't like the shoes either... she doesn't think that the style of the shoes will match the dress but the fact that i'm covering them in hot pink rhinestones doesn't match my dress either... nobody is going to see it other than in the pictures anyway so i still think i'm going to buy those.

I am really excited to see how you're shoes turn out, it will be hard work but just think how proud you'll be when you see how beautiful they are and know that you did it all by you're self :cutie: So excited to see them :goodvibes

I can't wait... no matter what style shoe i buy i am definatly covering them in rhinestones! I'll be sure to post pictures once i get the shoes and can start!

I'm starting to lean more towards something sparkley too... maybe the fascinator just isn't for me. I'm bummed but i can't looks like a bunch of brides exploded on me either. :lmao:

Steal away! just if you do cover your shoes in rhinestones make sure you send me pics of the finished product!:thumbsup2

i think the pink rhinestones with be perfect!!!! i love that idea! and i would pick the starfish comb. if you wear the starfish necklace alot, then it would only seem fitting to wear a very bling one in your hair. :goodvibes

thanks hun! :goodvibes

Do you think the starfish hair comb would look ok with the earrings?

I really should just relax and go with the flow but i over think everything because my crazy head keeps saying "this is a one time thing, make sure whatever you pick/do is the right thing!" i need to relax... :rotfl:

Yes I will agree. . .relax  You have plenty of time.

And we're all crazy, I went through the same thing, I wanted a veil, I didn't want a veil. I had my heart set on this fascinator I looved, but found out it was $70, ummm no! So with much head craziness I decided on a gardenia with no veil. But the gardenia was for my great-grandmother and grandmother who will be at the wedding in spirit.

You will find the perfect hair accessory. You may want to look at your dress too and try to envision everything together.

keeep the shoes! remember nobody sees those except for photos so having pink rhinestone shoes in photos will be fun! :thumbsup2

for the hairpiece..take a step back and look from the outside (like i should talk! :rotfl2:) what would look good is a matter of perspective and very personal...you dont want to much because you dont want it to take away from the beauty of your dress or hair style

personally i think a clip lke the starfish would be perfect, and i dont think it would clash with the earrings, as long as its set in the right placde

I agree. I love the detail on your dress and those earrings are gorgeous. You don't want to take away from that.

I went "shopping" for you!

Mandy you're my savior!!!

I actually saw the second hairpiece and i really really liked it... i was afriad it wouldn't go with anything but if you girls think it will (and you have way more of a sense of style than me) then i'm all for it!

DF and I are in the middle of a little wedding pow-wow (he says hello ladies) so i'll be back on alittle later... long story to tell...

I like the second one too. It reminded me of the starfish and the satin-ness (yes that's a word :rotfl:) made me think of your dress!!

Tell Adam I said hi!

I'm the only weird one who really loved the fascinator. :rotfl2: I think it would have been super elegant and classy. Overdone? Eh, maybe a tiny bit but it's your wedding day! Who gives a flying [insert profanity here]? Lol. Oh well! Anyway, I think the third hair comb that Mandy posted is gorgeous!

Oh I like that!! I think having the starfish will be cute!! It goes perfect with the Boardwalk!

And look!! I think it's fate...

We are going to have your whole wedding planned by the time you get back!

Don't let me chicken out!!!! :rotfl2:

Awe Anj!!! You're so funny! I still like the fascinator but i really love the white starfish (or is that a flower? :confused3 ) I'm going with white starfish! :rolleyes1

Keeping with the starfish theme...I found these!!!

Figured you could get your starfish bling too...just in your bouquet!

I saw these!!! I was thinking about getting them actually! :rotfl2: Oh the money i'm going to spend!! :woohoo:

 WHERE did you find these?????? I LOVE them!
Thank you for planning my wedding for me by the way! :thumbsup2

The starfish theme is a cute idea.

I had found these earrings before, they're not cheap, but beautiful.

Those are beautiful! I think these are the ones Vinny bought for Jenny as her wedding gift... maybe i'll email DF this website... :rolleyes1

wedding Pow Wow.... the good, the bad, and the huh???

So last night didn't start well AT ALL! I had been doing some research about bridal shower etiquette for destination brides and like you girls had already told me... man i should just listen to you all... it is perfectly acceptable. :thumbsup2 I started looking into registering at BB&B and Target. I got home last night and brought up to DF how much fun it would be to go around with the price gun thing and register... thought this would be a good conversation but apparently i was dead wrong. :sad1: I dont know if DF had a bad day at work or what but he flipped... and i mean flipped. He started saying things that i knew were true but i didn't need him to rub in my face and make me feel like crap about. (long story... bottom line said that nobody would throw us one, come, or get us anything) I got really upset and ended up in tears. He came into our room and said he was sorry but he feels bad that i have these high hopes for our wedding and hes afraid that all my expectations are going to be let down as the wedding gets closer. I know what he was trying to do but i'm not stupid and i had an idea that a bridal shower might not happen ect. but i didn't see the harm in registering. I asked him to leave me along for a while and when i felt better i came out into the dinning room and he was on the lap top on the disney weddings website. he NEVER goes on there :rotfl2: I asked him what he was doing and he said he was looking into some options for us and that he wanted me to sit down with him and do some planning together. :lovestruc I felt so much better

We talked about a lot of things... and i mean A ALOT we were planning for 2 hours last night! :scared1: We made a few changes and we figured ut a few concrete things...

Things we will definatly be doing

-Chair covers :thumbsup2
-Pink rose petals down the aisle
-Buying the sand ceremony kit through disney... too much of a risk packing our own
-rose petals on the sand ceremony table
-rose petals for a staged exit
-forgetting a DP and fireworks cruise... we'll use that money for something on the honeymoon for just us... we'll just watch it like everyone else
-Not having something right after the ceremony. we decided we'd rather tkae the limo back to the resort, change into nice clothes (like we talked about before) meet everyone at EPCOT and have a DINNER ADR with everyone before the fireworks.

I think that was everything we 100% decided upon. Things that are changing or are being talked about...

-DF came out and told me that after looking at the BLT pictures (it opened on the 4th) and reading about it he doesn't think we'll like it. Not a big deal to me... i love all the resorts... so we looked into all the other DVC resorts and the cheapest one we could stay at and know that we LOVE is AKV! I'm going to be emailing our renters and see if we can switch our request. DF would love to stay at Kidani village since we did jambo houe last time. it'll also be saving us 200$ :teacher: which would pay for chair covers, or reverend jack, ect.
-which place we want to make and ADR at for the wedding dinner. We'd like to stay in EPCOT and/or the surrounding resorts. Coral Reef is definatly in the running, as is Le Cellier, and flying fish. We're still trying to figure out this little detail... food is important to me... I LOVE FOOD!!! :cloud9:
-Flower and cake upgrades. I know you're all going to kill me. :guilty: But we're trying to budget ourselves and until we know how much te cake and bouquet upgrades will cost we are not going to get our hopes up. I asked my planner before how much the cake we want would cost and the bouquet but she told me that until we sign a contract she wouldn't be able to give us an estimate... I'm hoping that our cake wouldn't bee too much extra since its only two tiers of white cake with Navy blue ribbon on the bottom of the tiers but you never know.

Ok well i think that was everything we talked about and planned so far. It felt good to sit down with him and get everything figured out. Thoughts?

wow-you really did get alot done.

lets see-cutting out the DP/Fireworks cruise and spending the money on yourselves....i think its a good idea, as long as you don't come to regret that you didnt "do more" for your guests down the road. I am a big fan of do whats best for the two of you..
...that being said some of the family is already put off having to go down there...will their attitude be like...what else is there for us ...EVEN THOUGH...i dont really think you should HAVE to do all crazy things for them...just remember from my perspective they dont always seem understanding...then again do you care what they think anyways and do they deserve anything special (no!)..in which case you guys should take that money and do something super special together

switching hotels-good choice...i looked at BLT photos...i was not impressed :confused3..then again contemp. is not a resort that does anything for me...the views if you get it are nice..but nothing great..i saw a 7th floor MK view..and the majority was of the parking lot  ..i would MUCH rather my view from GF ..it may be futher away but atleast its got the lagoon in front of it and not pavement (okay so im biased)...i have not ever stayed at AKV so ive got not answers but if you have lovd it in the past then thats an awesome choice....

....chair covers as ive seen in photos are a nice touch ..im torn about doing them personally....
...the rose petals will look beautiful and will give everything a touch more of elegance...with your dress i think it will pull everything together..i know you are a bit nervous about your dress being too much for the site but i dont think it will be a problem at all

-dont give up on the upgrades to the flowers and cake just yet because it could be a minimal cost that is within your budget..once you see the actual price then you can determine whats best for you...however if love an idea a certain way dont sell yourself short on it and settle...you may come to regret it (unless its a crazy fee...then no way im putting my foot down!)

lastly on the bridal shower-ill throw you one!
its tough, i mean the only thing you could do is talk to your sister? maybe register but be fully aware that it may not happen?

Yea we did get alot done! :wizard:

I agree that not having a DP or a fireworks cruise might be something we'd regret but then again doing the segway tour AND dolphins in depth with DF on the disneymoon might make up for it! :thumbsup2 Don't get me wrong i LOVE illuminations but we'll make sure to find a good spot to watch them from with everyone after the wedding meal is over. I'm hoping that after the ceremony when everyone goes to EPCOT they'll be able to enjoy the F&W festival and the younger ones will enjoy TT and MS and all the other cool rides at EPCOT.

As far as the hotel change goes.. i think its a good move too. I did some reading and apparently people aren't happy with the fact that they built thsi new bulding but there is nothing other than rooms in it... no shops, no new restaurant, not even a nice lobby. The other thing is that the bulding is very strict about outsiders getting in and you can't get in without your room key, that would be a problem because we'd have to send people with my key down to let randy in and beaute special and stuff. just seems like it would be a hassel. And i LOVED!!! AKV! Its my favorite resort out of all the resorts i've ever stayed at. I walk into that lobby and my jaw drops! It was also where we stayed when we got engaged so thats kind of sweet too!

I agree that the chair covers and petals will make the location look a bit more formal too! I'm glad i'm not the only one who thinks that way!

As far as the bridal shower... i am going to talk to my sister. i've told her before that if she needed help that i'd help her with it and that it didn't need to be a surprise or anything. but we'll see... i just need to keep it in my head that just because its the normal thing to do doesn't mean it is necessary to do and that no matter what i'll be happy with my wedding. :goodvibes
