Adam and Katies 10/2/2010 SBP/Attic/?? ~ brainstorming!

Morning ladies....

I'm recovering from a rough night... too many margaritas! DF and I each ordered one and then the waitress asked it we wanted the jumbo size and like idiots :headache: we said yes... This thing was like 10 inches in diameter and 5 inches deep of top shelf alcohol. We hung out until DF felt better to drive so that lead to me eating and eating and eating... so on top of the hang over i have a stomache ache. We went to bed pretty late but my lovely dog toby apparently didn't want to sleep last night, he had me up since 3:30. This close to killing him!

I came to the downstairs office with toby to keep adam sleeping and caught up on like EVERYONE's PJ's And they all got me thinking....

Colors! Originaly DF and I thought Navy blue with a silver accent would be a good idea because it would stand out against the foliage. Well now there isn't going to be any foliage... there will however be Palm trees! Dont get me wrong i thought the Navy blue and silver idea was a good one but to me... not original. I loved Toni's Pink and lime green colors, and Carries orange and turquois... both were so unique and looked amazing, it seemed to fit them. I know i'm only an escape bride but to me having such a small wedding gives me the oppertunity to make it our own and unique and fun. Problem is I'm SOOOO not good with things like this. How did you girls decide on your colors and what was your inspiration? If anyone has any ideas for me definatly let me know!:upsidedow

Alright i'm going to try and take a nap... talk again soon!

Read your PJ and love it! YEAH for another Escape Bride!!! :cheer2:
I'll come back to answer questions later-have to get to volunteer "job"...but anyway.
Question-How did you have your date "held"? :confused3
As for colors I'm all about RED!!! *see PJ for the story as to why-it's a little lengthy* :wizard:
I look forward to reading your plans!

I have changed my colors a few times too...and I agree, I loved Toni and Carries wedding. I went and looked at paint samples online to see what I liked. My colors changed a bit (green, yellow and pink to green, pink and purple NO PASTELS!) Just start with one (or two colors) and go from there.

If you still want Navy, how about navy and and like a turquoise color?? Nice and bright!

Thanks for reading and welcome! I "held" the date when i spoke to a wedding consultant. I knew i wouldn't be able to book anything until 8 months out so i was ready to get off the phone with her and just start waiting but she said would you like to hold the date? I asked her if we needed to put a deposit down or anything and she said no because we were Penciled in. All that means is that if another bride comes along for a wishes wedding and wants that date and location they will obviously get it and i'll get a phone call letting me know that i need to switch up my day/time/or location.

I can't wait to hear your answers! I really need help when it comes to this whole wedding thing!:rotfl2: I'm going to head over to your PJ later today!:thumbsup2

Hey mandy!

I totally agree with NO PASTELS!!! Yuck! FMIL thought pastels were in and most of her house is painted in pastels it just reminds me of easter.:rotfl: I like bright and warm colors. I'm liking the navy and turqoise idea! Thanks for posting that for me!:thumbsup2 I think that'll make it look more floridian... i'm liking the idea of being able to do brighter colors now... something about fall in new england made me feel like i needed to do darker colors but i feel like i can play around alot more!:woohoo: Maybe i could do a navy, turquoise, and deep pink as the accent color, Or Navy, Turquoise, and a chocolate brown!! Oh the colors!!!!

I know i'm going to change my mind atleast 3 more times:upsidedow Its good to know i'm not the only one!

I just had a random thought....

what colors make you think... old hollywood??

Hey 'Bug-

What about chocolate brown and pink- not a pale pale pink. But, you know------- pink.:lmao:

What colors do you wear most? What's hanging in your closet?

Of course, in Florida- everything looks beautiful.

J~

Old hollywood makes me think of red and black, maybe with a touch of champagne or gold.

I like the idea of the navy, turquoise and chocolate...or pink!! Lol

What about teal, pink and brown?

Hey JO!

I was wondering when you'd pop in again! I like the brown and pink (not pale) I just dont know how adam will feel about that... he's not a pink kinda guy! I maybe able to get away with pink as an accent color though. Ya know just sneak it in there:rolleyes1

I'm looking at my closet and its not helping... it looks like a rainbow in there!

no matter what i pick though i know it'll look good... its disney!

Lol I know!! When I put it together I started thinking...hmmm I like that for me!!:rotfl2:

I studied Interior Design in college and just love playing with colors. Plus I think you and I are on the same page about No Pastels!!

Df doesn't like pink either, but I think as an accent it's ok. I am going to use it a bit in the ceremony I think and for MOH flowers, and I think he will be ok with that. As long as it's not "Blush and Bashful"

oh boy i didn't even notice what time it was.... I have to go clean the house FDMIL, FDFIL, and both FDBIL's are coming here at 3... oops.

I'm off to clean the house:laundy:

I'll be back later to talk color!:woohoo:

Thats awesome! I'm going to have to show DF that shirt! I'll be consulting with you on colors later!

I say RED and Black (mickey's colors;)
Just kidding...

Just as a note I had my heart set on Navy Blue and White and when it came time to choose none of my BMs liked the dress so I settled for Hunter Green (this was the 90's) and actually the BM dresses turned out very nice.

Believe it or not i was thinking about a classic black, white, and red. Very old hollywood, but then i got to thinking and it reminded me of my senior prom. Our school colors were red and white... i wore a black and white dress and had a red corsage... very pretty but i'd rather not relive my prom.

Hmm...As soon as classes are over I'm going to call again and see if I can get pencilled in.... That would make my day! Did you just ask someone that answers the 800 number to have a consultant call you back? I was told I had to wait 12 months out to have be pencilled in....Hmmm...

Here are the answers to your questions...

.) Escape bouquets - Red roses-somewhat open...See PJ for pics.

2.) Photography - While I have seen some DPS that have been good, I want something more than snap shots. We're going with outside photo...DF knows-if my pics are great I won't be happy. But since we are going with outside photo I'm probably gonna nix the video. I feel relatively ok about this b/c we can always have someone video tape and then edit it ourselves...maybe...(Ok sometimes I can be really lazy when it comes to editing video-at least I'm honest.

3.) DP or Fireworks cruise? *and why?* NOPE! LOL DF says that if you want to see the firework you can go to the park for "free" and grab a mickey bar on your way to your spot for $5 or so dollars. :rotfl: He has a point, but he still wants fireworks if we can make it happen...Who knows how that will turn out...but no DP (I'm kind of bummed about this...but I guess that means we can do more for a "reception" dinner.

4.) Cake tables - I've seen different designs on escape cake tables in other trip reports... is this something that you can request or something that is included and you pick a certain style?? I don't know about this. I just DO NOT want "clouding" on my cake table...it looks like someone balled up linens and left them there...

5.) How likely is it that i get the time, location, and date that i chose? Its SBP on Saturday 10/16/2010 @ 5:00 Don't know...I was told to be flexible with date and time and we would more than likely get the location we wanted.

6.) How do you escape brides handle not doing anything until 8 months out?!?!?! LOL...it doesn't stop. It just goes a little slower. I scan for sales for invite boxes, get ideas, dress shop, go to bridal shows (which are kind of a waste-but you get good ideas) Figure out different ways to save, get all my pictures in order so that when I have my phone consultations I can send them via email quickly...Chat with mom and DF about things...(we've had some great conversations lately) I keep a notebook and post here...keeps me occupied. I started officially planning 2 years out and its all good.

Finally caught up on the PJ. Sorry about the family troubles Katie but now you are a disney bride..tentatively at least!

Love the bargain dress. Awesome!!

Can't wait to hear more.

Yay for 2010 brides.

Thanks for the answers hun!:goodvibes

As far as being penciled in, i had originally spoken to whoever answers the 800# and I had alot of questions that she just couldn't answer so she took down my name and number and she said she'd have a consultant call me back in 1 to 2 buisness days. The first time i spoke to the consultant i asked her any question i could think of and let her know that we needed that info to figure out approximately what it would cost and a few things to say to family member to get them on board. I let her know that i'd call her a week later and let her know either way. I called her and had a few more questions then said "we want to do it!" She sent me the 2009 escape follow-up kit which explained alot and she said she'd pencil us in!:thumbsup2

well i had alot of questions about the Desert party, the fireworks cruise, the different locations for the ceremony, photography questions, different things we needed to tell our guests, ect.

I had alot of $$$ questions :lmao: So it the person who answers the 800# didn't really know how much the desert party was and wasn't sure about the new photgrapher policy. I'd call and just ask if there is a wedding consultant you can have call you back! Good Luck! Let me know how it goes for you!:thumbsup2
