meghan - yes we went to water country neither one of us had been in FOREVER, it kind of lost its appeal from when we were ya know 10 years old but we made the best of it and chilled in the lazy river for a while
Ok so we went ring shopping!

I called my boss at work because she is like a jewelry expert, he neices call her auntie bobbles, so i asked her where there were some good jewelers in NH because she also lives in NH. She gave me two places to go to. One of them she told me was a fairly large shop where there were TONS of things for us to check out but she warned be that she was on the more expensive side. The other place was relatively close and she said that his shop was small and family owned and operated and that they dont stock alot of jewelry but they were excellent and VERY reasonsably priced. (i should also mention that the name of the place is "joey's jewelry"... thats right ladies i went to see Joey the Jeweler

)
Ok so i decided that since the first placce she told me about had alot of things to look at we'd head over there first. I must've tried on 100 wedding bands

it was awesome! My original plan was to do something with pink sapphires but because my e-ring didn't have any in it, they didn't look right so i'm going with just diamonds. She was showing me alot of bands with diamonds in a channel setting (or pave if you want to get technical) and i liked it but i saw a really pretty ring that was diamonds half way around in prong settings. It was very dainty and lady like and what i liked about it was that it wasn't exactly like my e-ring but it was close enough and didn't take away from my e-ring. I also noticed a common trend with all the bands though... my e-ring is raised up towards the center stone.... so none of them looked like they truly matched. I told the women helping us and she found a band that was slightly raised (diamonds in channel setting) and had me try it on. It wasn't a perfect match but i got the idea and it totally looked ALOT better raised up. (But i still liked the diamonds in the prong settings)
Next we moved on to Adam's band. He explained to her that he is an electrician so he needed something that would hold up and that he read alot about tungsten rings. Well he HATED them! They were too bulky and he just wasn't liking them at all. So she suggested titanium to him. He LOVED those! They were very light and he found one that he LOVED! It was shiny on the sides with a matte finished thick strip in the middle.
She quoted us some prices and they were VERY high. DF's ring she was going to charge us 150$ and she said that the ring i liked was 1000$ and if I wanted her to customize it to be raised higher it would be about 1500$.

Not in our budget. Especially not for exactly what i wanted. So we asked her for her card and we left. She was very nice and if you have the money thats great but yea....no
Ok so we move on to Joey the Jewler. We drove by the place twice because it is in this little hole in the wall. We walked in and like my manager said it was VERY small and not alot of things to look at. We were greeted by a young boy who i think was joey's son. (joey was helping another person) He was very sweet and asked us how he could help us. We told him that we were on the hunt for some wedding bands and that we had looked at another shop and got an idea of what we liked. DF explained that he really liked the titanium band and the kid (we'll call him DJS for for darling joey's son) handed DF a book and said go to page "whatever" and there are a whole bunch of titanium rings to look at find on you like and i'll let you know when we can get it for you and what price. COOL! So while DF went looking through the catalog he asked me what i was looking for, i explained what i wanted and how it would need to be raised up a bit. He asked for my e-ring and he studied it for like 10 mins. He said that he could absolutly make me something custom to what i wanted. YAY! So DF came back over and low and behold there was the ring from the other shop in the book! So DJS looked it up and said ok so for the Gent's band it'll be 55$ and for the custom Ladies Band it'll be roughly 400-500$

Thats one heck of a difference. DJS must've seen our faces and he said "ya know we can always work on the price, just let me know when you two are ready to get going and i'll take good care of you!" He handed us his card and we told him that we would definatly be back!
So DF and I decided that once the time gets alittle closer we'll be heading back over to go see DJS and get out wedding bands! I am super psyched! His prices were totally in our budget, it was exactly what we wanted to spend. I have enough money saved to get both rings made but DF said he'd be too worried that we'd end up wearing them early if we had them done now, which he is absolutly right.
So that is our wedding band story. I'm off to go do some laundry. Have a good day ladies!
