No but i really do need to get carrie's book! I just looked at some pictures and i definatly think the st. james room would be lovely! I saw a picture of the long roman table set up outside on the patio with the buffet on the right hand side.
I just think it would be easier to have a brunch immediatly after the ceremony and then go into the parks than everyone going out into the parks and then trying to get them all back together again for a dinner. But then again it would be cheaper to just take everyone to dinner... But i also want to wear my dress for as long as possible... I also want to give the illusion that i actually is a recpetion... but is it in the budget.... HELP ME!!!

I think the idea of a brunch is a great idea!! What about the Attic?? A little bit more...$2000! But you wouldn't need anything...no decorations or anything.

I was just talking to my boss and she brought up a good point. the 685$ min for the St. James room isn't that bad considering if we took 10 guests out to dinner and they all drank it would be about 60$ per person ATLEAST so it would almost be equal to going out to dinner. I can't wait to show DF the St. James room pictures and tell him the price. I think I want to do it! I wish my planner would get back to me!

Do you girls know what the brunch and / or lunch menu looks like?

Well DF was a buzz kill and a half!

I should've known it wasn't going to go well when i tried to tell him about the St. James room on my way home from work and before i could get out all the details i got a flat tire on a major highway and was stuck there for about 45 mins...

So when we finally got home and i got to talk to him about it he totally rejected the idea. He thinks it'll be wierd to be sitting in the room with no music, and that the whole point of having the disney wedding was to avoid a reception. I then showed him flying fish but he then decides to tell me he doesn't want to do brunch.... he said that its our wedding day and that if he wants steak he should be able to get steak. I tried to explain to him that i'm afraid that once we all change and go to the parks the wedding "magic" will be over and going somewhere for dinner will just be that... DINNER! Not to mention keeping tabs on everyone to make sure they're at dinner on time will be annoying. I'd just rather have the ceremony and then sit down and eat all at once... so that when we get into that parks we have nothing else to worry about. I screwed myself by mentioning that you could have centerpieces and that i want to be able to wear my dress, because that had DF really thinking reception... i guess i'm trying to have my cake and eat it to and thats not fair/right/affordable. Believe me if we could afford a wishes wedding i'd do it in a heart beat.

Does anyone have any ideas for me? Anything at all?

i'm still not sure about my mother... shes going to be one of those guests we decide on like the day before And there maybe another aunt and uncle on my side attending so it'll be over the 12 people.

I dont know i'm going to do some more research and see what i can come up with. I know we have a while before we can book everything but i'd like to get some sort of idea what we're doing. Its looking like DF and I have two very different ideas on what this wedding should be like and its OUR day so we need to compromise or something.

Not a reception...per-say...a meal...no centerpieces...no extra flowers...just a meal. After all, your guests have travelled many miles to witness your wedding-it is the hospitable thing to do.
Wait a couple of weeks before talking about it again. Just stealthy save your pennies to be able to cover the expense. OH! and my mother's advice...Make it his idea...let this blow over first...The time will appear when you least expect it.

Now, start looking at restaurants...

I definatly don't mind not having music, centerpieces, and/or decorations. I just really want to wear my dress for as long as i can and i kind of wanted something private. I figured the SJR or FF would be good because they're close to SBP and they're min isn't too high. He just wants to go to dinner somewhere with everyone later on that day... i can't see getting changed, going to the parks, coming back, getting BACK into my dress, and then going out to dinner. Thats just WAYYYY too much!

He really liked the pictures of bluezoo that i showed him but i then realized they dont open for lunch and wished i never showed him the pictures! He doesn't want to change the time either... Then i saw in someone's TR that they had a good experience with Portobello's at DTD but i dont know much about them. I also wish my planner would email me back with some additional info... theres only so much web surfing and google-ing i can do before i start getting conflicting information. ( and my eyes start hurting! ) I dont know... maybe i should just be greatful that i'm going to have 3 hours worth of me in my wedding gown as it is and just go change and maybe get a nice white sundress to wear for the rest of the day.


If we decide to just do dinner and i just wear a white sundress I think i'd like to eat at CR at Epcot. Its one of our favorite places to eat and its special to us because i had a diver for DF after we got engaged. (it was the second single most amazing moment of my life) Thoughts on that idea?

And maybe keep the boy in a nice pair of slacks and button down shirt. That way, you could pose for some pictures in the parks (use those photopass photographers!) and still feel fancy!

I love that dress!! I think that might be the way to go. Keep me and DF in nice, weather appropriate clothes (lord knows we dont want to be sweat our littly bums off! ) and go to dinner after a day at the park and end with illumiations at night. They're my favorite... DF thought i'd want wishes but nope... illuminations all the way!!

OH! Maybe the compromise is that on top of the white sun dress and nice guy attire DF will be MADE to wear his groom ears! I'm sure that will keep the wedding magic going!
