I've been thinking about switching contacts and I am looking at Acuvue Oasys brand. According to the product website, it says these can be worn for 6 consecutive days without the need for cleaning (and then disposed). Does anyone use it like that and how does it compare to the daily cleaning type of contacts?

I love mine, I wear them for 2 weeks(I sleep in them too) and then throw them out.

Do you ever get that icky stuck to your eyeball feeling after wearing them that long? I'm currently using 1-day Acuvue moist disposables, and at the end of the day, I feel like they are stuck to my eyes and have to put in rewetting drops in order to remove them.

Six consecutive days ... HA!

I wear mine as "extended wear" (never taking them out, sleeping in them) and I get about a MONTH* before I even notice them getting a little scratchy!

Acuvue Oasys are the BEST lenses I've ever worn, and I've been wearing contacts for almost 30 years!

However, I do have natually very-moist eyes. I never need rewetting drops, even when it's hot and dry outside. I wouldn't recommend anyone with even slightly dry eyes to try and wear lenses as long as I do....

Acuvue Oasys contacts are awesome- you hardly feel them- however I would never sleep in my contacts again after a corneal infection I went through a couple of years ago from wearing my contacts (Acuvue 2's) too long. OUCH!!!!! is an understatement.

None of my Eye docs recommend sleeping in your contacts.

At night, I just take them out and let them soak overnight in the no-rub solution.

I was using the Acuvue Advance with Hydraclear and tried the Oasys. I didn't like the way they felt and switched back. It wasn't that they hurt or anything but they were just uncomfortable.

Most doctors will give you a sample in your prescription to try which is how I tried them. It means you don't have to buy a box to try them. Contacts are so subjective though that just because I didn't like them doesn't mean you won't.
