accuracy of crowd calendars

I have checked the t.plans dot com calendar just today and many of our park days have higher crowd predictions than they did a few months ago. Of course this creates a panic for me, and I'm wondering how accurate crowd calendars are.

Also, does tour guide mike have a crowd calendar? Is it fairly accurate? I'm thinking of getting tgm to help me plan details.

Thanks

I have been using TourGuideMike for three trips - this is my forth coming up - and so far his crowd calander is spot on. What is great about TGM is that he not only has crowd level for particular days but he also breaks them down into morning and night (the only site I have seen to do it this way). So it is very helpful to plan your park hopping as well.

We used the crowd calendar for our trip in April from t.plans and it was right on. We're using it again for our next trip.

We used t. plans for our trip and it was dead on! The change in crowd predictions may be because of the school schedule. There is an explanation on the site somewhere that says which school systems they use in figuring out their predictions, so up until the official schedule came out they may have been guessing a bit and once the official schedule came out, they were able to give a concrete prediction.

As they say on the site..having a good plan is even more important than the crowd level.

just FYI, the crowd calendar for t.plans is only free to view for the next upcoming month. To see the rest of the year you need to have the book or a subscription.

Posting the site isn't allowed, I think because it's a competitor to the site's sponsor. Personally, I subscribe to both. Google "unofficial guide disney"; it's the 2nd link.

I just returned and I thought the crowds were going to be light because it was what I was told and they were not!!! there was alot of people there. We normally go in march and the crowds are definilty alot lower then. we didn't have to wait too long for rides but there was alot of people!!!

There is one 7 among our crowd predictions. What does a 7 mean? Should I be worried or not bad at all? The rest of my days are under 7. I use both tour guide mike and touring plans. I prefer mike, but like to double and triple check my planning. The biggest concern with both is that many days mike may suggest a park that touring plans says avoid. So then you have to decide which to go by. I usually go by Mike, just because I used him last trip and it worked well.

The crowd predictor for us has been correct about 75% of the time. The rest of the times the waits were less than predicted. Of course this could be effected by the times we went to do e-ticket attractions or the order we were touring the parks. Also keep in mind disney is diong all these free dining and room discount promos to boost attendance year round now so its starting to even out the crowds over the year, some of the calendars do update to the promos but w/ how fast the promos are coming out and filling it up it may be hard for them to keep up as well as they have in the past.

The calendars are wonderful for getting a general idea of how busy it is going to be but let higher numbers get you worked up. I have decided to plan/not plan last min trips based on lower numbers but I had the flexibility at that time to be able to go whenever I wanted. In the end it didn't matter I have had just as much fun and done as much stuff in Mid July as I have first of Sept. You have the Dis and all the wonderful people w/ thier touring tips here so just take in all the info you can from the wise vets here and use that to determine your touring plans.

Does it update each day? Or once you see it, it recognizes your IP and you can't see it again?

Yikes, I just checked and one of our days went up to an 8! We are following their advice on which parks to go to or avoid about half the time. I agree, the time of day you ride makes more of a difference than what day, unless you are talking about peak times like holidays or summer.

Would someone please send me that site? I'd greatly appreciate it.

Thanks!

I'd love to check out this site as well, if someone would be so kind as to PM the web addy, I'd appreciate it!
