Accomodations close to WL

Our son is getting married at WDW and staying at WL. Both sets of parents are staying at WL as well. Howevr, best man and wife just had baby and $$$ is a factor. Are there any other accommodations really close to WL that would be more moderately priced? He does not want to be in another section of park.

Actually, in that area the WL is the most reasonable. If you have a camper, though, you could book a campsite at Fort Wilderness for around $40 - 60 a night, but you cannot book these if you don't have your own camper. Otherwise, you'll need to choose a moderate or value to save $$$, or look for codes that will give you a discount on the room at WL. Check out www.mousesavers.com for info on codes and discounts.

The moderate resort that is easiest to get to from WL (I think) is Port Orleans, but you will need a car or will have to take a cab to WL if you want direct access. You can take the bus to the MK then a boat to WL, but that could take up to an hour.

I'll have to agree. WL is the cheapest of the MK resorts, with the exception of a camp site at FW. The closest cheaper hotel is Port Orleans. It's a moderate hotel, but one would need a car to get back and forth. The values are the same way, so if they will have a car, those are the cheapest, but would be 10 - 15 minutes away.

You might check over on the DVC rental boards here on DIS. They might be able to rent a VWL studio from a DVC member for a fair price. The cost would depend on the number of nights, time of year and how many points a member would need to use for a reservation.
