Has anyone used this service yet? DD and I will be using the service on our return trip (DH driving us TO the airport), and I was wondering what you can tell me to expect. We land just after 4 and are booked on the 6:00 shuttle. That should give us lots of time to get our luggage, and maybe even something quick to eat. (Is there something at that point of DTW to grab some food? ) I know that we are supposed to call them when we 'land' to let them know we are there. Any other pointers from someone experienced? Thanks!

I have never used the about town, but I would say that it depends what terminal you are flying out of in terms of places to eat.... I know that there is a caribou coffee by the luggage claim in McNamara, but I think that most of the eating areas in all the terminals are before you leave the 'secure area' and go to luggage claim.??? I 'm sure there must be a few though?? I am not 100% on that but you could go to www.metroairport.com to check out the maps of the terminals. Good luck! I hope that you guys have a great trip!! :thumbsup2

I've used Robert Q and never again. I have heard great things about the Airbus though from co-workers.
If you're in the Smith terminal, and you get your luggage your meal choices are very limited. There's a Starbucks, a Coney Island and there's a Mexican place as well.
Have a great trip!

I agree, the food choices might be very limited depending on which terminal you fly into. I used About town in May for the first time and thought they were great. One nice thing about them, compared to Robert Q which I have also had good service with, is that they drive direct from Detroit to London, no stopping in a Windsor office or at other points, so it is a little faster. Makes a difference when you're tired and just want to get home!

Thanks for the link MomtoEmIs&Ow. I checked it out (we're flying NWA, so it will be McNamara), and it looks like coffee only. Yuck! Neither DD nor myself drink coffee, so I guess I'd better pack some food for when we land.

I chose Aboutown because of the timing. I'll be sure to report back when we return.
