??? About Use of Park Hopper Passes

We have always used the Ultimate Park Hoppers and not really worried about going in and out of parks.

This time, I think it's going to be more cost effective to buy a 7 day Park Hopper Plus. So, I have some really basic questions. We have never bothered to get our hands stamped coming out of the parks with the uph's because you just come and go whenever you want for the whole time you're there. I guess it's essential with the 7 day PHP to make sure to get your hand stamped when you leave a park for the day? What I'm asking is, does your pass register that you've gone into a park for that day and keep track of it for you? Or do you have to use your hand stamp to "prove" that you've come and gone already during a given day? (Am I making this clear at all?)

I'm worried about giving up some of the convenience of the uph's. I know it seems like a little thing, but the stamps ALWAYS seem to come off of my hand, so it causes me a lot of stress.

I believe that the definition of a "park hopper" means that you can hop the parks at any time.

You only need your hand stamped if you have a single-day admission to a single park (like, you only buy admission to the Magic Kingdom)

the pass shows where you have been on any given day, the handstamp tells them that you used that pass on that given day.
Don't worry about the handstamp washing off, it is really hard to get all of it off.
I was under the impression you needed a hand stamp with the UPHs also. I thought the only pass exempt from the handstamp was the AP or any other pass that require bio scans.

From Deb's site:

The only people who do NOT need a handstamp are annual passholders, seasonal passholders, and Cast Members. All others need a handstamp if they are plan to re-enter. Chances are, you won't be asked for a handstamp, but it is better to be safe than sorry. If you have a parkhopper pass, YOU are the one that this policy is in place to protect, so that you can get in or out. Most people think if they have parkhoppers, they are immune from having to get the stamps.

These stamps are waterproof. You may shower, swim, bathe, wash your hands, or anything else that might get your hands wet, without removing the stamp. About the only thing that will remove the stamps are alcohol-based lotions, such as hand sanitizers, and even those need to be used in HEAVY quantity to take off the stamp.

Actually, that is incorrect. All ticket holders, except for ticket holders having tickets that require a bio scan of their fingers (ie: annual pass holders), need a handstamp.

In October we went to Epcot then later that day to MK and we did not get a hand stamp. The CM at Epcot told us we didn't need a hand stamp unless we had a 1 day ticket. If you do need a hand stamp they must not enforce it too much as we had no problem getting into MK later that day.

Yes, all hoppers and one day tickets do require a hand stamp for readmission. This is for your protection, because there are no identifying features on either the one day pass or the hoppers, unlike other passes which either have your party's name on it, or require biometrics for entry into the parks. Also, if the machine in which you insert your ticket were to go down, they would check your hand stamp to make sure that you had been to the park, so they would put the correct code into the machine and it wouldn't take off another day. Getting a stamp really is no big deal... and could save you alot of headaches.

My apologies - I was unclear. I thought the OP meant that she wanted to leave one park and enter another on the same day - I see now what she's speaking of...thanks for the information.

Your ticket proves that you have the right to enter the park. The handstamp proves that it is you who has been previously in a park.

UPH's require use of the handstamps, too. There is only one name on a room reservation and it doesn't necessarily match the name of the person using the UPH. The handstamp shows that you didn't just give this pass to another person to use.
