We'll be visiting WDW in November and would love to take the kids to the Harry Potter exhibit at Universal. We're not huge thrill ride fans but do plan on doing some tame rides at Universal. We like to take in the sites and eat and shop.

When I looked at the Undercover Tourist website, I see tickets that include Isle of Adventure and Universal or, just plain Universal tix. The price difference is big when you consider buying 4 tix. Should a family of 4 with kids ages 9 and 6 enjoy both parks? Does it take days to get through both sections, or can they be done in a day? We'd really like to spend just one day there. Thanks.

There are 2 parks, Islands of Adventure (IOA) and Universal Studios. There is also the Citiwalk restaurant/shopping/entertainment area.

It will take at least 1 day to do each park, and with Harry Potter pushing in big crowds, I would probably say 3.

If you can do only 1 day, just do Islands of Adventure, that's where Harry Potter is. Get there early and go straight to the Harry Potter area.

Both parks have plenty of "tame" rides and shows.

Have a great time!

There is so much to see at Universal Orlando. But if your main concern is seeing HP,then just buy a one day one park ticket to IOA.If you have AAA,the tixs can be cheaper.

Now a few things to know about IOA.Most of the rides are extreme. The Forbiden Journey ride at HP is a simulator that can be extreme if you don't like them kinda rides.Consider Star Tours or Dinosure at DW or better yet Soarin and you will have a idea of what FJ is like.

Can both parks be done in one day? No.If your main intrest is HP,yes.

I can go on and on,but this question would be better answered on the Universal Boards.

I'd suggest that, in addition to undercovertourist, you go out to the usf.com website and look at the ticket pricing directly from Universal. Sometimes there are ticket options at the Universal site that aren't offered elsewhere and you may be able to save a few dollars.

THanks for the replies! It sounds like Universal could be a trip in itself. I will check out the Universal board, thanks.

Both theme parks can be done in one day IF you get the universal express pass. It is similar to Disney's fastpass except you have to pay to get it (its about $30) but it literally takes you to the front of the line unlike disney's fastpass where there is still a few minute wait. We have done all popular rides at both theme parks at Universal (some rides multiple times!) because of the Universal Express but it was with my 21 year old brother and 14 year old sister so we move real quick. Of course this is different if you have young kids because you may not be able to move as quick.
