About transferred points...

I'm hoping to make a reservation soon for May 2006 at SSR for a 2 bedroom. The total points needed is 293. My parents are coming with us, and while we're using our 200 2006 points my parents are going to pay for me to rent the remaining 93 points (rent them and have them transferred to my account). My question is if I want to book SSR before the 7 month window do I need to rent points from someone who's renting out SSR points, or can I rent from anyone and the points will "magically become" SSR points when transferred to my account?

As long as you wait to reserve for the 7 month window, the points can be from anywhere as there is no longer a home resort priority. If however you want to make the ressie between Now and October, they would have to be SSR points.

What is your use year? You may have the option of borrowing 2007 points, and then you'd still have the 11-month window.

If you want to reserve 11 months out, all the points you use have to be "home resort" points with correct UY.
In your case, it means whatever points you "buy" from another member have to be available before your check-in date in May'06.

Great, thanks guys! It's clear now, lol.

My UY is April so technically we could borrow, but we didn't want to have to borrow 2007 points. My parents are OK with paying for the rental of the 93 points. They're still getting a great deal, and they get to vacation with us, and we get to keep the next year's points lol
