We have been told that our contract should close by the end of the day tomorrow!! That's less than 6 weeks from offer to close! Whoo hoo!! :)

Just a few questions for those of you who have already completed these final steps...
1) Does that mean I should see it on the Orange County Comptroller's site tomorrow?

2) I've seen multiple posts that the Disney folks aren't the friendliest when calling to see if your account has been created & points loaded. I don't want to make any enemies, so being that we're new DVC members, how long should I wait to call? And..

2b) Do I call Member Administration or Member Services? What are the phone numbers?

3) When I do call, what information do I need to give them, and what all do I need to ask them? How does this all work? Account creation, points loaded, etc.

We're still holding out hope for a 2BR for our family of 7 in September. A fellow DVC member checked for me a week ago or so, and there was still availability at SSR, OKW, and AKV, so that seemed pretty promising! We'd just love to get it booked ASAP so we can know for sure and start our official count down!

I'd appreciate any advice you have on this final step of the process!

Your Broker should provide you with the info that you need.

1) Does that mean I should see it on the Orange County Comptroller's site tomorrow? Not a chance, the website is on a lag. Maybe in a couple of weeks it will show up......

I don't want to make any enemies, so being that we're new DVC members, how long should I wait to call? And..I was already a member and it took about a week for the points to show up in my account. Most reports for new members say it take 10 days to 2 weeks for your account to be created and points to be loaded.

2b) Do I call Member Administration or Member Services? What are the phone numbers?Member Services and your Broker will give you the info after closing.

3) When I do call, what information do I need to give them, and what all do I need to ask them? How does this all work? Account creation, points loaded, etc. All they'll need is your SS# to find you in the system. I have no idea, since we were members already when we bought resale

FYI.....We just got the e-mail this morning about our contract closing. Just for fun I went on the Orange County site and the new contract came up, with our name and it was in the process of being recorded. Yay!!

Awesome news! I looked up my sellers' names, and I can see that on July 18, there is a notice, and also a deed with our (buyers') names as "Grantee". Does this change over to our names as the "Grantor" when it is complete? And July 18 is 2 days before I was notified of closing.
