We're arriving November 2-- OH NO! Right smack in the middle of "Jersey Week." I'd never even heard of this before! Just how crowded does it get during Jersey Week? Should we cancel and go at another time? I believe that a very crowded park will make my fiancee quite miserable. Any thoughts would be much appreciated. Thanks!

Dont worry, its DISNEY... its your Honeymoon. You will make sweet memories.

Read some of the trip reports for those that went during Spring Break. Get ready to read posts of the crowds on May 5 - and people have wonderful time, they stick to plans, they go early, they do the late nights... you can have a miserable time, or you can have a glorious time!!

Just checked the NJEA Web site and the convention is November 10-12, which would be much better!

Don't worry---early November is not too bad (and if I'm not mistaken, Jersey week is the following week...someone feel free to correct me).

We've been at relatively empty times and relatively crowded times and we've always had a great time. Even people who go on New Year's or July 4th---probably the two most crowded days of the year---have a great time!

Just relax and don't stress! You'll have a wonderful time!

Bob

Re-scheduling is a definate possibilty if you feel your fiance will not like the crowds. Hope this helps and have fun! :wave2:

Yeah - you're actually arriving in the middle of the week before Jersey week. Many reports are that people only find out that it is Jersey week after they get home and didn't notice excessive crowds. I don't think you have anything to worry about. FYI - I'll be there Nov 5 - Nov 12.

We are going to be there from October 30th to November 13th and I was concerned about this at first too!! But on these boards everyone has been saying that it is a pretty quiet time to go. Also, if you visit this site: http://www.touringplans.com/BestDays.htm it shows that crowds should only be at about a 3. Sounds pretty good to me!! :sunny:

We were there for Jeresy week, last year, didn't notice a lot of crowds at all. I am used to going in Janaury(very dead time of year). So go, have fun together, it is your honeymoon, don't expect to do it all. Have some good food, the italian dessert cart at the Food and Wine fest in Epcot, is wonderful. Do Epcot on a weekday, avoid the weekend. Hit Pleasure Island, dance, drink and have a laugh. Do Ak in the morning. Have a wonderful Honeymoon.

I'm not sure I understand the problem. Isn't a park full of people from NJ even better than a low-crowd day? ;)

You'll feel like everybody really cares about your health because everyone you meet will say "How you doin'?"

Check my DIS name... :teeth:

We've been during Jersey week. It was not that crowded and we met lots of nice people from New Jersey.

from my understanding jersey week is the second week in nov this year. We will be there the oct 29th to nov 8, and we are crowd-phobes. it could be worse, we could be going christmas week... :earseek:

maybe I will see you there, we will be next door at poly, have a great honeymoon!

We got married at Disney World and honeymooned during the busiest time of the year (Christmas and New Years) and while it was busy, we didn't care because we were on our honeymoon! We are going this year during Jersey week to get a break from the crowds. :teeth: If you are really worried about it, get a good touring plan (unofffical guide) or sign up for tour guide mike, which will help you stay ahead of the masses. Good luck and don't worry, you will have a great time!

Umm it's always a "week" for someone somewhere in the world. I wouldn't stress about it.

And we didn't even notice the crowds. You can freak out if you want but those parks are huge and can absorb a large amount of people before they feel full. We went in Feburary too (during Mardi Gras and SuperBowl) and it was much much much crowdeder (I think I just made up a word :teeth: ). We much prefer Jersey Week. We're going in mid may again and I have to say, I'd rather put it off because I expect the crowds to be much worse in two weeks.

Weddings can give you all sorts of things to stress out about, give yourself a break an relax on this one thing, it's not going to be a big deal at all.

Congratulations on your upcoming marriage.

Silly me! I thought "Jersey Week" meant that there were alot of people wearing different types of jerseys..you know...like football or rugby jerseys....not people from "New Jersey"!

Boy do I feel like such a dork!

Seeing that your last trip was Feb. 2002 and the crowds were pretty light, you will be surprised at the number of people you see when you arrive. It is better than summer and you can get around but you'll need to use your head.

I suggest you try TourGuideMike.com. You'll learn a lot about how to stay ahead of the crowds. The cost is the same as a guidebook but TGMike updates the site based on the current crowd pattern he sees because he's in the parks giving private tours. Plus there's a money back guarantee.

I was at WDW for Jersey Week 2004 and I can honestly say that without TourGuideMike I would have spent hours in lines instead of minutes. Following Mike's advice we rode Splash Mountain three times in a row with less than 10 minute waits. Later the lines were 60+ minutes. Worth every penny.

Enjoy your honeymoon.

Just don't let them in your room! Problem solved! :rotfl:

Congratulations on the wedding, sounds like your timing is great after all!

:moped:

Not to worry! DH and I went to WDW in 2003 during Jersy Week AND Super Soap weekend and the crowds were not bad. We didn't know it was Jersey Week until we came back and I read about it on the DISboards!

Don't stress out--you will have a WONDERFUL honeymoon. Just remember that the Magic Kingdom is breathtakingly crowded on weekends ANYWAY so try to see it on the weekdays. If you can park hop, just head over to another park or to Downtown Disney if the crowds are too much for you.

From what I've read, Jeresey week is the week after. So, I think you'll be lucky and miss it. I was there last year for 'Jersey week', I don't know what Disney everyone else was at from Nov 1st -8th, but it was packed. I've never been during peak season, so maybe I'm wrong, but it was packed compared to when I was there in Sept the last time. By the 5th, it was a zoo! Probably due to hurricane rescheduling, F&W fest. I don't know what it was, but I didn't like it!! :) I'm sure it will be fine. Like everyone else said, it's your Honeymoon, no one else will even matter except you and DH!! Enjoy and Congratulations!! :lovestruc

Hmmm. We got married in June. We were going to take our honeymoon to WDW. We decided not to. Too hot, too crowded. We went to the Ozarks instead. Oh my goodness what were we thinking!! :confused3

I would much rather go to Disney anytime than not.
