About the results of "If you could only pick 10 TV channels..."

Sleuth and Chiller, probably yes. I'm not sure where BBC America stands.

Of course, but that just means that the channel is pretty much without merit for more than half the year. Seems to me a smarter deal would be to mate-up with NBA and MLB and create just one network valuable year-round.

Tell you what, something like that would be a great channel, but I think the chance of that happening is highly unlikely (at best). For one thing you would have too many over-lapping games. The NFL starts in the beginning of Sept, and goes until the first part of February (the Superbowl). The NBA starts in October and ends in June. So you would be looking at about 3 1/2 months of overlapping games, fighting over who gets the coverage, the news, etc...

A better option might be an NFL / MLB combined channel. Again the NFL goes from Sept - Feb. whereas baseball goes from April to Oct. A bit of overlap near the end, but not too bad, plus you would have only about 1 1/2 months of no games.

I'm a pretty die hard football fan, and even I have a hard time trying to watch the NFL network during the off-season (with the exception being the draft or some breaking news).

I do like your idea of a combined station, but again, I think it is very, very unlikely that will happen. I know there are some small / local stations (like NESN that broadcasts both the Red Sox and Bruins games) that might do this on a smaller scale, but I don't see it happening with the major stations (NFL Network, NBA Network, etc...)
