I have never been to either but am considering making an ADR for one of them. We will be a party of 4 adults, 2 children (age 6) and one infant in a highchair.

I think I read somewhere that the car tables at the Sci Fi seat 6 people. Does anyone know if there would be anyplace for a highchair there? It's hard to imagine since I have no idea what this place looks like. :confused3

How about at the 50s Prime Time...can a party of 7 sit together there?

They do have high chairs - we were in a table for 6 and with a high chair (our little one wasn't 2 yet). So, yes, if your party is of 6 plus a high chair (7), you will all be able to sit together.

The chairs go next to the car lengthwise - they have a longer tray on them. You can put the little one facing the screen in the high chair. That was one of our first meals and I spent most of the time picking up thrown nakins, straws, whatever from said child. It's kind of a blur! :rotfl2: I'm trying to remember if I had him facing me at all and I don't think so.

We had a party of 6 at Sci-Fi and we sat in a car, 2 per seat, all facing forward, so it's hard to talk. Plus it's loud and dark. We liked the atmosphere, it's a lot of fun and looks cool, but we couldn't talk to each other and the food was awful. We all much prefer the 50's prime-time cafe. I'm sure if you called dining services they could answer your questions. I have always found them to be very helpful.

The lunch menu is pretty decent. We always get the burger and it is pretty good and substantial. The Shakes are good too. The cars we have always sat in have had three rows of seats for a total of 6 people. In the center of the theatre are some picnic tables for large parties. Also, in the very back are round picnic style tables with umbrellas that look like they wood probably seat a party of 4 and work very well with strollers and high chairs. I noticed alot of families with little ones back there. I have always been a party of 2 but never saw a party of 4 or six have a difficult time socializing. Plus, the the movie screen is most of your entertainment. It's a good time! :thumbsup2

My hubby and the kiddos went last wdw trip and thought it was a lot of fun.We loved sitting in the cars, it really felt like you were at the drive-in because it's kind of dark in there and of course the big movie screen is in front of you. We thought the food was pretty good, something for everyones taste. :thumbsup2

I prefer 50's. My dd and I ate at Sci-Fi and weren't all that crazy about it. The food was just okay. I would eat at 50's and then try to fit in a mid-day snack...dessert...at Sci-Fi to get the atmosphere there.

We've eaten at both -- our DS, 7, HATED the Sci-Fi because he found the film clips very, very disturbing. I will say that I, too, was surprised at the emphasis on the "un-dead" and other "horror" film images. I think this place is great for adults and teens, who can find the movies funny, but for children old enough to watch and pay attention they are a little over-the-top, so you might want to keep that in mind....

we went to both of these last year. My husband is a HUGE 50s fan so both were a must do.

We had lunch at the sci-fi and were not very impressed at all. It smelt a bit dirty and the food was very ordinary and quite pricy for what it was. We're going back to florida this year and have missed sci-fi off our list. :confused3

50s primetime was fabulous, real food - we were quite desperate after 2 weeks of fast food - and the atmosphere was brilliant. There were 2 very noisy tables either side of us and we went even more typically british and went all quiet, but our server was great at getting us to join in. The strawberry milkshake was the best I have EVER had. We will be going back, at least once this next trip. :cheer2:

I have eaten at both and prefer the atmosphere of Sci Fi with the food of 50's Prime Time. My children love sitting in the cars and watching the old movies. My ds4 and dd2 have yet to go to Prime Time - we plan to "act up" a bit so that they have an enjoyable time watching mom and dad get into trouble. We are planning on both in December if I don't decide to drop Sci Fi for the Coral Reef (my dd's friend wants Coral Reef although she doesn't like seafood and is actually allergic to shellfish).

we ate at both also-- sci-fi is cool- but i didnt like the way we faced front- it was hard to have a conversation-- it thought the movies were not that interesting- not sure if a 6yr old would be that interested.

i thought our waitress at 50's was MORE entertaining than the movies at sci-fi!! :rotfl: I WANT TO GIVE A SHOUT OUT TO AUNT CLAIRE!! next time we are in the area- i swear we will visit! :lmao: (she gave us heck for not stopping by to see her more often!)
