I don't think that I've ever returned an item that gave a catalina before, but I have a lot of left over candy that I thought I would take back, as opposed to adding it to my hips. :o

The problem is it was the buy $15 of Hershey's get a $5 Catalina off your next purchase. Will that effect the return? I'm curious as to how that will work? Will I possibly only get back $10 instead of the $15 I spent? Has anybody here ever returned an item that gave a $ off you next purchase catalina?

are you talking about Walgreens? If so Wags it will be hit or miss, it is the official policy that you are to return the catalina FWIW. Anyplace else won't even ask. Wags probably won't ask either though.

Thanks! It was actually Fred Meyers. I figured I would just return the candy and see what happens. I really don't want or need all the left over candy sitting around. They can't have the catalina back. . .I already spent it. LOL! But if they want to deduct the $5 that will be ok. . .that's fair.

Yes, a catalina is that coupon that prints out at the register depending on what you bought.

I just wanted to add that I returned the candy no problem. :)

Ok, I just had to giggle a little bit this morning!! My DH works for Catalina Marketing, and that's his job to manage the databases for all the register coupons. Anyway, I've never heard anyone refer to those coupons as catalinas, so it just made me giggle. He's always trying to explain to people about the coupons, and lots of people just throw those away.

I'm glad someone asked bc I didn't have a clue what a catalina was either!

Yeah, the only catalina I know about was a Chevy and I was sure she didn't get a car for buying candy!

I always refer to them as Catalina's too. Sometimes the coupons are really useful ... other times you are like, "huh?"

I thought you got Catalina salad dressing. Glad to know I'm not the only one who didn't know!

I also work with catalina marketing. It watches what you purchase and prints coupons based on what you purchase. It may be a coupon for something you bought or for a competitor's product. So if you bought pampers diapers you might get a coupon for Huggies.
