I have a Park ticket that I have never used and I want to add the Water parks n more option to it but I do not want to use the park option on this ticket just the Water Park n more option, can I purchase this option at Downtown Disney or some other place?
The reason why we are not using this ticket this trip is we are able to purchase the Discounted Military tickets which cost a lot less then what I paid for the reg Disney Ticket.

I have another question too: Will I only be able to upgrade from a Child ticket to an Adult ticket after my now 10 yr old uses the ticket or can I also upgrade that at Downtown Disney, I'm asking this question for the same reason as above and I don't want to wait too long after he turned 10 to make this change.

Thanks

1- Yes. There are two Guest Relations at DTD.

2- Any Ticket booth or Guest Relations at WDW.

3- If the ticket has never been used, and the child is now over 10 yrs.
you will have to pay the difference between a child's ticket and an adult ticket.

If the ticket HAS been used when the child was still under 10 yrs., then the upgrade will be free.

Yes, either can be done at DTD Guest Relations.

so if I understand correctly if he has used the ticket they will most likely just upgrade it to an adult ticket for free but if he hasn't used the ticket then I will have to pay the difference which if my math is correct is around $19 + tax...did I do my math correctly?
Does anyone know if the difference between an adult ticket and a child ticket change over time or as the prices changes the gap between those tickets is always the same..

Does the old unused ticket already have the no-expiration option? If it doesn't, once you use it to go to a water park, the whole ticket will expire 14 days later. Can you add the water park option to the military ticket instead? Or maybe you would be better off just buying a stand-alone water park ticket.

The price difference will be the difference between the child's ticket and the adult ticket on the day you are using it. So that will change depending on what current pricing is.

Make sure you read the question above about the non expiring option - because that will make a big difference in what you should do.

You need to add the Water Park + More to your Military ticket NOT the regular Disney ticket. Otherwise, it will expire as the previous poster mentioned. It looks like it's only an additional $29 on top of the military ticket.

The ticket I have is a Military discounted non expiring 10 day hopper that I purchased at our ITT office before a price increase and I have never used it. I know I could add the water park and more option to my Military Salute ticket but I won't be staying long enough to use all 4 days and I was thinking I could take that $30 and just add the Water parks and more option to that other ticket and use a couple days this trip and save the rest.

Is this something I can do?

1- Yes. If he had used part of a non-expiring child's ticket in the past, after he turns 10 they WILL upgrade the remaining days of the ticket to "adult" for free.

2- Yes. The amount "officially" charged would be the difference between what a child's ticket cost WHEN YOU BOUGHT IT and what an adult ticket costs TODAY. Although it is possible that the CM will only charge you the difference between what a child's ticket cost TODAY and what an adult ticket costs TODAY. No way to know until you're at the ticket booth/Guest relations.

3- Changes about every year.

The price difference will be the difference between the child's ticket and the adult ticket on the day you are using it.

The unused child's ticket is a unique situation.

Now that the young person is 10 years or older, he can't ('legally") use the (as yet unused) child's ticket to enter the park, then upgrade.
So, the amount "officially" charged for the upgrade would be the difference between what a child's ticket cost WHEN IT WAS FIRST PURCHASED and what an adult ticket costs TODAY.

1- This sounds like a regular Magic Your Way Non-Expiring ticket, and if so, it can be upgraded and (unlike Military Salute tickets) does not have a fixed upcoming expiration date.

2- You first need to USE your 10-day ticket to go into a theme park BEFORE you add Water Parks Fun & More option. Then, the price to upgrade it will be $25, plus tax.

3- Yes, if you use the ticket to enter a theme park at least one time before upgrading.

I struggled over my answer due to the whole "used" (no charge to upgrade) vs "unused" (charge for upgrade) and went back and forth on that in my head for a while. Maybe I settled in the wrong place!

It's not really a big deal either way.

It's just one of those bits of minutiae that come into play with ticket rules.

(BTW, super DISmember and WDW ticket CM, Cheshire Figment has not posted on these boards in well over a month!!
I hope all is well with him!)

Thanks everyone for all your help to trying to answer some of these questions for me. So if I understand everyone correctly you are saying he can't enter the gates with the child ticket I have because he's over 9 now(because that's how I was going to upgrade it, go thru the gates then go to GS) and so I need to get it upgraded before we go into the parks, so where would you say is the best place to go that people have had the best luck with upgrading tickets?

Also I went and checked the date on this ticket and it seems I brought it back in 2007, so am I going to have to pay the difference between when I brought it back in 2007, to the now adult price on a 10 day non expiring ticket? ouch that's a lot because I think in 2007 this ticket cost around $377 + tax..(I guess that what happens when you put them away for safe keeping and forget you have them)

thanks

1- "Legally" correct.

2- Yes.

3- Any ticket booth or guest relations outside any park, the TTC, or two locations at DTD.

4- You'd pay the difference between a CHILD's 10-day non-expiring ticket (in 2007)
and the price an ADULT's 10-day non-expiring ticket (in 2014)
It really shouldn't be a terrific difference in price.

Hi Robo

Are you saying they would charge me the difference between a Child and Adult 2014 prices, because if they are charging me the difference between a Child non expiring hopper ticket that I paid around $377 for and a Adult non expiring hopper ticket 2014 which would be around $769, then that would be $389>>>>ouch....am I understanding this correctly...

Thanks

If you have the child 2007 price you paid, subtract it from the adult 2014 price.
You'd pay that difference.

Save the unused child ticket for a grandchild to use later as-is -- no upcharge involved.
