Does anyone know if the Pooh breakfast has been cancelled at Olivia's???? I recall reading but wanted to make sure before I called in the morning to make Pooh breakfast reservations!

Thanks........Won't be soon enough before I go "home"

According to Deb Wills, it ended last October.

Maybe some of those who frequent OKW wil let you know if it has recently been reinstated. If not, there are lots of character meals that feature Pooh and Friends. I'm sure you won't have any trouble finding one that works for your family.

As of the end of december last year, that was still the case. However, they do have a character meet and greet outside of Olivias, I don't remember the exact details though.

No character breakfast at Olivia's, but if you visit our Restaurant Board here on the DIS you will find all kinds of great info on character breakfasts elsewhere. My favorite is the Grand Floridian's with Mary Poppins, etc. Crystal Palace is great with Winnie the Pooh and friends, too. :)

I called last week and the only place that has Pooh and friends is the Crystal Palace. We were able to enjoy the character breakfast at Olivia's last year and were looking forward to doing it again this year. No such luck! :(

Thanks for the replies. I just wanted to do a Pooh breakfast at "home" on a day we chose to relax by the pool and enjoy OKW!!!

Bummer!

Dear Fellow Ohioan,
Unfortunately, I think that business decisions and cost saving measures need to be taken in response to the reduced attendance. Certainly where I work is going through the same, and vacation destinations have been greatly affected by the reduced travel. I read where there is a 25% reduction in park attendance, which is pretty substantial.

I wonder if it will ever recover, or there will continually be hesitation on some people's part to travel by air or be able to afford the more expensive vacation destinations like WDW given the our problems with the economy. I hate to see perks like these go as well, but I guess some decisions need to be made, and these are probably less painful than others.

My neighbor is going to be at disney next week and Crystal Palace was booked the whole week I believe for breakfast and lunch. Maybe things are picking up. I loved the Wilderness Lodge breakfast (my favorite of all the character meals we have tried) and I was certainly would have loved to try Olivia's since it would be so convenient. Maybe if demand stays high they will reinstate one of these.

I understand that Disney needs to make business decisions that will keep it in business and thriving. Just seems like a lot of them are being made here recently when park attendance is going up. There was some report that came out (forgive me for not having the link) that park attendance was up 27% from where it was last year at this time. Also, this is the first time we'll be going to Disney and not going to Cindy's for breakfast...we tried for everyday of our trip and it was sold out every day. Usually we get it after one or two tries. But 12 tries didn't get us a table!!

And for Disney to wait SOOO long to announce E ticket nights for May, just to cancel them is ridiculous! I'd have been a bit dissapointed, but more understanding if they had just announced that there would be none. But to give them, and then take them away is just a smack in the face.

Don't get me wrong. I still love Disney. And our trip will be great regardless of these changes.
