I am interested in planning a trip for the end of August. We would be 2A and 3C all under 10. My first choice would be PO. In order to get the free dining I understand you have to book the package through Disney. In regards to tickets, does it matter how many days you get for the tickets in relation to how many nights you stay? I am thinking we would stay Sunday through Saturday but would only want to do the parks for 4, maybe 5 days, not visiting on the two travel days. Can anyone answer this? Thanks!

You need to buy at least a one day base ticket, so you would be fine with your plan.

The price difference between a 5 day and a 7 day ticket is not that much. I always advise people to get the longer tickets, so they could visit a park on the evening when they get there, if they feel like it. The added flexibility would be worth it to me.

My understanding was that the dining plan was tied to the number of nights on site (with the purchase of at least a 1-day.)

There is only a $5 difference between 5 and 7 day base tickets. I think that I would also go with the 7 days for flexibility. I didn't even think of that originally.
