IF a offer comes out for free dining when we go (not until May), how does it work? Is it like the specials they offer for packages? I know some specials are only for a family of four and only certain resorts honor it....Are there rules to free dining too? We are a family of 7 but our 2 yo is free. Will we all get free dining?

They will often give the price for a family of 4 on the commercial, but that doesn't mean that you have to be a family of four to take advantage of it. Families of all sizes qualify for free dining (or any other specials)

For free dining the requirements have usually been a minimum 3 night stay and 2 day tickets for everyone 3 years and older in the room or on the reservation. It will be for specific resorts/room categories and for specific days. You must check in on a day included in the offer.

Dining plans (free or paid) are offered for any one 3 or older. Your 2 year old will not have a dining plan, but can share from everyone's plates. If you order food specifically for your toddler you will have to pay OOP. Some people upgrade their toddler's age to 3, pay for a park ticket and in that way qualify the 2 year old for the dining plan.

Whenever Disney posts a special offer there is usually an example. It might say "Book a 5 night vacation and get free dining or 30% off a room, etc." The actual requirements are usually less than their example.
