A couple of questions for anyone that has booked the Dolphin swim at Chankanaab Park on their own.

How far in advance did you book?( we sail Oct. 2004)

How much is the cost of the taxi ride from the dock to the park?

Is snorkel equipment included in the entrance fee for the park?

Are there lockers available for valuables?

Thanks in advance,
Jane

We booked ours a few months (5 or 6) in advance, but we had people book on board and were able to get in on our swim

The taxi to the park was about $10, they give you a voucher for the ride back so it's free

I don't know about the snorkel equiptmentment, but I don't think so

There are lockers there

Who gave you the vouchers? The taxi or the park? We are signed up for the dolphin swim 12/10/03 and are SOOOOO looking forward to it. Did you get the video? Was it personalized? Any info about this at all would be great. We got a great deal through Shoretrips.com that gave us free entrance into the park and free tickets for the seal show (hope that's good as well). I thought it would be $10 for the taxi each way, but if it's round trip that's even better!!

When you're leaving the park, people from the park are outside where the taxis are. If you tell them that you are on the Magic, they bring you up to a taxi, give the driver a voucher slip and the driver takes you back to port.
We did get the video and it is very customized. Each team has their won photographers and videographers. The videos have background music on them and the names of your dolphins on them. It is a great purchase and worth the price.
Entrance to the park is included in all excursions/ expeirences. It doesn't say that when you book through the park itself, but you find out when you get there.

JenKatt,
Are you saying that when you book your swim directly with the park, the entrance fee is included? I don't see any indication of this on their web site.
Thanks fo the info on the taxi and video.

Thanks fo the info on the taxi and video.

It is included, and no there isn't anything to indicate it on their website. My friend booked onboard by calling the park and he was told it was. When we got to the park, my hubby and I were ready to pay the entrance fee, only to be told when we went up to the check in desk that it was included. Jeff and I did the royal swim if it matters to anyone...

Surfergirl, I'm guessing you're on the 10/9 with us?

How strict are they about the age limit ?
The web site stated min. age is 8
My son is 5 will be almost 6 when we cruise, but is big for his age, also can swim/snorkle very well
can he do the royal dolphin swim?

Don't know about that. I know that from what I saw in the swim, there were few kids and those there were around 11 or older. I would either email them or call. There are other dolphin excursions, you can check out shoretrips.com for a listing by port

When you arrive at the park what proof you have to show that you booked the swim ?

I booked by internet and I get only a confirmation number by e-mail. Do I have to bring a copy with me ?

No we didn't need to show confirmation, they just took our names down

I booked the royal swim through shoretrips.com and got a confirmation to bring with me. In fact, they told me to bring two copies - one for the park and one for me. I am also bringing a copy that says we have been charged already. I think I read here on the boards somewhere someone had trouble when they got to the park.
