After our great experience with the Arizona trip, we are now considering the Costa Rica trip. Regarding the zip lining, my kids will never be 88 lbs, especially my younger one, before high school.... seriously, they are like string beans. I'm not worried about the height requirement really, but the weight. Has anyone done this with kids smaller than 88 lbs and still be able to do the zip lining? Maybe tandem?

Yes, they allow the smaller kids to go tandem. We went with a small 9 y/o boy and he went with one of the guys and he had a blast.

oh that is good to know. we are in the same boat with our daughters. We are booked on the December 2018 trip. so that's great to hear!

Yes, agree on the zip line for smaller kids. My girls were a little over 100 lbs (very thin, but tall for their age) and had no problems at all, and there was a 6-year-old boy on the tour who went on the zip line with us as well. I think for some of the runs he went tandem, but for the shorter ones they may even be able to go alone. The staff there were great and very efficient and knowledgeable.

Ditto on the awesome zip line guide/employees! For the younger kids in our group, they just hooked right up to them and took them tandem! My son was...probably about 80lbs and he wanted to go alone so he did. He only got stuck on one spot, just a bit before the platform because he lost momentum. They teach everyone how to turn around and "spider walk" your hands along the cable if you don't make it all the way over. He did great!
