? about BCV lockoff vs. ded. closet space and "wet bar"

Hello! This is my first time posting! We have been members since July of 2002 at BCV but I've been a "lurker" and finally decided I have questions I need answered from all of you experts!! Whooo-HOOO!!!!

Ok, on to my question. I noticed that the layout of the BCV and other resort dedicated 2 bedrooms are different. For example, the BCV has the connecting rooms at the front of the suite, which eliminates the extra closet space that you would get if you had a lock-off. Since we are taking my sister and her family down in July, we kind of need that extra closet space for strollers, etc. (we stayed in a VWL one-bedroom in Dec. and it was a very convenient closet). I thought I did read on one post in here somewhere that the dedicated 2-bedroom DOES have an extra walk-in closet in the studio. My other question is for the lock-off studio layout in the BCV. I would assume the studio has an additional refridgerator, cupboards, etc. just like a regular studio, but the dedicated has a "wet bar" of some sort? Sorry this is so long, but I appreciate your response!!! I am just so excited to finally post here!! My husband thinks I am a DVC addict! To tell you the truth I am, but I think I can only tell all of you that!

Hi Laura, and welcome! Now that you have posted here, please don't be a stranger.....

As far as your Q's are concerned, I can't be much help as I've never stayed at BCV.
The second bedroom in a dedicated 2br at VWL does not have a wet bar, fridge, or any of that stuff. The closet in the dedicated 2br is HUGE (at VWL).

We stayed in a dedicated 2 BR so i can't tell you about lock offs. I was worried about the closet, but the entry way has a lot of space, plus next to the tv in the LR would be a good place to store things. There is an extra closet in the Studio part- it takes the place of the wet bar- so in a dedicated you only have the main kitchen but you gain the extra closet! Welcome to the addicts club!

Something else really nice about the dedicated 2br at BCV is that the second bedroom has double sinks! I love having double sinks, so this was a nice surprise for me.

We stayed in a 2-BR lock-off at Christmas and, yes, the studio kitchenette is like other studios at DVC properties. And, yes, you will miss the extra closet space!!!!!

Personally, I thought that the larger entry ways were a waste of space. Very pretty, but I would have rather had more closet space.

If we had a 1-BR, I would have missed the typical walk-in closet in the master BR. Not a lot of storage space in the 1-BR.

IMHO, you will need the dedicated 2-BR.
