Hi,

I have a question about the baggage claim at MCO. We are from the Netherlands and fly to MCO. I have read that you claim your baggage at the first terminal, go through customs, give you baggage to somebody, go on the train and claim you baggage again at the main building.

Is this right?

And is it possible to keep your baggage with you at the train (so eliminating the second baggage claim). We will travel quit lightly. We both have one bag (i don't know the english word, but a translation would be 'weekendbag', it's not as large as a suitcase and it's from a soft material :smooth: ).

Thanks

Thanks,

But I already found this site, but it doesn't answer the question if you have to use the second baggage claim and if you can take your baggage with you on the train.

HI There,

I am pretty sure that you have to turn your bags in a second time to go
through a security check.

The first time you claim your bags it has just come off the plane
in the first terminal,Then I believe you go through US customs.
Then you turn your bags back in.
Then you take the monorail to the second terminal.

At the second terminal you go down to the first level to bagage claim.
The second time it has gone through security.

I really hope this is in the right order it has been two years since we had to
go through this.

I hope this helps

Sounds right tracycd.... that is what the airport website says that the bag is checked twice....the first time when you get off the plane with Customs then you give them back the luggage and you take the monorail train to the main terminal where you can now pick up and keep your luggage.

I think this might clarify things a bit, if you checked your baggage, you will have to put it through to the second baggage claim. If you have a carry-on bag, you will be able to take it with you through customs and will not have to give it back.
