I personally have a mushed up twisted opinion about abortion. If you understand any of this, I'll love you forever.

I personally think a woman has a right to choose. However, I myself don't agree with abortion. I could never live with myself if I ever had one. There are women who don't want to have children. Yes, they could always put the child up for adoption. But, what about the women who fear childbirth? What about the women who aren't healthy enough to have children? What about the women who aren't "emotionally ready" for a pregnancy? What about the women who don't have the mentality to have children?

Once again, I personally could never have an abortion. There are, however, women who would consider it under a huge plethora of circumstances, besides the ones I've mentioned. These women have choices, and abortion should be one of them.

I completely agree with you. That is one of the reasons why children are abused, because the parent wasn't ready to have the child and doesnt know how to take care of it. another reason abortion could be a good thing, is if the girl was raped and a baby resulted, she probably wouldn't want to have the baby because the child could remind her of her rapist and that can also result in child abuse. and after being raped the person that was raped is normally going through some rough emotions and can become mentally unstable, and that is not a good enviornment to one have baby and two for the baby to come into.
But I think that if someone was careless while having intercourse then they should have to deal with the consequences, unless like you said before they are not mentally or physically ready for the actual birth. but if they aren't ready to take care of the kid, well then that is their problem and should put it up for adoption.

Another agreement. I am pro-choice, only because there are certain circumstances that I feel abortions should be allowed, such as rape, or if the woman medically can't carry a baby. I think it's an awful thing, and I know I will never have one if I am ever faced with that choice (I hope not!). But if a teenaged girl is careless one night, she should have the baby and give it up for adoption if need be.

I am one of those in between. I do not believe in abortion for me, what so ever. Even if my health was at risk, I would have the baby. BUT!!! I feel under medical circumstances or a person being raped, those who were on Birth control but were in that small percentage that still get pregnant and possibly other things I am not thinking of, I am pro choice. When it comes to carelessness, such as those who don't want kids, unplanned pregnancy and people just not ready, I have two words birth control. I do not feel abortion is a method of birth control, either.

have you ever had to read or read "a modest proposal" by jonothan swift? where he suggests an extreme resolution to overpopulation and famine in ireland? in it, his "extreme resolution" was to eat the children. and he gave, many, many reasons as to why this would work. of course he wasn't serious, he was just trying to prove a point.

we recently had to do the same thing in my english class with a serious problem. my group chose abortion. i have the paper still, if anyone is mildly interested, but in it we had to give our REAL solution to the problem. we suggested that instead of abortion, let the child live, it can be given to a loving foster home that actually wants a baby, or to a family that can't have one of their own.

sure, the argument usually is "what if she was raped?!" or "what if the woman would die?!" its not the baby's fault the girl was raped, why should it be punished? and if the woman is told "you're probably going to die delivering this baby" i think then maybe she's got some serious thinking to do: give it a go and see what happens? knowing my life could end and my child could have a chance to make a better one?

every life deserves a chance, doesnt it?

Anyways, I only wanted to hear this because today in Bible class we talked about this girl my teacher met. She was an unsuccessful abortion. She said that the mother injected saline solution to burn the baby's outsides and insides but it failed to work. When her water broke, the abortionist wasn't there to strangle the baby (the baby was still alive when she was born) so the mother was rushed to the emergency room, and gave birth to this girl. 42 years later, she met her birth mother. She said that her mother seemed very ashamed of her. Kind of sad

I'm pro-choice, all the way. It is not somebody else's decision, nobody else's right to tell another what to do with their child. That being said, I support the life of the child in most circumstances, abortion should not be used if the mother is too lazy or slept around without protection. You know, that's your fault and you have to take up the consequences.
