Why kill a baby just because the mother was raped?
That was my point.
Why kill a baby just because the mother was raped?
Seeing as I'm already in trouble with the mods, I will not reply what I wanted to, but instead I will only say.I'm pretty sure this thread is about to go crazy. Anyway we have a population crisis as it is, why not kill off a few fetuses for the good of the Earth.
I'm pretty sure this thread is about to go crazy. Anyway we have a population crisis as it is, why not kill off a few fetuses for the good of the Earth.
I was just making a point on one extreme, and what will happen. Starting a thread talking about abortion, or religion, or any other touch subject will just lead to multiple pages of 1 vs. another. It's not going to solve anything.
The only way for this thread or anything like it to be civil is to have the question followed by each persons response.
Are you for or against abortion?
Pro-Choice
Pro-Life
Pro-Life
Pro-Choice
Pro-Choice
You'll have the Pro-Life people saying it's disgusting, degrading, horrible, murder, immoral, that it's a precious beautiful life, that it's against the Bible and the almighty God.
Then you'll have the Pro-Choice saying it's part of the womans body, I don't consider it to be a human life, we live in a free country and that choice is a freedom, etc...
It's just one giant loop, and it will never get anywhere. No matter how much you want it, there will never be any compromise to please both sides. Now this thread will eventually get buried under the other different threads to come. And within a few weeks someone will post.
Abortion are you for or against?
And we shall start all over again.
Did you know more fetuses were killed total than in our world wars?
That's almost statistically impossible, unless you count involuntary fetus deaths, which include still births, and will happen naturally, no matter how well the mother treats herself. My grandmother suffered through a still birth, and she is completely pro-life.
From NRLC.com (National Right to Life) Total abortions from 1973 to 1998 -- 38,010,378 ESTIMATE
Total CONFIRMED Abortions, 20,129,459
37,508,686 World War I deaths, estimate
56,125,262 World War II deaths, estimate
Both taken from archives.gov
As you see, you are wrong.
And it's good for the Earth via the "Natural Selection" view. This states that weak die off, and strong live on. It's a basic dog-eat-dog world of the view that many intelligent people believe. Namely, the republican, Richard Keegan.
I do not agree with him, of course, but the idea is not absurd, as you say it is. The idea that IS absurd is complete pro-life.
Saying this equates to, "This is pointless."
If it's so pointless, why do people argue about it?
Clearly it has meaning. If anything, to educate the ignorant. Or, more importantly, to make people stop listening to their parents and start thinking for themselves...
Um, lets try to keep this a 'clean' discussion, okay guys?
I personally have a mushed up twisted opinion about abortion. If you understand any of this, I'll love you forever.
I personally think a woman has a right to choose. However, I myself don't agree with abortion. I could never live with myself if I ever had one. There are women who don't want to have children. Yes, they could always put the child up for adoption. But, what about the women who fear childbirth? What about the women who aren't healthy enough to have children? What about the women who aren't "emotionally ready" for a pregnancy? What about the women who don't have the mentality to have children?
Once again, I personally could never have an abortion. There are, however, women who would consider it under a huge plethora of circumstances, besides the ones I've mentioned. These women have choices, and abortion should be one of them.
Pro Life but with a few exceptions.
Not rape, or if the mom just doesn't feel "resposible enough", or even if the mother is very young.
If the mother is sick, seriously sick. The baby could be seriously messed up when it came out. And might end up living a long, painful life. Then I think it's right that they have an abortion.
Whoa, let me get passed all those contradictions to yourself you stated.See, it is not YOUR CHOICE, who are you to judge who should or shouldn't do it, or who it is okay for?
This is exactly the point. People do it for different reasons. If they are stupid reasons to you or me, then they will have to deal with it for the rest of their lives.
But as you stated above, there are supposedly valid reasons for it. That is why it should stay a choice. Our choice, not yours or anyone elses. It is the womans right to decide. Not yours or mine.
There are lots of other choices besides abortion. Abortion is never your only choice.
