Abortion came up because we were discussing under what circumstances it is wrong to take drugs.

I came under-attack for making a distiction between what you do to your body with drugs early in a pregnancy as opposed to later in a pregnancy.

Sorry about the sidetracking on the other thread- I didn't intend it. I just felt under attack by a pitbull and felt the need to respond.

I just figured if we're going to debate the topic, then lets debate the topic.
Are all political threads considered by people to "stirring up trouble"? Or just this one issue?

I thought it was kind of an interesting sideline to the drugs topic -- I mean, maybe in a wider scope we were talking about individual rights - the rights you have with your own body, and at what point the government can step in and take away the rights.

I'm pro-choice. There are always exceptions. Life threatening situations for the mother, take precidence over a life that hasn't even begun yet.

Ex. My friend was given the choice. She had cervical cancer and it was spreading fast. She could go on chemo to try to control it immediately but it would abort the baby. She could abort it and save herself and have another baby someday. Or she could leave it and she would be long dead by the end of the term. She chose to have an abortion. I'd rather have a live friend than a dead one and my friend was already alive while the fetus had barely begun living (she was only about 6 weeks) and wouldn't be able to live on its own).

There are always exceptions.

I won't be coming back to this thread but this particular topic tends to upset me.
