I was able to secure the member discount at VB for October. 8 nights at $135 per night plus tax-for an inn ocean view room.

Is this normal to be able to get this so far out?

Also, it got me thinking. Why add on points when you can just take advantage of the member discount? In this case, is using the member discount better than using pts? I'm too sick to do the math right now.:(

Your opinions are appreciated.:D

Hi, floridafam. I would still think that points are cheaper. I know some here disagree, but I figure that my points actually cost about $6/point. Eight nights in a VB Inn Room (assuning only 2 are weekends) is 106 points. At $6/pt, that comes out to $636 for the whole eight days, tax included.

I am not sure what the norm is as far as member discounts are concerned.

Have hun at VB! We will also be there in October, but later in the month.

MG,

When will you be there in October? We will be there from Oct. 24 to Nov. 1 or 2.

Our children are really excited that we will be there for Halloween again. Well, so am I.:p

I guess we will see you there. Please don't tell me you have a Beach Cottage. They had one available when I called but we decided we just didn't need it as there are only 4 of us.

You aren't going to be there for Halloween? It's a really great day to be at VB.

DH wants to take advantage of the nice bike paths in Vero Beach and train in the heat. On Nov. 2 we check out and head over to Panama City Beach for Ironman Florida.

See you in the Green Cabin Room.:sunny:

I would love to be there for Halloween, but VWL and MNSSHP won out over VB.

It will only be my wife and me, so a 1br it is!
We do, however, have a cottage reserved for our upcoming April trip. :D

Green Cabin Room.... OHHHH YAAAA!!!! :earseek:

The less people that are at VB, the more chance we have at winning the costume contest.
:p

Our kids dressed up last year and the people who won received baskets full of goodies and Disney Dollars! I told my DH I would dress up for Disney Dollars.

It was a really fun day with pumpkin carving contests, costume contests and then the party at the pool and trick or treating.

I took lots of pictures but I am still waiting for DH to post them.

After the Halloween party we spent some time in the Green Cabin Room playing checkers. We can't wait to go back.

We all had a blast at MNSSHP, too.

Yes, I would love to see them!
Perhaps one of these years we will spend Haloween at VB.
On our last trip, we discovered that late October was our favorite time to go. We loved F&W, and MNSSHP. The weather and crowds were 'just right'. Not too hot, not too cold. Not too crowded, but not a ghost town with many attractions closed.

Perhaps one of these years we will reverse things and do VWL first, and VB on the 31st.
