Abercrombie had shirtless male employees working yesterday...

Too bad we don't have an Ambercrombie store near by.;) j/k I don't shop there, way too expensive!

I don't see anything wrong with a shirtless man, you see the same thing at a beach, pool etc....just because they're in the mall instead doesn't make it offensive to me.

Nice to see they're using a man to gawk at for a change instead of a woman ;)

I have to agree with Samirella about the sizing. DD is usually an 8 and has worn as low as a size 4 there. She actually buys some of the shirts from th kids Abercrombie still.

Hmm... Is this a nationwide thing? I think I need to run to A&F at lunch tomorrow.

Finally, using guys for eye candy, rather than just the ladies. Hey I call this equality. :cool1:

I could not fit one of my legs into a size 6. :rotfl: :rotfl: :rotfl:

I'm not sure what Hollister clothing is, but I have found that at "mall" stores like A&F, Express etc., sizes tend to run REALLY small.

I'd like to know where you're shopping, then. I wear one to two sizes smaller in Abercrombie AND Express clothing than I do in other clothing. If sizes in these stores run REALLY small then I guess sizes in other stores run REALLY REALLY small. Express, Guess, Arden B and Bebe are the only stores where I can find clothes to fit me correctly.

I think it may have something to do with the fact that I'm about double your size. ;)

But I have been able to fit into my size at places like Filenes, Macy's and the places I typically buy clothing Wal Mart and Target. I can't fit into my size, when they even have it, which is rare, at Express, Arden B etc.

My thought s exactly!!!!! Guess I'm in the minority here but I'm always happy to see attractive, shirtless men......

When we were at Mall of American after Thanksgiving they had the models at the entrance to the store. The male models were getting much more attention than the females. For $1 you could have a picture taken with them, the $1 went to charity. My DDs 14 and 16 got a big kick out of it. The guys were hot. I didn't have a problem with it. About a month later they had models at our local mall. Even though the DDs liked the models, they never did go in the store and never buy anything there.

HOT, and it's working. You're talking about it. You're still thinking about it a day later. You're curious about it. It's edgy, it seems almost offensive. Their target market (girls 14-21) is FASCINATED by it, they come in for an unobtrusive closer look, to check it out from the corner of their eyes. Extremely intelligent marketing.

Jean-Paul was hired by AF to do that at Short Hills (NJ) Mall a few times. The money is fabulous. He bought a semester's worth of law school books on two days of walking around shirtless.

oh they did this at Emerald Square at Christmas. Shirtless men wearing Santa hats and tight black pants and you can get your picture taken with them for $1
It made me very merry!

LOL! Y'all are too funny =)

Another good example of the time proven marketing adage: "Sex Sells".

Does that mean they shouldn't expect male shoppers to wear shirts either? Just asking. How about in supermarkets? Schools? Just wondering where the line is drawn, or if there is one. :confused3

I've seen them at the mall too. Didn't really think too much about it at the time. I just always think it's amusing how the model "look" seems to be to appear "unhappy". Or is that supposed to be "sexy"?

Ohhhh boy, I see this one going the way of the Hooters thread. :rotfl:

Ya know, this is just like anything else............if you don't like it, don't look. If you "think" something is "dirty", then it is.........to you.

Next, we'll need to stop the JCPenney catalog because they have photos of men, women and children in THEIR UNDERWEAR!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! And some unsuspecting child may look without their parent's permission..... ;)

Near my house there's an outdoor mall that has an Abercrombie store. I was walking by and noticed that they had a guy without his shirt on just standing there and a girl in a bikini top. I thought it was rather strange since it was about 20 something degrees outside. :earseek: People walking by just looked at them like "aren't you cold?" and "are you crazy, it's freezing outside!" I think it's a very odd way to attract customers.

I have never dated a man named Jean-Paul. I begin to think I may have missed something there. :p

Crankyshank: add me to the merry list! ::yes::

I'm happy to report I am indeed a prude. I believe the line was drawn long ago...perhaps this will ring a bell?? "No shoes, no shirt, no service!"

But they are not there to receive service, but to offer it in the form of yummy looking men for me to look at, in return for hopefully enticing me to buy something overpriced. Lucky for me, my eyes can function independently from my wallet. Lucky for them, lots of other people's don't.

except these were models hired by the store to attract customers on Valentine's Day weekend so I think "No shoes, no shirt, no service!" did not apply as they were not shopping. Therefore, no service required.
