ABD Backstage Magic - Summer 2010 Edition!

Also, Friday night a couple of us are doing a semi-late dinner at Plaza Inn, then hanging out there to watch the fireworks. Let me know if you're interested and I'll get you details.

Tom

Wayne messaged me and said he might be interested in joining us tonight. Anyone else?

We'll probably eat around 7 or 7:30. We usually try to grab a table or two on the Main Street side (as opposed to the Tomorrowland side) in the area nearest the corn dog truck.

I also hope some of you are able to make the meet tomorow.

We just finished our final breakfast and had our last hugs and goodbyes. Some folks are doing a last minute park run (before heading off on flights) and others are staying a few extra days (like me).

I officially declare this to be a wonderful and magical success!

Glad that you had a wonderful time. :)

I'll be heading off to take this same tour on August 8th and cannot wait! :yay::yay::yay:

I'm on the plane back to Georgia. Fabulous trip. Thank you to all my fellow adventurers for playing a huge part in that "fabulousness". :goodvibes. Trip report to come.

I just reading Kevin and John's taunting thread. I can't even think how they will be able to make the trip even better...whatever it is, I believe them when they say heads will explode.

Mike and I just arrived home safely... But Continental THINKS (hear the sarcasim in my voice) our bags never left Chicago.... After a wonderful and moving trip now I need the stress of thinking my Mickey's of Glendale and Club 33 Merchindice is now missing..... I am Fuming....

Oh no! I hope they find your bags soon. I would be panicked myself until they were. Every time I've had a bag go missing, they weren't going to commit to them being found until they were on the way to me in a delivery vehicle. Hopefully they are found and They are just being maddeningly vague. Keep us posted!

We got home and are planning to collapse now! Everyone made this such an amazing trip!!

Wow - Wayne - I'm impressed you posted as much as you did during the trip!

This was completely AMAZING and I loved every single second. I'm completely and totally exhausted (no sleeping on the plane for me) but I'm still on a high. A full trip report to come which will help me relive the magic too. I can't wait to hear what the big ABD 2011 news is - Christy is right, whatever it is I'm sure it will be mind blowing!!

Rob and Mike - hope you get your bags back soon!!

OMG!!!! That is the worst news!!! We feel terrible for you Rob! :sad1:
LAX gave me heart failure, too. We got in a fight w/ the guy at LAX curbside check-in.

He refused to let us pay for the overweight bag and wouldn't check our luggage unless I rearranged the bags. Those of you who sat at our table at breakfast know how I feel about this. I start unpacking in a FURY, until I stood up and banged my head on the metal counter. Now I'm sitting curbside, crying, "Why didn't you just let us pay the $50?" Jeff, seeing me get hysterical, told me to go into the terminal and sit down.

When I got inside the airport, I realized my wallet (with my ID) was now missing. We had to get the checked bags back to go through them AGAIN to see if I dropped it in there. Verrry long story short, I had thrust the wallet at Jeff while I was repacking. He put it in his back pocket, but we both had forgotten about it after I slammed my head on the counter. The man didn't ask anyone else while we were there to repack their cases, btw.

What a way to come home. Rob, we both have our fingers & toes crossed for you to have a happy ending to this story. Please let us know how this turns out.

Hey guys - glad to hear that the trip was wonderful but sorry to those of you that had issues at the airport. Not the way you want to end a fantastic trip.

Rob - I really do hope that you get your luggage back soon. I'm flying Continental back from Vegas following our tour which begins in one week.

I do have a quick question regarding the WOC viewing. Can you tell me what time you got there for the 9pm showing? Was your guides with you or did they give you the fastpasses earlier in the day? I can't wait to see this show! :goodvibes

Thanks,

meg

Meg - Our guides got the fastpasses for us but didn't go to see the show with us (the first time we saw it). We got the passes earlier in the day. Folks were arriving by 7:30 to get a good viewing location. We saw the show two nights from the bridge. Very good location...and not as many people.

Rob: Keeping my fingers crossed that you and Mike get your bags!!

Stacy: What an awful and experience! I'm sorry it was such an ordeal.

Just a fun picture before the full trip report and pictures begin...

After I read this, we checked out the thread. We signed up again! We just couldn't help it; we loved touring with you all so much. We miss you all already!:grouphug:

Ok just got a call our luggage just arived at Newark and they are sending it to our house. It should be here in 90 min.... keep your fingers crossed that it's our luggage....

Glad to see the ABD's and their luggage are making it home. Anne & I got home after 17 hours of travel, less eventful than most. It was odd that we could not check in on line Fri nite, could not get our boarding pass from Denver to Milw at Orange County, get to Denver our flight not listed on the depart board. Went to a nearby gate and they couldn't find our flight. We to the counter and got boarding passes and given the gate, but a different 2 hour later flight was on the screen instead. It all worked out and on time. Who thought we left the ToT in CA? It followed us to Denver. Jeff and Stacy, they didn't even weigh our 2nd bag (right at 50#, we think), the one with 3lbs of fresh lemons.

Wow - I'm so sorry you had such a horrible time at LAX! I remember how much you didn't want to open and repack your bags in front of everyone at the airport! I hope your head has recovered from the pounding on the counter. I'm pretty sure LAX is the gateway to Hell itself after our horrible time there. At least we managed to get to our gate just in time, only for the flight to leave 2 hours late. Apparently they chose to have no baggage handlers available despite the thousands of people leaving on Delta at that hour, so nobody was available to load the plane and everything sat on the tarmac for over an hour. We were on the plane at the gate for about 1 1/2 hours. Our connecting flight left while we were still in the air on the first flight.

ok it was a bitter situation with our luggage. we got it back but everything is soked in it. it must have been left out in the rain in Chicago.. everything is drying out now. some things got ruined like everything that was paper.... so no park maps for me and my journal was ruined now I must write my trip report from memorie. so it will take longer than I expected to post trip my trip report here. but thank god I got everything back.... was worried about my MOG and Clubb 33 Merch... but it all seems to be there.

Yes I feel really bad for all of us that had such a wonderful adventure to have that be the last memorie for all of us... hopefully when we write our trip reports we will recall and have happier memories and forget our troubles of leaving such a wonderful time. Mike and I had cereal this morning and it felt empty not being able to associate with all of our new expanded family. breakfast jsut seemed so empty this morning with out you guys...

I already miss you all!!!!

Ok I'm vaclemted now.....

Love Rob and Mike
