ABD Backstage Magic 4/17 - 4/22/11

So I rethought my to-do list. Melissa, your line of thinking got me thinking about my visit to the dentist. My tooth actually feels fine and never hurt - I have a bit of a rant about the dentist on the community board. I canceled my appointment.

I updated the hair appointment to a nail appointment instead. Note to everyone - ignore any gray hairs you see on me

Weather looks great! We had an 80 degree day here yesterday so I was able to test run some of the spring/summer clothes! It's going to get into the 40s here this weekend. "nana nana boo boo! - I'm going to LA instead!"

This sounds like me.... I went to the dentist today for a check up/cleaning... now I have a tooth ache. My hair appt. is tomorrow. I still need to grocery shop for the family and get Stella's closet in order so she can easily find school clothes. I can't believe we leave in just a few days!!!!!

We're talking about getting together for dinner on Saturday night. So far, we have Yvette & Emiel, Nancy & family... Would anyone else be interested? We're thinking maybe around the Hollywood/Highland area since most of you won't have transportation...

Who's up for a pre-ABD trip dinner? Would 8pm be okay? We'll probably be running around until that time.

I'm game to meet to hang out if I'm still awake LOL! I prob won't eat as that day I'm hitting In and Out Burger! Plus it will be 11:00 pm to me! I'd like to visit with people though if my eyes are still open after a long travel day!!!

I understand that.... I will have to stay up as LATE as I can. I usually get up at 3:30 to 4:00AM (no alarm necessary... usually) which means I would be up at 1:30 to 2.00AM (CDT) unless I can somehow shut off my mental alarm... one way is to stay up late (at least for me)... which is probably early for everyone else.

I love traveling west because then I am usually up so much earlier than I normally would be. I'm hoping to stick to the same schedule and go to bed around 10PM as we normallly are up until midnight central time. We hope to have Steph in bed early enough too. That way we can be up and fresh by 6AM (8AM central time - which is normal for us)

It's also confession time: We haven't packed yet. Anything. Does a pile of stuff (3 t-shirts, DVDs for the plane, a new tube of deodorant, nasal spray, and and a new outfit still in the shopping bag) in the spare room count as progressing toward packing?

If California Pizza Kitchen ends up being the choice for Saturday night... you might want to go to their website and register (left side... little more than half way down). They will send you a coupon for $5.00 your next purchase of $15.00 or more. I picked the Hollywood CA as my preferred location not knowing if it was location specific. It does not appear to be. The email also only allows you to view the coupon twice. I saved it out as a PDF and that eliminated that issue. The coupon is good for two weeks.

Hey gang! Can't wait to see everyone this weekend. It will be a welcome treat after all the stuff I'm going through this week. I have a sitter for Saturday and can do things for part of Sunday, before the doings get started. If anyone wants to join in activities, let me know. I haven't had time to read all of your thread!

OK - Jeff and I are 90% packed. I just need to add my makeup, hair stuff and 2 pairs of jeans we are washing right now.

We didn't pack Stephanie's stuff yet. She has her own sense of style and I don't want to mess with that! I'll let her pick it out tomorrow.


I found myself packing a lot of layering items - t-shirts with a cardigan/hoodie. It seems the high is going to be around 70ish all week. Strangely enough, that is how the weather in WI has been all week. So I'm getting accustomed to this perfect weather. But it's cool in the morning and evenings. I also packed a few nice outfits for dinners in the evening - especially for at Napa Rose.

Oooh! It's so real now that we have 2 suitcases packed!
