ABCs of Trip Reporting, Pt. 2-Life Can Be Crappy and Then You Move On (3/7)

Wow, you had quite a day!!! :goodvibes

It sounds like you made peace with FW a bit during that evening. There are things that you enjoy there. :goodvibes

I like your fountain pictures and what a great moment that it was playing your song! Which one is it? I would like to find out what kept you running even if you did not want to.

Did you see the HM at the spot where they take your picture in TT? You did not mention that one? :confused3 But it is only partial visible in your picture...

And finally: you weren't serious with your question wether taking the monorail to the TTC might be faster, I hope! One important thing to remember: There are NO busses to Disney Resorts from the TTC!!! And the second thing is an important rule of thumb you learn when using public transportation on a daily basis: a route which requires you to make a connection will always be longer than a direct route! :thumbsup2 I am sure the CM was very happy however to have a conversation with you (who wouldn't be, it's always a treat to talk to you... :goodvibes).

I have never been interested in pins (sorry, Tracy!) because I know it is undoubtedly an addictive and expensive habit that I didn’t want to start. But now I had not only one but 2- one to keep, one to trade.

My kids LOVED pin trading! So what I did is bought/bid for pins on ebay and I got them fairly cheap! Just watch what the shipping costs are. Also try Mousepins Online I think that is what it's called if you sign up for there email alerts they'll let you know when they have grab bag specials. So there is a way to pin trade cheaper than you thought!

My son collected Disney Villians and my DD collected Chip and Dale! They had such a good time! They both have their lanyards hanging in there rooms and there 17 and 14! I think if we ever get to go again as a family they will pin trade again I'm sure of it.

Hi... Just stopping by to say I am just catching up and joining in. I am loving your TR. You are a great writer and I am looking forward to reading what other adventures you are going to find!

...false alarm. I found it. On the previous page.

I like the hidden Mickey search on Figment :)

Yeah, I knew you were on the road. I heard from a little man-bird that you had a Meet.... Looked for a pic on FB, but couldn't find it. My touring haiatus was short-lived.... More sometime later today.

The picture is up! I tagged Tim in that one, so hopefully you can find it. My wife tried tagging me on the complete trip album so that my FB friends could see and comment on the pictures, but I'm not sure if it worked.

I got to meet Tim (that's nice) and Chris (DisDadDoc) at Chris' home in CT on our way back. We had a great time, and I wish we could have hung out longer. I even got to meet the one and only Juliana! :lovestruc When I asked her what her favorite Disney ride was, she said, "Everything!" :thumbsup2

I'm sure I'll post it again...I'll probably do a New England TR on the Disdads.com page at some point.

I wish he was happier about it! But seriously, the salary offered is really only something we can BARELY live on. It will pay the bills and that's about it- no vacays, no braces for the kids, no dinners out. UGH! The media does not realize (or report) that although the benefits are good, the pay is FAR below what the private sector is paying. He worked with the State for 12 years before we left so know the gig. Stable, but low paying.

::yes::

We're paddling the same canoe, sister. I know you guys will be faithful stewards of what you're given...and when you do that, you'll always be blessed with enough to take care of your needs.

LiesaDay1377.jpg

Beautiful! Great shot! And with a POC too! :thumbsup2

I pulled the covers of shame over my head and had a regeneration cycle that apparently was enough to enable another round of fun.

I do not like the cone of shame.

Glad to have the crowds “over there”, and the entirety of FW almost completely to myself, I was free to explore un-elbowed and with no waits. AT. ALL! It was a beauteous thing, it was.

::yes::

If I didn't like fireworks so much, I'd be there with you. I am thankful for the parades during the day that distract people from the rides.

After acting like a complete idiot at the Seas, it was time to visit another Pavilion and act like a complete idiot there.

:woohoo: I knew there was a reason we get along so well! :rotfl2:

Seriously people, WHO actually voluntarily rides Imagination twice, no 3 times, in a row, without getting off so they can get better pictures?

Uh...

Am I the only one who thinks this is funny?

LiesaDay1395.jpg

Nope, I laughed too! :lmao:

Nice work on all of the HM's in this chapter! :thumbsup2

Where to next? The Fountain is on the way “over there”, so I stopped. AND hallelujah! The Fountain played “MY SONG”!! The one that kept me jogging when I really didn’t want to. The song, that makes me smile every time I hear it. I don’t know the name of it, but it is a great orchestral piece that has some amazing brass parts in it.

I LOVE the fountain show. The various songs they play are all right up my alley (most come from movie scores, which I listen to all the time). I found the list of songs they play at one point. I'll have to see if I can find that again. I know one of the songs is from James Horner's score for The Rocketeer, which is a great piece.

And I think the pictures look good!

There are two HMs in the corrosion room and I managed to get the one on my side of the car. Cool Beans!! This one was really a treasure to capture, and one I had been looking forward to for a long time to get.

Nice work! :thumbsup2

On the way out, I thought I’d feel what it is like to sit in a new car. Haven’t done that in a while. Like since I was a spoiled teen and my parents bought me a Mazda 626 for graduation. After that I got married and life became real.

What?? That's supposed to happen at marriage?? Nobody told me this! Does this mean I have to buy my family actual Christmas presents instead of giving unlimited "wishes"?

Warning! Another MORONIC MOMENT APPROACHING!

popcorn::

Wanting to make things right, I went over to Guest Services and told my sob story and confessed that I had indeed just eaten a free meal at Disney.

At that point, they should have said, "Dear, everyone here is doing the free dining deal. The Ragu is on us." :wizard:

Mary? What did that CM do for Baker and his family? Enquiring minds want to know!

congrats on the job that is exciting news.

and way to go on all the hidden mickeys...i have found a few on my own from just looking and see what others have listed on the boards...but candi said next trip she will buy the book for me and parker to do together.

your breadsticks sound good...candi is craving pizza this time around so we eat it way more than normal..which is causing me to like it alot more, and we are always looking for new places to try....but still have our local favorites.

we are even going to purdue this weekend, to hit up there make your own pizza joints in one of the dorms with my BIL...

Hey Liesa... I'm caught up on the last 2 posts but no banter. :sad2: {EDIT}I didn't realize there was another post yesterday.:headache:

I'm glad you were able to purchase most of your trinkets on this day. You picked out some beautiful pieces!

I KNEW Tate was a BOY!!!!! You spoke about 'HIM' and 'HE' a lot in that post. I did get a little worried when HE was snuggling up with that German guy though.

Hope your ankle is feeling better. :thumbsup2

Wow, you had quite a day!!! :goodvibes

It sounds like you made peace with FW a bit during that evening. There are things that you enjoy there. :goodvibes

I sort of did. Still my least favorite park-tied with DHS, but I can say the difference between touring with NO crowd and with crowds made a HUGE positive impact on my impression. The think I like most there is the BGM which I captured a little of.

I like your fountain pictures and what a great moment that it was playing your song! Which one is it? I would like to find out what kept you running even if you did not want to.

I need to look it up and find it. I'm pretty sure I can find it on parktunes.com; I'll let you know.

Did you see the HM at the spot where they take your picture in TT? You did not mention that one? :confused3 But it is only partial visible in your picture...

NO! I didn't know there was there (don't even know where they take the picture); I'll go back and consult my book. Where is it in my picture?

And finally: you weren't serious with your question wether taking the monorail to the TTC might be faster, I hope! One important thing to remember: There are NO busses to Disney Resorts from the TTC!!! And the second thing is an important rule of thumb you learn when using public transportation on a daily basis: a route which requires you to make a connection will always be longer than a direct route! :thumbsup2 I am sure the CM was very happy however to have a conversation with you (who wouldn't be, it's always a treat to talk to you... :goodvibes).

No, I wasn't completely serious. I was more just generally asking if that bus was indeed the "quickest" way home. I waited for him to tell me if there was a "secret" way that I didn't know about. YOu never know. :confused3

I CAN only imagine what kind of fumes she's cooking up over the parents who were "so irresponsible"... But that's for her to deal with as best she can.

I totally didn't think you were blowing it off. :rotfl: Sometimes these games are an in the moment deal as the season progresses, so absolutely no problem. It goes without saying that I would LOVE for you to be here, and have every confidence you're trying your darndest. But I know what it's like to be "held hostage" (that's my entire life right now) and it's a tough place to be for making plans. IN the end, it'll work out the way it's supposed to, and either way, we'll get to meet soon, I think. Keep working at it, we'll get there.

I just sent you a PM :sad1:

MIKE GOT THE JOB!!!!!

:banana::banana::banana:Help me celebrate!!! :banana::banana::banana:

This made my day!

:goodvibes lovely background music! They play it quite a lot on mouseworld radio - but I afraid streaming music will do havoc to your data plan...

I need to look it up and find it. I'm pretty sure I can find it on parktunes.com; I'll let you know.

Oh, I will be looking forward to that, thanks! :thumbsup2

NO! I didn't know there was there (don't even know where they take the picture); I'll go back and consult my book. Where is it in my picture?

In yours it is a bit cropped I think, but here in mine it is in plain side, just next to my head:

I am relieved. I think I used to hang out too much on the transportation board and there were so often people who came back and complained that they got stranded at the TTC because it is not a Transportation Center for Disney transportation. So I am always afraid of people running into that trap!

I just sent you a PM :sad1:

This does not sound very good, sending you a hug:

I so can't even fathom someone taking (and paying for??!!!) 16 people to stat at Disney!!! That's one generous BIL right there! WOW!! Does he have any boys about 20 or so?? I have 2 daughters... :rolleyes1

Yes, he is paying for all of us. Although there are 2 two year olds (technically free) He has two daughters ages 5 and 2 so sorry I can't arrange any marriages. :lmao: This trip is about family! There are 8 grandchildren ages 10-2 so they will be having a lot of fun together.

It was a really big surprise, and I cried. :sad1:yes, I am a sap.

My kids LOVED pin trading! So what I did is bought/bid for pins on ebay and I got them fairly cheap! Just watch what the shipping costs are. I can totally see how it would be a fun hobby, especially for people who get to go often and want something other to do that ride attractions and see shows. I could really draw in the kids too, who want their experiences to be more interactive. We researched the Pressed Pennies on all of our trips and have several of the collections started. My kids (same ages as yours almost) love theirs too.

Hi... Just stopping by to say I am just catching up and joining in. I am loving your TR. You are a great writer and I am looking forward to reading what other adventures you are going to find!

YAYAYAYAYAYAYAYAY!! MINNIE MOM is here!!!!
:cheer2::woohoo::banana::woohoo::cheer2:

:welcome: to the wild and crazy- bet oh, so fun!!!

There are MANY (a long time's worth anyway) more adventures to come and I look forward to sharing them with you!

...false alarm. I found it. On the previous page.

I like the hidden Mickey search on Figment :)

I haven't put the TOC link in yet, but will right now- sorry 'bout that!

Hidden Mickeys are a fun little diversion- one even adults can find challenging. :upsidedow

The picture is up! I tagged Tim in that one, so hopefully you can find it. My wife tried tagging me on the complete trip album so that my FB friends could see and comment on the pictures, but I'm not sure if it worked.

going to look later tonight.

Sounds like a great Meet up! That's always the way it is... wanting to hang out longer! Happens every time! Awww... I want to give Ana a big hug and tell her how many smiles she's brought to my face! I like her answer!! "EVERYTHING!" :thumbsup2

::yes::

We're paddling the same canoe, sister. I know you guys will be faithful stewards of what you're given...and when you do that, you'll always be blessed with enough to take care of your needs.

We try! And you're so right- we've never been deprived of anything we actually need- He's got wide and gererous hands.

Beautiful! Great shot! And with a POC too! :thumbsup2

Not bad for the 'ol POC. The subject matter helped out with the task.

I do not like the cone of shame.

:lmao:

If I didn't like fireworks so much, I'd be there with you. I am thankful for the parades during the day that distract people from the rides.

Yeah, you are the flare ups, errr, I mean fire bombs. Parades are tourists best friend. :rotfl2:

:woohoo: I knew there was a reason we get along so well! :rotfl2:

;)

I thought not.

Nope, I laughed too! :lmao:

Kindred spirits, I tell you!

Nice work on all of the HM's in this chapter! :thumbsup2

I was really on a roll! :woohoo:

I LOVE the fountain show. The various songs they play are all right up my alley (most come from movie scores, which I listen to all the time). I found the list of songs they play at one point. I'll have to see if I can find that again. I know one of the songs is from James Horner's score for The Rocketeer, which is a great piece.

And I think the pictures look good!

I looked on parktunes, which lists them all, but they don't haev play back on any but one. And that one I can't play on my computer as I don't have Quicktunes installed. Soo....... I can't tell you which one it is until I get my iPod back, which my girls took to San Francisco for a long weekend.

What?? That's supposed to happen at marriage?? Nobody told me this! Does this mean I have to buy my family actual Christmas presents instead of giving unlimited "wishes"?

Vague promises of "best wishes" wouldn't fly around here. Pony up, or dinner might be "late" more often than not. :rolleyes1

At that point, they should have said, "Dear, everyone here is doing the free dining deal. The Ragu is on us." :wizard:

In your wildest Disney dreams. Free Dining started on our trip 4 days from now.... but if you think I would spend a CS credit on Ragu, you've been smoking something very strong.

Maaaaaaroooooooo.....????

congrats on the job that is exciting news.

More on the job coming up next!!!

They are easy to find, once you know where to start looking, and they do start to have patterns. It's really a lot of fun to find one on your own outside of seeing it in th book. But I do admit, I've read it cover to cover and have several more i want to find.

Enjoy it while it lasts.... next week it might be caviar on bean burritos. :confused3:lmao:

Hey Liesa... I'm caught up on the last 2 posts but no banter. :sad2: {EDIT}I didn't realize there was another post yesterday.
I'm glad you were able to purchase most of your trinkets on this day. You picked out some beautiful pieces!

Hope your ankle is feeling better. :thumbsup2

I know.. Sorry!! I was just getting anxious to get on with Day 3 and felt I need to cram all the rest of the DAY 2 into one giant long post. Much longer that I like to make my regular ones. If you stuff too much into one post, it's too much for people to digest and comment on.

Thanks- I was pleased with my shopping trip.

Well, Tater can go either way- you shall see.... and as for his preferences, he's really not that particular.

More on the ankle coming up...

I just sent you a PM :sad1:

This made my day!

got the PM, and more news on the job coming up!!

:goodvibes lovely background music! They play it quite a lot on mouseworld radio - but I afraid streaming music will do havoc to your data plan...

I would have to stream from somewhere else... definitely NOT here!

Oh, I will be looking forward to that, thanks!

I tried to find it on parktunes, but since I don't have Quicktime Player I can't play it. I am going to guess it is Rocketeer? but MIGHT be able to confirm after the girls get home from San Fran.

In yours it is a bit cropped I think, but here in mine it is in plain side, just next to my head:

I SEE IT!! HOW COOL!!!

I am relieved. I think I used to hang out too much on the transportation board and there were so often people who came back and complained that they got stranded at the TTC because it is not a Transportation Center for Disney transportation. So I am always afraid of people running into that trap!

I can see that being a common misconception. Pays to research. And then re-research!

This does not sound very good, sending you a hug:

The fat lady hasn't sung yet....

All may not be lost...

It was a really big surprise, and I cried. , I am a sap.

DAng! Family trips are what they are- I definitely needed to completely readjust my expectations for both of ours. They were fun, but just in a different sort of way!

I'd say you really have a great BIL!!! So great of him to want to gift that to all of you!

Liesa - I absolutely love this picture. It's really good.

Such a great day you had in Epcot. You went hard. Ugghhhhh to the wrong room key. I'm glad you got it straightened out, but I can feel your pain. That is something that would happen to me, especially since I try not to touch cash the whole time I am in Disney.

Really fun day. I can't wait to see what's in store next.

WOW, you did put the miles in that day. Well done. I am worn out reading it and as you know, I don't wear out easily :)

The TT picture is priceless.

:scared1: about the blisters

:lmao: a bit about the dine and dash

HI Mary Ellen! Coming from you, that is one of the best compliments I've gotten in a long. THANKS!! Your photos are so, so amazing!

It was certainly a long day, but sooo worth it!! Geez on the room key thing. :sad2: I ran without cash the entire time, but not entirely on purpose. But that's another story for another time...

Next up: AK!!

WOW, you did put the miles in that day. Well done. I am worn out reading it and as you know, I don't wear out easily :)

:lmao: a bit about the dine and dash

Well, at least 1.3 miles and some change. I think I added about another 1.3 going to the bus stop. :lmao::lmao::lmao:

That photo is just priceless. Could anyone appear ANY more bored??!!

Be very afraid...

I am proud to say, I've never dined and dashed...

UNTIL DISNEY!!! :rotfl2::rotfl2::rotfl2:
