ABCs of Trip Reporting, Pt. 2-Life Can Be Crappy and Then You Move On (3/7)

Ok - I only have 2 points - so if all you 6-pointers out there could sit out the next couple rounds, I would really appreciate it. :flower3: Thank you :thumbsup2

I'm impressed with the Imogene Coca response. :thumbsup2

Looks like the hours that Marv and Molly put in paid off, since they both have 6 points.

I knew right away where that picture was taken, but second part of the answer...which had to be a proper noun and all....was much more difficult.

You know I would, but I can't count on Marv and Dan to do the same. ;)

Oh sure you two! Just leave me out of the fun! :snooty:

You are right in the middles, so you can choose which club you are in - I say WCA, cuz Texas is cowboy land!

Yes, I think that's the trap I fell into... I just thought that she used "proper" to emphasise that it had to be a noun. Like in a phrase like that: "I need some proper tea, not a fancy herbal infusion." :confused3

But then I realized that Liesa had a disclaimer about PMing her if you don't know what a proper noun is. I just never realized that a proper noun is something different from a noun...

That's why American English is so hard to learn:headache:

Oh come on you guys! Does Rosie and Proper really belong in the same sentence???? :confused3

I'm sure Rosie has a proper cup of tea once in awhile!

I (hey, that's pretty cool that I just started my day off that.) have an insane day ahead of me-

I have to go to Portland (3 days in a row! :faint:) for a doc. appt. for Zachy and lunch with LeeAnn (remember her? The third gal on our trip) then back here for shopping and play rehearsal for the girls. Somewhere in there I have to sneak in getting our dresses in for getting prof. button holes put in, and of course, Andrew came home last night. We got home at about 1:00 AM, so am already running on fumes. (Yes, I know I just opened myself up there... but I"m too tired to worry about that.)

So, here's my planoid: I will take Bek to the bus stop now, work on I when I get home before I go to Portland. So, you'll get your answer in about an hour. Does that make everyone happy??

Thanks for your dedication!

Okay Liesa, where at DHS? I knew it was DHS, but couldn't find anything that started with I, except Ice Cream cart, which you said was not good. It was my understanding that both parts had to start with I? I will have to go back and read, which I did, several times. :confused3

After this long I figured people needed a reminder I was even WRITING a TR......... :rolleyes1

i know it knocked me out of my chair when i read this, i thought you were done with your report 2 months ago

no in all seriousness a marv update is about as common as me spelling a word correct.

okay glenn just because you asked so nice, i will sit out the next few rounds of the game, and will not play but if you win i expect you to split the prize with me.

Ok, you are right, I should have been able to figure that out. I had the right park but not enough brain cells to think further than that.

Yeah, I thought you'd think so. Not really so hard afterall. But when the time is limited... well, some things just have to go. But Hey, 4 points, really isn't that far out of the running. :confused3

I was standing right in front of it yesterday and found what she took the picture of but couldn't figure out the "I" proper noun and I looked all over!!!!!

Jill in CO

DOH!! Doncha hate that?? Were the Incredibles out??

Welcome back!! Are you back home yet, or is this your travel day back?

Woo-hoo! 6 points!

Thanks for the shout-out on Imogene Coca! I was trying to stick really close to Indy which is why I did American Idol first. Then I was convinced it was one of the bronze busts but do you think I could find a list of who was on those anywhere on the web. So, since it was a proper noun, I thought of famous people with "I" names that might be featured at Disney and came up with her and sure enough her handprints are there. So, if anyone has or can find a list of who has a bronze bust there I would love to know.

Looking forward to J!

I shoulda given you and Glenn a bonus point for having a unique answer!!! Hmmm.... maybe next Game Pt. I can add that dimension.

Anyway, well done! I wonder if a google search would pull up the bust list from there?? Ok, here we go again- skating on thin ice for comments from the guys. :lmao:

I'll have to put my thinking cap on for J for sure!!

Wahoooooey for 6 pts !!

You're doing VERY well, Rosie!! Keep that good work up!

Figures I was in the wrong park...I'm always on the wrong side.

Nah, you're doing fine! Next one should be easier; not many J's to choose from here.

Ok - I only have 2 points - so if all you 6-pointers out there could sit out the next couple rounds, I would really appreciate it. :flower3: Thank you :thumbsup2

Hmmmm.. the polite tactics... I wonder if they really would? :lmao:

I'm impressed with the Imogene Coca response. :thumbsup2

Well, if it makes marv feel any better, he spent about as much time as I did on that Ali-do game! Good night, you have NO idea how many times I went over, and over, and over, and over those pictures. And still came up short.

That was VERY impressive about Imogene Coca. I'd never even heard of her before, and now that I've seen pix, I'm CERTAIN that Edna Mose was characterized after her!

I really thought everyone would come up with the Incredibles no problem, and if no that, Idol. But that one would have been on shaky ground since it technically starts with A. But since everyone was having such a hard time, my heart became soft and buttery. :rotfl2:

I doubt any one can really afford to sit out rounds J-L. ;)

Wow, I was thinking of the Incredibles, but I never thought that they were "close" to the Indiana Jones Stunt Show. So everything in the same park counts as close to? Or were the rules specifically relaxed this time?? I am not complaining since I managed to get two right answers thanks to your explanation about proper nouns... :goodvibes

Nope, no Incredibles. :( I really thought Ice Cream of Extinction from Gertie's would count. :rotfl:

I got home last night at 10pm and am at work today. :( I did get to ride Star Tours twice yesterday morning as they were having a soft opening and it ROCKED!!!!

Jill in CO

Oh never mind. :headache: Now that someone said Indy, I remember looking at the map and thinking it must be near there as part one, but not coming up with anything PROPER for part 2. :rotfl2::crazy:

Thanks for your dedication!

It IS hard to learn! Having taught it for a while, I know how tough those finer grammar points can be. :headache: And not only is grammar tough, pronunciation can be killer too. "R", "L", and that ever-problematic "TH" are real killers.

I wonder if Rosie "mashes" her tea bag. Or if she does it "properly" using a tea strainer with loose tea??

My pleasure!! It's fun fo rme too!

It's over by the Indiana Jones show. So, the question was "Near what attraction or place was this picture taken?" Ans. Indiana Jones Stunt Show OR the Indiana Jone Adventure Outpost . The second word also had to start with "I" and you could have gone with Incredibles, It's a Wonderful Shop, or In Character. I was a bit lax with rules this time, since I could a lot of you were having a hard time. :goodvibes

your most important portland day is tomorrow.
:thumbsup2

Yeppers!! I am ready for some fun! I don't think I've ever driven up to PDX 3 days in a row, but it's gonna be worth it!

Notice how I do not even attempt to join in the games? These are the kind I would enjoy, but having once won the Biggest Loser Game prize, I stay away from games. Honestly, I even won a a Loser Award. ::yes:: This was a monastery, so it was all in fun - we were laughing hysterically. I'd warned them I was not good, but they didn't believe me.:sad2:

Fun trying to keep track of everyone else though! :thumbsup2

It's kinda like you say, I was a bit more relaxed, given the nature of the Letter itself- not too many I's out there, and the harder time everyone was having.

Next time, I'll have to be more specific about how far away if it's something very specific (and esp. if it's a proper noun) I'm looking for. ;) In the end, you did very well, given it was a bit of a mystery concerning that grammatical term.

Nope, no Incredibles. :( I really thought Ice Cream of Extinction from Gertie's would count. :rotfl:

It might have except it's Aunt Gertie's Ice Cream of Extinction - too many non-I words before it. One might work, but not 2. I know, now it seems sort of random. Gosh- what to do, what to do?? A vote?? Except I did say no ice cream though...

Oh never mind. :headache: Now that someone said Indy, I remember looking at the map and thinking it must be near there as part one, but not coming up with anything PROPER for part 2. :rotfl2::crazy:

yay! You got it!

Hi M&N!! I hope this one is just fun, where people can learn more about WDW. Might take a bit of research, but then again, a veteran like you shouldn't have too much of a problem getting at least of them right! I think Rosie thought she won the "Loser Award" a few games back, but it too was all in good fun. But she's smoking hot this time around!

I'm impressed with the Imogene Coca response. :thumbsup2
I thought about seeing if I could find a photohistory of celebrity hand/footprints but never got to that point. I did find someone who posted pictures of all the bronze busts but none of them started with "I."

I was actually just playing pitiful with most of my comments. Probably no more than an hour searching for the elusive answer.

Yeah, when I saw that picture I thought I had the exact same one from our New Year's trip, but not quite. I can't believe with all the clues that I didn't think of The Incredibles sooner since we took pictures with them on the trip where we met up!
no in all seriousness a marv update is about as common as me spelling a word correct.
Oh come on, its not THAT bad!!! :rotfl2: Hey, we only got home from our trip less than five months ago, unlike some people who have been home almost a year and still dragging out their TR...... :rolleyes1

:thumbsup2 You have six points too Glenn! How long did you spend searching??;)

I really thought everyone would come up with the Incredibles no problem, and if no that, Idol. But that one would have been on shaky ground since it technically starts with A. But since everyone was having such a hard time, my heart became soft and buttery. :rotfl2:

Ack! I thought of the Incredibles but figured that was too far from the Indy Stunt Show!:headache: So I went with Idol and for good measure, Itzakadoozie!

I was actually just playing pitiful with most of my comments. Probably no more than an hour searching for the elusive answer.

Um, ya, me too then.;) I certainly didn't spend a large amount of time on it either. Nope, not really...ok, I spent WAY too much time thinking it through. So much so, that my brain still hurts a little bit today.

I shoulda given you and Glenn a bonus point for having a unique answer!!! Hmmm.... maybe next Game Pt. I can add that dimension.

I did try a google search -no luck. You know when I typed busts I thought I am going to regret that!

I'm impressed with the Imogene Coca response.

That was VERY impressive about Imogene Coca.

Thanks guys!!!!

I thought about seeing if I could find a photohistory of celebrity hand/footprints but never got to that point. I did find someone who posted pictures of all the bronze busts but none of them started with "I."

If you remember where I would love to see them! I found a few partials but could't find all of the photos or a list in one place.

Very impressive research! That basement of yours convenient for viewing busts?

I was actually just playing pitiful with most of my comments. Probably no more than an hour searching for the elusive answer.

You mean you're not really a whiner?

Yeah, when I saw that picture I thought I had the exact same one from our New Year's trip, but not quite. I can't believe with all the clues that I didn't think of The Incredibles sooner since we took pictures with them on the trip where we met up!

Yeah, I only threw that word in there about a dozen times. :rolleyes1

Oh come on, its not THAT bad!!! :rotfl2: Hey, we only got home from our trip less than five months ago, unlike some people who have been home almost a year and still dragging out their TR...... :rolleyes1

If you think that will hurry ANY of us up- try again.

he's not saying.

It was kinda far, but hey, how many things start with I any closer?? (2)

Well, your hard work paid off!!

I did try a google search -no luck. You know when I typed busts I thought I am going to regret that!

Thanks guys!!!!

If you remember where I would love to see them! I found a few partials but could't find all of the photos or a list in one place.

YOU DIDN"T GOOGLE BUSTS DID YOU!!???!!! :scared1:

It was well-deserved!

busts with partials... that's a new one.

Awesome! I've read that the updated version is amazing!

I can't wait to see/ride it!! I need to start finding some first impressions now!

Liesa Rosie drinks COFFEEE!!!!!!:rotfl2::rotfl2::rotfl2:

OH that's right!! You must have drank/ drunk/ drinked gallons at our Meet!
