ABCs of Trip Reporting, Pt. 2-Life Can Be Crappy and Then You Move On (3/7)

Good move on changing offices. False alarms suck!

The place has like 10 offices all around the county so you just pick the one closest to you. Well, what they don't tell you is that they may all look the same but some are diagnostic centers and some are just screening centers.

Apparently the screening ones just take the films and send them over to the Disgnostic centers to read- while the Diagnostic centers handle the re-do's and have a doctor on site to read the films immediately.

Of course the one closest to me is a screening center so I now go to the one closer to work, a diagnostic center, even though they said I don't have to do that. I really wasn't worried. When they called they stressed that they just wanted another look and not to worry. I really did not believe them but I figured once they got a good look they would see nothing. So far the story of my life and i would like to keep it that way.

I guess I was in complete denial or confident that things would be fine. The physician was apologetic even that if he saw the film the took that day he never would have called me back. Everything was fine.

I wonder if there is a spot on something somewhere on their equipment that keeps sending up red flags?

I caught up! :woohoo: Whew!

Maroo - your Crystal Palace updating had me misting up. Incredibly swet and how very, very exciting for Baker and his family!

Congratulations to you Liesa on deciding to go back to school! How is all that going? My Mom has been an LPN for 40 years, she loves her work. She does wish she had gone all the way to RN, because after 40 years of practice she knows and does the work of an RN, but gets paid as an LPN. Plus, I just gotta throw this out there...Florida is always looking for nurses. :rolleyes1

LL's review on Rose & Crown is exactly what made me try it in September as well! YUMMMY!

And I am a cabbage fan. Can I join the Cabbage Cool Club? (I have a cabbage pic later in my TR that I took with GB in mind.)

I see on the new thread you mentioned contests with cool prizes. Tim can attest to how cool the prizes are! ;) (sorry, can't miss an opportunity to bring up the whip! His picture hasn't graced this thread yet)

If I could buy the props or the like from WDW, I think I would have to get the creepy clown chair from the BW. :lmao: I know I have a picture of it, but I can't find it right now.

:scared1: on the cancer scare! I'm so glad you are okay!!

I'm praying for your DH on the job front. Is this the one you mentioned a while back that would require you guys to move again?

We outgrew ZZUB's blog so we've created full fledged website. All my spare time these past couple o' weeks has been spent modifying xml and CSS code.

GB, question --- and this may be obvious to all except me...why do you and a few other people have a separate website for trip reports?

Oh my gosh, I can't imagine being preggers and going through that. And by the way...Good for you for getting after your friends! I'm a stickler also, after having half of my cervix removed several years ago. :guilty: I was one stage away from stage one cancer according to the biopsy reports. Keep encouraging your friends, just because it's good one year does not mean it will be the next year. I had a perfectly healthy cervix the year before and in a year I went to highest stage you can be at before cancer 1. I'm sure they could have been sucessful to get everything even if they did find stage 1 cancer, I have no doubt, but no sense pushing it, right?

Thank you!:goodvibes I pester friends and family all the time to go, they love it. It was scary because I was pregnant and my thoughts just went wild with the 'what if's'. But I prayed and prayed that God would work it all out and things turned out well, despite part of my cervix having to be frozen. Nothing like having your OB/GYN tell you that you have a nice frozen ball going on. Apparently that was a good thing. That was 10 years ago when I was in my middish-20's so it just goes to show that things can happen even that young. Just had my annual recently, it's so fun to make small talk with the person who's squeezing your ovaries!

So ladies, get those paps done!!!:thumbsup2

You think any self-respecting DIS Dad doesn't know that? :rotfl2: I figured if we're living in a world where I can have both the WL and a monorail, then OF COURSE we're extending the track. We're also adding customized Philadelphia sports team paint jobs and a special button for me to push that launches fireworks from the train anytime I want, just because I can. pixiedust:

Geez, let's not go big or anything. :rolleyes1:lmao:

 DH isn't reading this, is he?

Not on your life. But give him a mtn. climbing forum, and he's all good. That or a car repair site.

Because he's winning.

:lmao::lmao::lmao:

Did his breathing have a mechanical sound? Was he wearing a mask too? :darth:

Sort of. The voice was more like a grunt.

He also had one of those plastic back scratchers on a long wand that was made of glow stick material.

HA! You know how every time gas prices go up for what seems like no rhyme or reason, and we all wonder why? I think you found the key.

I knew I should have asked for Bernenke's job. ;)

More for me then! :woohoo: We mostly have to subsist on Domino's and Papa John's, so I can see the appeal of this place. And I'll quote my wife: "As long as I don't have to cook, I don't care what we're eating!"

I say that too, bu I tell my DH that filet and seafood taste especially great if I don't have to make them. ;)

Mrs. Knowitall got a bell from here too! We've been amazed at how well it works in getting the kids to the dinner table. So much better than the air horn.

That's it! I'm getting an airhorn!

I really do use a bell too, to call the kids down from upstairs. I can threaten them with the bigger guns if their response time doesn't start to improve rapidly.

How many licks does it take to get to the center of a Tootsie Roll pop?

Wise owl says, "One".

He is a member of the Order of the Golden Fleece. So it's not a goat, but the skin of a male sheep. :goodvibes

Oooooooooooooh, that's soooooooooo much better. :lmao: Everyone should wear on of those!

Ok, in all seriousness.... I had never heard of it before- guess there's still a bunch to learn of royal this and that. What surprised me most was that it is still an active order with many living members. One phrase that was "interesting" was "At the King's pleasure". Hmmm...

DisneyTrip2010990.jpg

Were these the "Hot Italians" you were referring to. :rotfl2:

I love these ovens!!! They are so cool looking. I really want to try this place. It seems really tasty.

:lmao::lmao::lmao: VERY good!! Yes, those are my "hot Italians".

DisneyTrip2010993.jpg

Tate!! Got a love the little guy! Looks like he was having some fun.

Tate always seems to rustle up some fun. Espeically with the ladies. ;)

glad everything turned out for the "ladies"

and as far as what i would take from disney that would have to be the MK train. And not only do you get the train, but it also comes standard with Platforms at Main street USA, SM, and a construction stop at Toon town. since it goes under some tunnels, think SM, and Space Mountain, you get those as well.

so what a bang for your buck.

also it would parker the happiest so that is my choice.
:thumbsup2

Thanks, Dan!

WOW! I think you just want the whole danged park. i thought Mark was trying to be greedy, and then this! :scared1: Guess if you take it all, we can just come to your house to hang out. Would you charge us less???:lmao: And most importantly, would you offer us Dole Whip floats?

/
What, you didn't go around to all the tables at Via Napoli and ask to snap a quick picture of their food? Just think of all the great food pictures you could have had.

I can't believe you didn't buy anything in Japan! There's so much cool stuff in there. You went back later to buy a kimono, right?

14 pages behind on the old thread and 20 here. I've got some reading to do! :goodvibes

some fun reading ahead!! Welcome BACK!!!

.."I think we're moving onto a phase of our realationship neither of us were expecting." :rotfl:
[/COLOR]

:lmao::lmao::lmao: :lmao:That right there is a funny comeback!

Okay as for what hardscapes and or attractions....hmmmmm..... I would have to say the garden lover in me is wanting to have the Living with the Land tour on the boat and labs in my backyard, (minus the yucky fish and gator tanks.:scared:) and the Mickey head flower display in front of MK in my front yard. :cloud9: And THEN....I would like to have Splash Mt. on the other side of my yard (I have to have the house on the land I want to fit all of this on-if I'm gonna dream I have to go beyond Disney, people  sheesh!), it's mine and Mackenzie's favorite attraction to ride together in MK.

VERY nice choices, Chickapoo!! Except I'd take the fish too- just think of all the great meals you'd get! And you could sell the gators to the local exotic pet stores.

1. I hope your DH's interview went really well. I will keep my fingers crossed!

2. I am so glad you call back was nothing. I was called back once and now I sit in the waiting room until the radiologist looks at my films. I have done this for 5 or 6 years. I ask to wait and they never say no. I never want to get called back again! Too stressful!

3. Tate and Jen had the same hat. :rotfl2: I am too lazy to find Jen's picture, but Tate really looks great in that hat. I'm sure Jen would be jealous!:rotfl:

1. He thinks it did, but we won't know until a week or so. We'll see... meantime, we made the decision to go ahead and start applying outside the state..... an application went into Elko, Nevada today.... God help me.

2. I will definitely continue to use this clinic- they read them right away. :thumbsup2 It was stressful just waiting those 5 minutes!!!! :scared1:

3. I know it!!! I totally couldn't wait to post that picture after that chapter of yours. That hat makes for some hilarious stuff! :lmao:

The place has like 10 offices all around the county so you just pick the one closest to you. Well, what they don't tell you is that they may all look the same but some are diagnostic centers and some are just screening centers.

I wonder if there is a spot on something somewhere on their equipment that keeps sending up red flags?

That makes total sense. And they aren't so up front about which kind they are, are they??

A great big US goo smudge???
:lmao:

Congratulations to you Liesa on deciding to go back to school! How is all that going? My Mom has been an LPN for 40 years, she loves her work. She does wish she had gone all the way to RN, because after 40 years of practice she knows and does the work of an RN, but gets paid as an LPN. Plus, I just gotta throw this out there...Florida is always looking for nurses. :rolleyes1

From what I understand, going from an LPN to an RN about doubles your pay. Totally worth the extra year in school in my book. I start class on Monday, but am hoping to switch to a T/Th section. Baby steps! math, chem, A&P, then microbiology, then maybe I can apply! We'll see... My hubby would rather die than live in FL. He's a west coast kinda guy.

LL's review on Rose & Crown is exactly what made me try it in September as well! YUMMMY!

I think they had totally different food than I did, but it looked great nonetheless. She writes such great reviews, I couldn't resist. Heather (circusgirl) wrote one on Vick and Al's that makes me want to pony up the $250 to go. So when I win th lottery, I'll be doing that one. ;)

And I am a cabbage fan. Can I join the Cabbage Cool Club? (I have a cabbage pic later in my TR that I took with GB in mind.)

YEA!! Another Club Cabbage Cool member- should we give out numbers like the DISDad's Club? :rotfl2:

I'm dying to see you picture- with GB in mind, it can only be good. :littleangel:;)

I see on the new thread you mentioned contests with cool prizes. Tim can attest to how cool the prizes are! ;) (sorry, can't miss an opportunity to bring up the whip! His picture hasn't graced this thread yet)

THERE IS ANOTHER CONTEST STARTING VERY SOON- IN FACT, I CAN NEITHER CONFIRM OR DENY THAT ONE COULD BE STARTING UP AS SOON AS NEXT WEEK.... :rolleyes1

Tim, I think you're being summoned for picture doody.

If I could buy the props or the like from WDW, I think I would have to get the creepy clown chair from the BW. :lmao: I know I have a picture of it, but I can't find it right now.

:scared1: You wouldn't! Really? George's spawn?

:scared1: on the cancer scare! I'm so glad you are okay!!

:yay: PHEW!

I'm praying for your DH on the job front. Is this the one you mentioned a while back that would require you guys to move again?

It might. God is being very slow in showing us our next adventure.

that is an acceptable reason to wear jammies.
:thumbsup2

and yes it can be manly to say jammies.

:cool2:

Really? To Walmart? That's a good place to buy them.

Thank you!:goodvibes I pester friends and family all the time to go, they love it.
So ladies, get those paps done!!!:thumbsup2

If all "woman talk" gets one person in, and catches something, then our 'work' was well worth it!

What, you didn't go around to all the tables at Via Napoli and ask to snap a quick picture of their food? Just think of all the great food pictures you could have had.

I can't believe you didn't buy anything in Japan! There's so much cool stuff in there. You went back later to buy a kimono, right?

I could have done that, but they might have thrown me in the ovens.

Don't worry, I DID complete my WS shopping tour. Just not yet. Hmmm... if I'd known how much weight I was going to gain in moving back to the US, I would have gotten a kimono to make me look smaller.

I'm alive! And caught up. WHEW! But woefully behind in the chatter.

I am very very sad that you had a lame dragon. Not to be confused with a lame duck, but lame all the same. At least you got the souvie cup out of it, I do like that though I wonder if it (and the sugar I can only imagine was in it, based on the ingredients) had anything to do with your power headache.

For the most part, I find it best to steer clear of a lot of the liquid libations and stick to beer or wine. Nothing makes Jeff crabbier in a hurry then spending a lot on a drink to have it taste like...punch. Or the like. There are a few spots that have treated us well on that front, and I'll go back to those but I can't count the number of times I've tried something that sounded simply fabu, only to be dissapointed.

Even if you can get a Mickey Wine stopper everywhere in the world...it's still a wonderful thing to have, and hey, at least it VISITED france, even if it wasn't made there. How lovely that you have a glass one now, and a special one at that!

I have to say, I think you are all a bit harsh on gagawannabe. For a couple of reasons.

1. Compared to Gaga, she looks like a schoolgirl, and not even a naughty one.
2. All things considered, those shoes aren't that high and hey, a wedge I'm sure was her idea of a "comfort" shoe. They are ugly though.
3. For all you know she was only going to dinner and not doing much walking. Just strolling back to the Boardwalk. Ok, maybe not, it was lunch time but for some reason, especially in the world showcase, I seem to see a fair amount of people in heels.

Heck, I've worn them to dinner myself and then changed to flip flops stashed in my bag. :rotfl:

While I wouldn't be caught dead in that outfit, I can't say in all honesty I consider it a fashion faux pas. A commando touring faux pas? For sure, but fashion for the sake of fashion? I don't find it interesting, risque or hideous enough to give it that much glory. Then again, I didn't see the front.

:rotfl:

Liesa! So glad to hear the mamm came back fine - phew! I'm having my first one this week. My doc says at my age its time to get a baseline.

Praying for a good outcome on Mike's job. Fingers crossed!

Good luck on your first day of class!

Caught back up again, and read the chatter too. I need a nap......

So happy to hear the results were good on the resquish..

Saying a prayer for the hubby....

I really thought about all the things i would bring home with me from WDW to 'have', and honestly, i want it all to remain there. But: i want the feeling, you know the feeling you have when you are there, the "happy".

i want that, at home.

Loving it, as usual, its great, keep it churning.

KIM

yeah, sorry about that... seemed like there were a couple of folks that needed a directional- hope they come back around often; new posters are like crack!!

:rotfl2: This cracked me up! And now I'm all caught up again! Wonder how long that will last? A few comments:

1. Thank heaven your mammogram came back clear.
2. Definitely sending some :goodvibes your way on your husband's job... I am such an anxious person...can't stand waiting for answers like that. Its so tough.
3. Despite being a serious lover of WS, I've never walked that far back into Morocco. Between the shots on your TR and Glenn's I know that I've been seriously remiss and will have to fix that on my next trip!
4. YES! Why is the store in the US pavillion so LAME??? I toss a ball around my classroom sometime to up class participation and energy and really would love to find a small, stuffed historical figure of some kind to toss...(that sounds far stranger than it is) and thought Disney would be just the place to find, like, a stuffed Ben Franklin or something. No dice.
5. I, too, was endlessly amused by the number of women I saw walking around in heels and other ridiculous get-ups. Now, I will say that one of the nice, fun things about Disneyworld is that people do often dress up a bit more than they might at other amusement parks, but heels...super short skirts? :scared1: At least she had the legs for it...saw plenty of women strutting around like that who just, well...no. One should know one's limits! :rotfl2:
6. I, too, own that Mickey head wine stopper. :rotfl: The one from your grandmother, however, is far more beautiful.

While I wouldn't be caught dead in that outfit, I can't say in all honesty I consider it a fashion faux pas. A commando touring faux pas? For sure, but fashion for the sake of fashion? :rotfl:

I would agree with you there - I have seen enough girls in Berlin wearing a similar stlye! :goodvibes

I think fashion very much relies on people getting used to certain styles. Very often I have found myself buying a style of clothes which I considered hideous a year earlier, but constant exposure to it made me start to like it. Therefore I have the rule to not buy clothes when in a foreign country: what is fashionable there might not be at home and while there I think it would be great, but when back home it does not look good anymore at all...

Thanks, Dan!

WOW! I think you just want the whole danged park. i thought Mark was trying to be greedy, and then this! :scared1: Guess if you take it all, we can just come to your house to hang out. Would you charge us less???:lmao: And most importantly, would you offer us Dole Whip floats?
yep, you can come, but im not sure on the pricing yet, may be free. why not share with everyone.

I am very very sad that you had a lame dragon. Not to be confused with a lame duck, but lame all the same. At least you got the souvie cup out of it, I do like that though I wonder if it (and the sugar I can only imagine was in it, based on the ingredients) had anything to do with your power headache.

OK, here is the CONFESSION of YET ANOTHER MORONIC MOMENT!!! I did not even know until recently, when I was re-reading the menu for R&C that the cup was a keeper!!! :scared1::scared1::scared1: NO IDEA!!!! I sadly left it there on the table in complete oblivion. :sad1: Anyway, if I had it hanging around, it might possibly always remind me of how lame the drink was.

And you just could be right. Although, the headaches were pretty much a constant for 3 days- drink or no. May have easily exacerbated it though, for sure.

That's exactly what it was- punch. Punch with well... no punch. I was definitely NOT disappointed every time, but enough to know better now.

Even if you can get a Mickey Wine stopper everywhere in the world...it's still a wonderful thing to have, and hey, at least it VISITED france, even if it wasn't made there. How lovely that you have a glass one now, and a special one at that!

Too true! It is a fun little something that I definitely use and will continue to. And the fact that I DO have a glass one now makes me smile even more now.

:rotfl:

At the very least (obviously more) it made me turn my head and wonder, "WHAT in THE HECK?!!" My speculations are (and I responded in kind to someone earlier- I thought it was Magdalene, but I couldn't find it) that indeed she was foreign, and simply didn't understand the "fashion (not)" of a theme park, or like you say, was there on a VERY short trip, and had no intentions of even going to WDW when she packed. Business trip (likely not) or other???? Either way, it looked out of place, and was enough to make me notice and ask the questions. Regardless, if she had to do almost ANY walking, she was going to be seriously sore in a pretty short time.

Liesa! So glad to hear the mamm came back fine - phew! I'm having my first one this week. My doc says at my age its time to get a baseline.

Praying for a good outcome on Mike's job. Fingers crossed!

Good luck on your first day of class!

Hi There!!!

Yep, just about that time for you. I was told to go back 3 years ago after one (they said go back in 6 months), on our last furlough in Tennessee, but left before I could. Glad it was just nothing this time, even after breaking the rules. HA!

We should hear ANY day on that one. Meantime, he has applied to several jobs in the fricken middle of nowhere in Nevada. Is it my lot in life to endure 14 degree winters and 112 degree summer with no Walmart within 500 miles? Really??!!

I start tonight, but want to ditch this one for a T/TH class that I"ll try for tomorrow!! I hope, I hope, I hope...
