ABCs of Trip Reporting, Pt. 2-Life Can Be Crappy and Then You Move On (3/7)

Everything I can possibly cross is crossed for hubby today. :)

Thanks, Kathy!! And thanks for listening last night. I confess I was nervous- just a bit....

I got a phone call yesterday telling me my Mamm Exam was not "normal" and was sent back for a "re-take" and U.S. today. I was not SCARED, but those kinds of phone calls always cause me a bit of concern.

I was "squished" again, and after the US the tech says, "I'll go show these to the radiologist and either he will come talk to you, or I will come back. It should only take a couple of minutes."

LONGEST 5 MINUTES OF MY LIFE!!!

I thought many things in those 5 minutes, including:

Hmmm.... what's cancer going to mean with no insurance? (FAR fewer trips to WDW!)

What will I look like with a wig on? (Hmmmm.... Maybe I should have gotten the Sir Hiss hat afterall.)

Will radiation mean I won't crave Taco Bell Burrito Supremes anymore? (Or Jiko for that matter!)

Those and 1,000 other questions raced through my mind, but I'm here to say, All is fine with the ladies. For the couple of you whom I asked to pray, thank you!!

Update maybe in a day or so, meantime, I only heard from a small handful of you:

What decoration or hardscaping piece of WDW would you love to bring home with you???

Have a magical day!

Oh Liesa:hug:! Of course that would frighten you, it'd scare the crap out of me! Thank goodness the 'ladies' are fine! Whew!

Hmm, what decoration or hardscaping would I love to bring home with me?? Oh, that's easy...the Aloha Isle stand in complete working order so that I can have myself a dole whip float anytime I please.:thumbsup2 Or one of the Peter Pan boats.

Glad to hear "the girls" are ok! I've had that same moment before...abnormal Pap and wonderful biopsy...thank god everything was ok but definitely scary!

So, can I bring home Wilderness Lodge and just live in it as my house? I think it would fit perfectly into the Rocky Mountains. ;)

good to say that the "Liesa Greeting" will be unaffected for the foreseeable future! I know how glad you are....

OK, WHY didn't I think of THAT one??!! That's WAY better than a drain cover! YUM!! I could always have floaties!

I've not had an abnormal pap yet, I"m not sure which would be worse- probably neither- both mean certain bad stuff to follow!

Welllll... You can certainly have WL, but I think you'd have to fight Mark for it! I suppose it's large enough for a couple families to live in though. Think you could all get along?? :lmao:

Glad to hear that after repeat squishing, the results were good!:cool1: although the Sir Hiss hat would be quite a fashion statement!

Still sending pixie dust and prayers your way for your husbands job interview and also for your school plans.

As for what I would bring home....that's easy, the redcand white striped light house from old key west. My bathroom has a border of red and white lighthouses, as well as the accessories in there.....and they were inspired by that lighthouse. Lighthouses aren't something you see out here in cornfield country!

I knew I could count on you to have Disneylike behavior!! No fighting over the pool either!

My daughter certainly thought it was. :rolleyes1

Thanks for the positive thoughts! We sure need 'em right now.

Nice choice. It would be a great addition to your decor!

Yup had both too.... within months of each other :scared1:

Not a great couple of visits. All is good but really, don't scare me twice for no reason.

In fact I heard from a friend at work she had an abnormal one at the same place I did. We just go to a different office now.

:lmao:How nice that the Liesa greeting is intact, especially since you're offering your 5 step program!:lmao:

I had an abnormal pap 10 years ago. They did a biopsy and I ended up having part of my cervix frozen to remove the cells. Totally freaky and I've never prayed so hard in my life that it would all be ok. At the time my first DD was only a little over a year old and I was pregnant with my second DD. But everything went well and every pap since then has been 100% good. I just thank God that I went to all those appointments like a good girl! Now I'm always going after my friends and family to make sure they get their pap!

And yes, dole whip floats anytime I want sounds perfect!:thumbsup2

Sorry to hear about your re-call for a second look-see. Judy had that same thing about a year ago. It's very nerve wracking. Fortunately, all was A-okay in her case also.

Praying for gainful employment for hubby!

Out of lurkdom!!!

It's a PARTY!

WHOPPIE!!!!! I so love it when a lurker de-lurks!! That's fantastic you've decided to join us!!! This thread is moving much slower than th first one; they seem to ebb and flow. And the chapters are linked in a TOC, so a bit easier to find.

It IS fun to see who is following along, isn't it?!? :cheer2: It is such a help to have the chapters, ya'll have so much fun over here things CAN move fast...and already on a second thread!!! :faint: AMAZING!! I have loved everything! And I just adore Maroo, she provides such great info to all of us Wish Trippers! :worship:

Wow, I missed a bunch of major stuff in the past 30-or-so hours!

1. Liesa, I'm so glad your appointment turned out fine. Whew!

2. Good luck to your DH!

3. Happy birthday, Maroo!

After messing around with Beyblades (sp?), spending $17.95 on some very sweet music (twice as much as budgeted), and being treated to some rather dubious attire in America, I made my way further around the Lagoon- onward toward a more European set of lands.

Italy was next up on the shopping agenda, because that’s the country that comes next after the US in World Showcase (if you’re going counter-clockwise- which I was in case you were confused). Criss-crossing and backtracking simply don’t work in this sort of quest. And I’ve been listening to Rosie long enough to know that there might be some hot Italians to be found there.

By now, time was marching on, and my headache was begging me to hurry up. So from here on out, you will notice the pictures becoming quite sparse. No longer was it the leisurely saunter around the Showcase, but rather a “find the trinket and move along” sort of affair. Don’t get me wrong, I was still enjoying every minute of my time; with a solo sort of groove and a firm goal in mind, not even a power headache can stand in the way of delighting in all that EPCOT offers. Mostly.

The spires of St. Mark’s Square steered me in with its lofty heights,

and I immediately started honing in on the one shop I knew I’d find the prize I sought after. At least I had hoped it’d be there. On the way, I stopped to take a picture of the Fountain where countless lovers have posed together. Today, I was enjoying solo-ness and the sheer freedom it brought to my shop. As romantic as each of the Pavilions are, I was not missing that element of my life at all.

Finally I found the shop I was trolling for and began my search for this:

Seriously, this took me WAY longer than I ever could have imagined. Then again, Charlie Sheen has been in the news far longer than I ever could have imagined as well, so you just never know. There were dozens and dozens of these little beauties; some done in pastels, some with glittery paint, some with fancier scrollwork, some more plain. It was so difficult to pick one out, especially with the CM who was just making me nervous! He absolutely would not allow ANYONE to touch ANY of the full-sized masks! Whenever anyone would even start to reach out to fondle one, he would give them the total stink eye and glare. Some flinched like toddlers having just having their hands swatted, others paid no heed to the warning and were sorry. It was giving me a really bad vibe, so after about 10 minutes, maybe more, I grabbed one and left. In fact, as I think back about it, I sort of recall that I was even nervous to take a picture- he was cranky about that too. Is there some international conspiracy of copying Italian masks that would lead to a sudden devaluation of price to something actually affordable? Just wondering.

My little gem, which now is magnetized to my kitchen stove hood was $10.00. Anyway, what might have easily taken 3 hours, suffered shopus interuptus, and I moved on towards Germany .

On the way, though, I had one more place I needed to check out for future reference. You all have taken some great pictures of your meals at the new dining digs- Via Napoli- but I’m the kind of gal who really needs to see things for myself. I asked at the check-in kiosk if I could come in and take a couple of shots, and boy oh boy! I really liked the meals I was seeing in there! I thought it was only a pizza place, and wasn’t so excited about it at all. I mean, for me at least, I cannot fathom going to Disney to eat pizza. We make it ourselves a couple times a month, and it’s just not something we’d pay a lot of money for when so many other places are available to get dishes we wouldn’t normally make at home. But I saw far more than pizza! There were lots of tasty and savory looking pasta dishes, some fabulous salads and some very outstanding meaty meals. But, even with all that, pizza IS served and cooked in these gigantic ovens.

DisneyTrip2010990.jpg

How clever that they are named after 3 of the largest and active volcanoes in Italy! On the back wall, I spied some trees in a mural that just might have an HM. It didn’t take long to find this one:

DisneyTrip2010992.jpg

Germany, in all its enchanting greatness, was next up, and it was time for Tate to come out and play. Afterall, he’d been cooped up in the bag all day long, and if you think I was hot, you should have heard him complain when I let him out! Cramped this, hot that… Oy vey, what a whiner! But it didn’t last long. While I perused the wares for something Germanesque to buy, Tate found a cute fraulein to play patty cakes with. I looked for the lace ornaments, the straw ornaments, carved wooden trinkets, and this and that, but finally was satisfied with this:

IMG_0083.jpg

I paid for my little bell, which really rings and was $7.95, and then watched the lady who sits and paints incredible pictures on egg shells for a bit. I asked her a bunch of questions and we had a really nice conversation, but I got worried about what kind of trouble Tate was getting into, so went off to find him. I needn’t have worried; he found some good lager and was in good hands:

Prying him away from his fun and games, with vague promises of more play time soon, it was time to keep going on our steady march back toward the entrance. Here are two more HMs I sought and found just before leaving the little Bavarian village:

So, this brings us to only 3 countries left: China, Norway, and Mexico… Would I last with my raging cranial discomfort? Would I find a little do-dad from each one? Does Geico really save anyone any money?

Total Hidden Mickey Count up til now: 12

Boozie Drinks: 2

pixiedust: Sending some pixie dust for your husband and for you. I hear that hugs help too.

good for you, Mama!! Right or wrong, how we present ourselves is a small reflection of who we are. ;)
She actually tried to convince me that nobody was going to judge her by what she was wearing. I immediately informed her that she was wrong and everybody would be judging her by what she was wearing. She tried to counter act be putting on a strapless summer dress she had gotten when shopping with her grandma, I told her nice now put a sweater on over it.

So glad every thing turned out ok!! That is scary. This happened to me on my last mammogram as well. I think my DH was even more scared than me! But mine turned out ok to.

Love the little bell you got from Germany. I may have aquired one as well when in Germany....:rolleyes1 I love it I always wanted one! I wanted one like the ones people have in Europe when cheering on people like in the Olympics! It took me forever to pick one out because it had to have the right ring/tone to it. DH and kids thought I was nuts, it's one of my favorite suvies I brought back. :)

I wanted to say I am Praising God for good news following your mammogram and I am praying for your DH about the job! :goodvibes

Another great chapter Liesa!

Tate, Tate, Tate. :sad2:

Good job finding the Hidden Mickey's.

It's good to hear that Via Napoli looks like it has many tempting offerings.

What animal is hanging around this guy's neck? He looks like he was playing that game they play in Crapistan with a dead goat.
