ABCs of Trip Reporting, Pt. 2-Life Can Be Crappy and Then You Move On (3/7)

Wow, you've really been bustin' my chops lately.........and right here while I'm trying to total the scores from the last contest......:rolleyes1

Now you're in trouble, Mister DannyPants! :lmao:

Oh, THANKS for encouraging him!!! :guilty:

yeah, I shoulda thought that one out better, since I knew you must be scoring soon. ;)

Oblivious??? :confused3

As in the Captain?? Hey! Where is Mark these days anyways?

I couldn't remember what the name was so I went back and tried to figure it out on Bing. Using oblique imagery (right Dan?) the hotel I stayed in is a Clarion Hotel, but I'm pretty sure that isn't what it was then. It is actually on Convention Way (one block over from Katella), a block from the Convention Center just down from the Hilton. At the time yes it had free parking, but that WAS 1995 or 1996, so it probably doesn't now......

Very good sleuthing! I don't have a clue what oblique imagery is, but it sounds like what happens in our house when a hoochie coochie part in a movie comes on.

I told you it was my favorite Mexican restaurant!!! I took two of the other people in one of my sessions with me, and they agreed it was well worth the time and effort!!!

My fave is the El India on India Str. right near the airport! YUM!! tortillas made on site, extra lard in the beans, mmmm, mmmm!!

Yeah, not a bad walk by yourself but awfully long with a chair. I remember rolling the stroller to the parking lot tram to get their faster but I don't think that lots there anymore.

UGH on Donkey man.

And double UGH on extra parking charges, those and resort taxes really annoy me!

I swear I'm gonna get over to your thread today!! Geez, I'm behind on that one! I don't know WHAT they're doing to the main lot that's close, but I GUESS it might have something to do with the construction of CarsLand?? I'll ask over on the other thread.

yes, I forgot to mention resort taxes too. What a pain! I guess they keep those pretty trees pretty though. :confused3

that is a good point, but you hav eto breath sometimes, and here in hte summer it heats up quick.

yep i got a mickey head key chain from you...i was assuming that was from round one, but if you want to send me more i wont stop you.
 just kidding, i like my prize.
;)

now lets see if anyone else can tell what obliguie imagery is without looking it up.

yes marv is sweet, and we should make fun of him, lets go back to picking on glenn and rosie.
:teacher:

I vote for just drinking fast. It's easier than spelling it OR trying to find one when needed.

Glad you got it. I was certain Parker was going to like it, and I'm sure he'll get a turn carrying it around.

I'll wait til the scores are out- dont' want to rock the boat, ya know. Hmm... guesss I need to check his thread out now!

Liesa, I got my second prize today!! Thank you so much! :goodvibes

I did not have to pay any custom on it - gifts are exempt from it (well, up to a certain amount).

You're welcome, my friend!! Glad you didn't get stuck with Prize taxes or fees!! :lmao:

Oh sure! Rub it in to those of us that didn't get any! :goodvibes

Just kidding!

I'm pretty certain that for everyone who attempts the game and plays faithfully, there will be a little something in the end. ;)

Sandra and I met today, along with her mom Teresa and her little ones, Sarah and James! We had a wonderful time, and as usual, it seems like we've always known each other! I think we entertained her mom with our "Disney attitudes and habits!" :rotfl2: We'll have a picture soon!

OH GOODY! I can't wait to see it!!! So glad it worked out for you to hook up and enjoy some DISTime!! And to think, you met right here!

Donkey man obviously has some insecurities and "issues" or he wouldn't be so caustic. It's his problem - not yours, so I hope you didn't let him get under your skin too much.

Ahhhhh - Disneyland. Enjoying your miniTR already because I know nothing about Disneyland other than what I read in Cynthia's TR last year.

Bring it on!

Yes, that's exactly what I'd call them- and an obvious pleasure derived from being a jerk. And yes, you're right, it's not my problem, especially now that I'm home.

I didn't know how LITTLE I knew about DLR after this trip! Everything's changed SO much!!

This is the chapter where I can prove an entire post about ‘Ohana can be done with exactly 4 pictures. As pathetic as that is, that’s all I got. Mary, you are needed STAT!!!!!

I will not lie. I was feeling pretty giddy, not only from a good, stiff Lapu (or two…), but from the sheer joy of being all together for the first time in our trip. It was magical in every way possible, and what better way to start things off with a bang than by overdosing on massive quantities of meat. Bidding an “aloha” to our happy hour table mates (the ones with those really cute knees), we were escorted to our 4 topper by one of our cousins. We started with a crisp vintage eau from the very excellent year of 2010. Clean on the front with slight hint of Florida sulphur, famous in the region. Iced well, it was a nice palate cleanser for the feast to come.

Next up was a magnificent loaf of bread. But unfortunately, no matter where bread is served, even in DisneyWorld, bread is still only a vehicle for what it spread upon it. This bread was just a ‘bready’ as any other, and I was holding out for better things- which is pretty much just about anything.

Here both are in most of their glory...

DisneyTrip2010143.jpg

By now, we were laughing up a storm and craziness began; but that’s a tale for Mary to add her lines. Meantime, more food than one Homer Simpson could handle started parading to our table. I personally have to say, the wontons were probably my favorite little nibblets. The dipping sauces made them sing with flavor, and paired with the salad, I was in a place close to paradise. My taste buds rejoiced, while my stomach started singing the blues. I was already full, and I started to become worried that a Hazmat Crew would have to be called out for a bioexplosion soon. Skewer after skewer showed up, but the shrimp won the “Best of Show” in my book. I don’t mind peeling them one bit, and probably ate about a dozen. Everything else was ok- not stellar- but palatable and filling. So much so that dessert was out of the question. But that’s okay, I started with something close to that first off. Sometime during the meal, we reminisced about the shenanigans of our Pre-Trip Report and started joking around about Mary and her veggies.

She would like you all to take a quick poll. Please choose Number 1...

DisneyTrip2010140.jpg

Or Number 2...

DisneyTrip2010141.jpg

Now, wasn’t that more fun than a Gallop? We’ll tally them up and divide ourselves into Lions and Tigers and…. cows. Oh my, that was bad!

We were lucky enough to be crooned to ukulele tunes by this Island Guy

DisneyTrip2010138.jpg

but were greatly saddened that once again we were stiffed in getting leis. I suppose I could have asked… but didn’t have the presence of mind to bother with it. I was busy doing other things…..

My goodness you have been busy!!!

DLR - your Aunt Cherrie seems amazing and I can't wait to read all of the moments that you are willing to share about your trip. Pee before pooh cracked me up too and I totally missed the mirror thing (Duh!) but super funny! We call DH's step-nana Evil Nana because we can't find one single redeeming quality in her! My MIL actually had to banish her from family events for about 6 months a few years ago. Looks like a lovely albeit long walk to the park. I am so glad your hotel choice was a good one!

WDW - we've eaten at Ohana for breakfast but not dinner and do want to try it some time (though our breakfast experience was not very good). Definitely choice #2 Mary - LOL! So glad your first time all together was so great!

Ok, I'm all caught up on DLR. I'm looking forward to hearing much more about Aunt Cherrie, your mother, Carol and yourself and much less about Donkey Man. Is he related to anyone in my extended family? I'm thinking of Donkey Wipe and Dumb-Donkey specifically.

On to O'hana...

Meantime, more food than one Homer Simpson could handle started parading to our table.

Two Homer Simpsons??

Uh oh. Sounds like you might be headed for another trip here:

would like you all to take a quick poll. Please choose Number 1...

Or Number 2...

Well, we have to take pee before Pooh, don't we? :confused3

:
remember

Who wouldn't think you two are special?! :confused3

Marv:confused3;):lmao:

Hmmmm... if there's a next time we can hire you! :thumbsup2

For you Liesa it is Free !!Just tell DonkeyButt I am now trained on a Sara lift!!:snooty::rotfl2: They used me to practise on and were very interested to find they could pull my pants down with ease:scared1::rotfl2::rotfl2:Such respect I get:lmao::lmao:

/
That's true! I wonder if they'd set up a big trampoline that I could land on.

You could have landed on the one my parent's have in their yard!! :lmao:

That's waht we ended up doing- different nights. Seems to be the only way. :confused3

Have a wonderful time today with Tammie!! How fun that you get to meet up !!

I think that's the only way to do it too. Then that way you actually get to enjoy the show!!

Sandra and I met today, along with her mom Teresa and her little ones, Sarah and James! We had a wonderful time, and as usual, it seems like we've always known each other! I think we entertained her mom with our "Disney attitudes and habits!" :rotfl2: We'll have a picture soon!

If I could find the camera I'd post what I have. I think it's in the van but haven't found it yet. Oh well my mom will be happy if we don't find it cuz then that means she gets a new camera!! Luckily she had just taken off all the pics that were on it expect for the ones from today.

It was great meeting you today!! I really enjoyed our time together and love how well we all got along. She also thought it was pretty funny how "into" Disney others are. She knew I was Disney Crazy but I think it actually surprised her that others were just as crazy as I am. lol

and to think we've written Ohanas off our list for January! :cool2:

thank you for not posting all those mouthwatering pictures of meat :worship:

and dessert :worship:

Very good sleuthing! I don't have a clue what oblique imagery is, but it sounds like what happens in our house when a hoochie coochie part in a movie comes on.
:rotfl2: Hoochie Coochie, huh? You must spend all your time watching the classics!!! :rotfl:
My fave is the El India on India Str. right near the airport! YUM!! tortillas made on site, extra lard in the beans, mmmm, mmmm!!
Next time you go back, try my fave! Bet it blows yours away. You walk up the street and you see an open fire with the meat rotisserie-ing in front of it. Then you see someone making the shells and things right there on a flat stone. The taco shells are somewhere between hard and soft, so they crunch but don't fall apart. They are huge, and they make them with shredded beef instead of hamburger meat, if you order the beef ones that is. Just don't over order since there is a lot of food. One of the guys who went with me from Anaheim ordered a burrito (Colorado I think it was called) and they served it on a platter. He also ordered two tacos and I looked at him like "Are you sure about that?" He didn't come close to finishing it since the burrito stretched from one end of the platter to the other, was about 4 inches wide, and probably close to 2 inches thick. With everything else (chips, salsa, etc.) I think I would be stuffed just with the two tacos he couldn't finish.....
We started with a crisp vintage eau from the very excellent year of 2010. Clean on the front with slight hint of Florida sulphur, famous in the region.
With the sulphur, you must pronounce that "EEEWWW?"
She would like you all to take a quick poll. Please choose Number 1...

DisneyTrip2010140.jpg

Or Number 2...

DisneyTrip2010141.jpg
I would vote for No. 1. With the added ruffage it would lead more quickly to No. 2. :rolleyes1

Never had Ohana for dinner, but it was highly suggested by the boys for breakfast this trip!!! I'll make sure I get lei'ed for you!!! ;)

Now you're in trouble, Mister DannyPants! :lmao:
we made up, were good.

Very good sleuthing! I don't have a clue what oblique imagery is, but it sounds like what happens in our house when a hoochie coochie part in a movie comes on.
i think you should google that, you are way off...

Glad you got it. I was certain Parker was going to like it, and I'm sure he'll get a turn carrying it around.

well im thinking more of, will i ever get a turn to use it, as he has hung it on his closet door with his other disney stuff, so it looks like it is his.
;)

well even though you dont have pictures of them, you still did say that the pot stickers are your favorite there...which is a good thing, as they really do rule.

as far as the voting i am torn, as i love steamed brocolli, and the seasoning they have on them there is really good...buuuuttttttt

and that is a big but, since i liked the steamed brocolli better at the luau, i will have to go with a big number 2 for this meal, and meat all the way.
:thumbsup2

My goodness you have been busy!!!

I know! I'm keeping you all on your toes these days!!

I think the mirror thing was rather subtle, but fun. It was great to be on the look out for interesting photos along the way.

Yeah, every family seems to have at least one selfish idiot. Too bad they have to wreck a nice time for everyone else.

I'd stay at the Anabella again; it was really nice. Much better than Hotel #2 which I'll get to later on.

WDW - we've eaten at Ohana for breakfast but not dinner and do want to try it some time (though our breakfast experience was not very good). Definitely choice #2 Mary - LOL! So glad your first time all together was so great!

Not done the breakfast, and unless Stitch takes up residence somewhere else, I probably won't. Don't care for breakfast in the first place, and characters make it even less attractive for us.

Is that not the most hilarious picture??!! :lmao:

Ok, I'm all caught up on DLR. I'm looking forward to hearing much more about Aunt Cherrie, your mother, Carol and yourself and much less about Donkey Man. Is he related to anyone in my extended family? I'm thinking of Donkey Wipe and Dumb-Donkey specifically.

On to O'hana...

:lmao::lmao::lmao: Yes, I think he's a close relative- maybe we should open a "hostile" just for them. Sort of like a bed and breakfast, but no beds and no breakfast.

:rotfl: I love your description of the water!!

I like Marv's pronunciation: "Eeewwww!". :rotfl2:

Two Homer Simpsons??

drooling_homer-712749_gif.png.jpg

drooling_homer-712749_gif.png.jpg

You are so utterly reliable! I can always count on you!:thumbsup2:thumbsup2

Uh oh. Sounds like you might be headed for another trip here:

6a00d83451587d69e20133ee8a6c0a970b-pi

Been a while since you've used that one! Still makes me spray my screen.

Well, we have to take pee before Pooh, don't we? :confused3

Well... yes! Yes, I guess we do. :lmao:

For you Liesa it is Free !!Just tell DonkeyButt I am now trained on a Sara lift!!:snooty::rotfl2: They used me to practise on and were very interested to find they could pull my pants down with ease:scared1::rotfl2::rotfl2:Such respect I get:lmao::lmao:

Oh MAN! I'm dying to hear THAT story!! Makes that saying, "Keep your shorts on" even funnier!

You could have landed on the one my parent's have in their yard!! :lmao:

That would have been quite a sight! Boing... boing... boing...

I think that's the only way to do it too. Then that way you actually get to enjoy the show!!

And you do have to line up quite a long time ahead to get a place worth viewing from!

and to think we've written Ohanas off our list for January! :cool2:

thank you for not posting all those mouthwatering pictures of meat :worship:

and dessert :worship:

You did!? Ok, I admit, it wasn't my favorite place by a very long shot, but it was tasty and certainly filling. But there are so many places I'd go back to first, espeically for the price. OK, sounds like i need to do a mini-review actually.

And I'd have posted all those pictures, Sandy... HAD I TAKEN THEM!! Bad DISser!

:rotfl2: Hoochie Coochie, huh? You must spend all your time watching the classics!!! :rotfl:

We always told the kids that if they watched those parts, they'd turn into mushrooms.

With everything else (chips, salsa, etc.) I think I would be stuffed just with the two tacos he couldn't finish.....

sounds fabulous!! And for the record, no self-respecing authentic Mexican place does ground beef. Chorizo maybe, but never ground beef!

With the sulphur, you must pronounce that "EEEWWW?"

Good one!

I would vote for No. 1. With the added ruffage it would lead more quickly to No. 2. :rolleyes1

Well, either way you look at it, you do have a good point!

Never had Ohana for dinner, but it was highly suggested by the boys for breakfast this trip!!! I'll make sure I get lei'ed for you!!! ;)

You do that, Marv!! :lmao:

we made up, were good.

i think you should google that, you are way off...

well im thinking more of, will i ever get a turn to use it, as he has hung it on his closet door with his other disney stuff, so it looks like it is his.
;)

Glad you can still be friends. I'd have to have wierdness on the thread here.

Today, I'm googling how to make a men's cravat. Andrew needs one for our re-enacting weekend!! So excited!!!

So he really did steal it! If he weren't so cute, I'd call him a booger. :lmao:

well even though you dont have pictures of them, you still did say that the pot stickers are your favorite there...which is a good thing, as they really do rule.

They were the BEST!!

as far as the voting i am torn, as i love steamed brocolli, and the seasoning they have on them there is really good...buuuuttttttt

It was pretty tasty, as brocolli goes. Which isn't very, I suppose.

How was that for a little early morning prose?

and that is a big but,

There are already WAY too many of those around here!!
