I just thought of something. You haven't said anything about the My Disney Experience App on your phone. After the talk of Smart Phones and Uber, I'm assuming you have one. It's so much easier to set it up at home and install any updates on your own WiFi instead of relying on hotel WiFi.
I know you have your little paper cards to help you out with schedules and stuff, but the app can tell you about closures and such.
I had a situation on the Naked Jim trip where we had already been on Expedition Everest but I got an email that my FP+ was unable for use as the ride was down. Even though we left the park, I was able to keep checking the app all night and the ride never came back up. If you have a fp+ or just want to go standby on a line, you can determine wait times or if the ride is up without having to walk all the way across a park.
