Usually when my family and I are in MGM we always go to ABC Commissary for lunch. However we are thinking of trying Back Lot Express as a change, so the question is which one would you pick? One factor that I see in favour of ABC Commissary is they are inside and I think Back Lot Express is located outside, so on a hot day in August we might want to eat inside where they have air conditioning.

Neither one, we love Toy Story Pizza Planet!

We always eat at BLE it has a good bit of indoor seating and very good portions .

I'd give Backlot Express a try if you've never done it before. It's kinda cool with all the props. Some of the seating is inside (not sure if it's AC...) but there are lots of fans everywhere and it is pretty much all in the shade.

The food at Backlot is more standard than at the Commissary, but it's still good. :thumbsup2

Consdering the fact we have never been to the Back Lot Express might make us want to try it, so we can do something new. Still if anyone has any more opinions I would love to hear them.

Since you said you haven't been to BLE, I vote for that. Gotta try everything, am I right? Of course I'm right. I'm always right!!! ;) :)

However, I think both are fine. Neither is great or terrible. I'll go to whatever is closest...but I usually eat at 50s PTC, a hotel, or offsite on MGM afternoon/evenings. :)

We enjoy the Commissary better mostly because we have always been able to find seating. Several times we went to BLE we were unable to find a place to sit.

...well this one is about a toss up for me!

We really don't like any CS at MGM. I'd rather take a boat over to the Boardwalk!

We ate at ABC in feb. were really pleasantly surprised. The cuban sandwich was great and they do make a mean batch of fish & chips.

So, you can take the boat from MGM to Boardwalk? We were trying to decide on what CS to eat at MGM but that would be something different to do and I've never been to the boardwalk!! Please let me know.

I would also like to know about the boardwalk option. How much time does it take to get there from MGM? Also, what is the best CS there?

At MGM, the only CS that we enjoy is Starring Rolls.:thumbsup2

The boat probably takes around 20-25 minutes because it's kind of slow and makes several stops. But it's a nice ride especially if you get a good day weather wise. Otherwise it's about a 10 minute walk from MGM to the Boardwalk. There is a path you can follow and depending on how fast you walk it is about 10-15 minutes.
