Abby Girl's Wish Trip MAW/GTKW Pre Trip Report Feb 24 - March 2, 2011

Abby received another BIG GIVE today.

This dress is so adorable. Thank you so much Purpleears, it is amazing. Abby loves it and it fits wonderful!!!

We are loving all the pixie dust that everyone is sending our way!!! We are so thankful to have been chosen for the Big Give, Thank you everyone!!!

I am glad the package arrived there safely! It was a lot of fun to put that dress together and I am happy to see that it fits Abby well! Hopefully Abby will get a chance to meet Lilo - I am sure that will be fun! Thanks for sharing the pictures!

Lenny our dog loves the camera, when he sees me get it out, he will do circles to see who I am taking a picture of and get in the pic.

It has been a busy week and not a great one Abby's teacher decided it was okay if she played a game of kickball, which is on the form of things not to do at recess, well, Abby kicked the ball and felt a pop in her leg. Took her to her ortho dr and there is a spot on the xray, he isn't sure if it is a fracture or not, could be an old one he isn't sure, we go back next Thurs for more xrays. She is doing okay, but once in a while it will grab and throws her into more pain. The worst part is I received no phone call from the teacher or nurse We do not need a fracture one month from Disney. The teacher then says, " So I guess no more kickball?" Ummm NOT there shouldn't have been kickball anyway, last time she played kickball she broke her foot kicking the ball, that is why the form says no kickball........

Sorry just had to vent.

Yikes. I'm so sorry to hear this. I hope everything turns out ok for her. You are right, she doesn't need this to happen a month out from her trip. I'm very surprised the school's nurse didn't call you. Maybe you can go in and speak to her so she can understand how important it is to you for them to contact you when these things happen.

My daughter Tessa has that same "Girl's Rock" shirt that Abby is wearing!

I was surprised to see pictures of Polly Pockets from my sister. That sneaky girl didn't even tell me she was sending anything!

I talked to the nurse and the reason she did not call is because the teacher told her she already had mom taken care of. UGGGGGGGGG This nurse is wonderful, so I was in shock I didn't get a phone call from her.

She got that shirt for Christmas, it is one of her favorite shirts.

Thank you so much. Yes it is very frustrating. There is a reason that she has a list of do not do activites posted on her wall regarding Abby, the most frustrating part is that she lied about it. She tried to blame it on Abby, saying Abby said it was okay if she played this one time. When I asked Abby about it, I knew that her teacher was trying to get herself off the hot seat. That is what makes me the most upset. All I want is honesty and care for my child. I'm sorry I put all that out there, I guess I just needed to vent.

I am sorry to hear about Abby's trouble in the past week. I hope everything is ok based on further X-rays and she won't have any further problems before the trip.

Crissy - thanks for your kind words on the Lilo dress. I am actually thinking about making an adult size version of the dress since I liked how it turned out!

I hope Abby is doing better and it wasn't a fracture of any kind. I have no clue why the teacher would allow her to play kickball. I think I would have needed to vent too.

We were at the ER last night, Abby accidently swallowed a penny. We are now waiting for the penny to escape her body. Daddy is staying home with Abby today, lucky him he is on penny dute While we were there, I asked them to xray her back to, to see about the pain in her back. Well we have new compression fractures. I am calling her ortho today and see what he wants to do.. Please pray that my little girl gets a little break from the pain

I'm so sorry she's still in pain...Hopefully the ortho will have some answers for you soon so she can be pain free or at least reduce it dramatically.

I am trying to see the penny...is it the 'line' going horizontal towards the bottom? I am terrible at reading xrays...and I'm going to school for Nursing!!! LOL!

Wow what a crazy time you all have been having.... I hope that she didn't have a fracture & that she gets some relief from the pain!!! POOR KID!!!

I love kids. It's always such a mystery why they swallow things. I remember my brother swallowed a bingo chip once. My poor parents rushed him to the hospital to make sure he was ok (everything turned out ok). When they asked why he did it 'I dunno know'. I hope she passes the penny without any problems.

I'm also hoping that everything turns out ok with the compression fractures.
