studying for the CPA exam makes me want to pull my hair out and scream! :furious: :headache:

and this is only the first part of four. ay yi yi!!!

Just wanted to say YOU CAN DO IT!!! I took the CPA exam in 1996 when you still needed to take all four parts at once (don't know if that's changed) and studied like a maniac for 6 months and took the review course and passed all 4 parts at once

The best thing my DH did for my morale was to plan a weekend getaway when the exam was over. I looked forward to it for months as my reward for surviving the exam. all the effort is worth it to never, ever have to take the exam again.

GOOD LUCK

Thanks for the good wishes! That's such a great accomplishment that you passed all at once, especially when you were forced to take all the parts at once. They changed the requirements and the exam a lot. The exam is now on the computer, encompassing four parts that you take at separate times. I'm taking Financial next month (Auditing, Regulation, and Business follow that in the coming months). There are multiple choice testlets for each exam, and then simulations that include some sort of writing portion (an example is writing a "memo' to a company requesting information on how to account for the early extinguishment of debt).

Now, in most states you need 150 credits to sit for the exam (NY switches to that in 2009) but in NJ, the legislature passed a law that you can sit before you have 150 but in order to be certified you need 150 credits. I don't think other states have that.

I'm taking the review course too. All the homework problems and practice exams they give are great!
