AAAAAHHHHH!! No more Figaro Fries!!

Ok... I.... seriously, what's so great about *cheese* fries? They're just cheese fries. You can get cheese fries anywhere. Is it b/c they have lettuce and tomato? Don't you think they'd add that if you asked real sweet and batted your big pretty peepers at them? (and maybe paid them like $.99 or something?) And I'm *sure* you can get a side of ranch...

so, really... this isn't like a major crisis... :hippie:

:rotfl: :lmao: :rotfl2:

This is not a joke! Yesterday April 26th was the last day they served them!!:sad2: :sad2:

Ryan from Chicago overheard me telling the girl taking my order how bummed I was that I waited 5 months to try them, and was there on the 23rd, but they were already closed, and now they didn't have them anymore!! So he told me to wait a few minutes and he came back with an order and told me that I was officially the last person to get Figaro Fries!

They still have them on the menu, but they are just cheese fries with bacon bits. The ones that Ryan had made were absolutely awsome, but I can't believe that they were the last ones they served! Thanks Ryan for making the extra special effort so that I could try themat long last!:thumbsup2 :thumbsup2

Karen

 please say it ain't so

:sad1: :confused3 What is going on!!! This is just sad, sad, sad! We loved them and were defintely going to get some in Sept.

Cheese fries are still full of love! :thumbsup2 They can keep their healthy lettuce and tomato. Psh! :lmao:

Ok, I'm obviously in the minority here...but what are these and where did you get them???? :confused3

I feel like I did the first time I read about the Dole Whips! And yes we were totally missing out!!!!

Perhaps you can ask to get them made the "old way." I wouldn't think it would be terribly difficult to get lettuce, tomatoes, and ranch on top of them?

I'm sure they didn't get rid of any of the items that made them so special.

Are you kidding? You must have missed the thread about the hot dog buns at Casey's...

We'll see what people report about trying this. A PP said the CM said they were getting the "last" order of Figaro Fries.

You're right - you can get cheese sauce with fries at other CS locations in the MK. But the fries also had bacon bits as well as chopped tomatoes and shredded lettuce. I have a feeling that they are probably not going to stop the frenzy in the back of a CS location at 12:30pm to dice tomatoes, cook and chop bacon and shred lettuce because someone batted their eyes.

Why not just ask for a side of lettuce and tomato (you might have to pay a little extra, but worth it)...I am sure they still have ranch dressing since they serve salads...ask for some and BINGO...you have your Figaro Fries...I am sure they would not mind.

Okay, I must be the only one who has never had these, or even heard of them (and I go to Disney yearly). Can someone please post of picture of them so I can drool over what I missed out on, and maybe figure out a way to create these at home?

As the OP mentioned, they already have bacon on them (just not the lettuce tomato and ranch)...who cares if YOU have to actually cut up the lettuce and tomato yourself if you order it on the side...no, I do not expect them to do it, I am perfectly capable...and I am SURE you can manage to get a side of ranch dressing without much hassle...sometimes you just have to put forth a little of your own effort to get what you really want.

Amen, my... er... person who is either brother or sister!! :hippie:

I guess I partially don't see what the big deal is b/c I'm fine w/ just cheese and bacon on my fries, and b/c since I already order my burger plain, if I *wanted* to order a side of lettuce and tomato for my fries, it wouldn't bother me to do so.

And, yeah, I did miss the thread about the buns at Casey's. Guess I'm not down w/ the Disney food crises...

I don't have a photo of them -- I know I've seen them on the DIS before, tho.

They are crazy easy to make at home, and you can even go the extra mile to make them a bit healthier, too.

Funny, I don't really like bacon/cheddar fries, but I did enjoy these Figero fries at WDW. I enjoy them even more at home without the cheese sauce.

Basically cook yourself up some french fries. I actually found my generic grocery brand to be free of PHOs (partially hydrogenated oils), high fructose corn syrup and quite low in calories and fat on the realistic serving size than other national brands of fries. Bake them according to package directions -- go a bit on the crispy side, as the toppings will sog them up a bit.

You're going to want to top them with the following: Chopped lettuce, chopped and seeded tomato, cheese sauce, ranch dressing and bacon bits. I put my liquids right on the fries, top with the veggies and then finally the bacon bits. Any of these things are really optional. I don't use the cheese sauce at home. I also use the freshest light ranch dressing I can find. Again, as few chemicals and garbage in it as I can find (generally in our chilled organic section of the grocery). I'm also a huge fan of the turkey bacon -- no slimy "fat" parts of the bacon. It's perfect for crumbling, as there's virtually no waste and about a third of the saturated fat as pork bacon.

Top all that stuff on your fries. Voila! Figero fries!!!

I make a huge platter of them, and put A LOT of veggies on them. They serve as our starch and veggie with whatever protein I serve with them.

Honestly, you can make 'em better at home than WDW used to do :thumbsup2

But between the buns at Casey's, the menu changes at CHH and now PVH, um, the pickins are getting kinda slim there on the Main Street/HM/Fantasyland Loop. Why can't they pick on another area of the park to mess with the menus?

They are easy to make at home and my fries are a little sturdier/crunchier than Disneys' so they hold the toppings better.

On the flip side, you can't look down on Small World from my kitchen!

I have been eating Figaro fries for over 20 years and feel as if I have lost a friend.

No lettuce? No tomatoes?...No Ranch? You might as well give me Tinkerbell with no pixie dust, or Stitch with only 2 arms.

It is not that individual ingredients that made Figaro fries what they were...it was the ingredients as a whole put together.

Sorry, I must now go and cry myself to sleep.:guilty: :sad2:

I just got back and never got a chance to try them. I would've eaten them with the lettuce and ranch but I'm not fond of tomatoes. I'm much more into the cheese and bacon with ranch or even cheese, bacon and bbq sauce!!!

I'm sorry for those of you who are going to miss them but like a PP said, you can always do what you have to and try to recreate it.

I'm sorry for those of you that will miss a "treat" you loved so much, but those looked so unhealthy in the pictures I have seen. I'm sure many local eateries would be happy to alter their cheese fries to resemble the Figaro Fries, and it would be much less labor intensive on them, as they don't do the volume disney does.

I am all for healthier options in the parks, and taking things like those icky looking fries off of the menu and maybe adding a healthier option works for us. I'm sorry if it doesn't work for everyone, but, someone here did post a recipe on how to do it at home if you choose to.

They don't know to leave good enough alone...

They still have the cheese and bacon on them so not healthier at all. :confused3

Thank you Plutoluvr for posting your healthier version of Figero Fries. I found out about Figero Fries since my last visit and wanted try them but was a little worried about all the fat and colesterol. Now I can't wait to try these this weekend !
