Already have AAA rate for moderate in December. Called to investigate Passholder rates, which CM claims are out. Interesting in that the AAA rate was $100+ less than Passholder for 12/8 to 12/14. In all the years we've been going never had this happen before. CM was puzzled too. Do you think he got it wrong?

I've noticed that often the passholder's rate is for an upgraded room. So this may be the difference?

I had this happen to me during our May trip and only thing I could figure out was the rate season changed mid trip and for some crazy reason GP rate was better than AP rate.

It is not uncommon for AAA to provide the best discount at hotels.

I experience the same thing when staying at Starwood hotels (i.e., Swan & Dolphin), the AAA rate is better than the discounts Starwood offers even their best customers.

Seems silly to me too that for less than $100, AAA is the best discount a hotel offers.

in my case it was general public code that was better than AAA or AP rates

I've moved this thread to the Discount Codes and Rates board. :)
