AAA versus Disney booking

If anyone needs the name of the AAA agent I use, and she is very knowledgeable, let me know and I'll PM her contact info. to you, other Dis'ers have used her with great success. We've booked 4 times with her and have had great trips as well as saving up to $200.

I'm new so I can't PM you but I'd love that name and number. The AAA TA that I spoke with didn't offer any discounts :confused3 TIA!

Wow, I am amazed at the problems people have had trying to get AAA discounts! I must be spoiled because I found my agent here on the DIS and she is amazing. She knows all of the rack rates and seasons off the top of her head and knows what the AAA rate should be. She'd know immediately if we weren't getting the right rate. She never applies insurance without confirming that you want it, and always give us a breakdown of the price so you can see the AAA discount on the rooms as well as what the rack rate is through WDTC for comparison. It seems like too many people unknowingly have insurance applied and then wonder why they didn't get the AAA discount. That or the agent doesn't know what the rates should be in the first place so they assume whatever price they pull up is right.

My advice is to steer clear of those local offices unless you know the agents well and are confident in their Disney knowledge. You don't have to book locally! Use the resources available to you here on the DIS to find an AAA agent who really knows Disney.

Care to share the name of your agent? I need HELP! Thanks!

I booked a trip for May which includes my mom who has AAA.
We are DVC members and have the DDP, mom needs some tickets..does AAA have discount on tickets only?

The TA themselves doesn't offer the discount. It is a deal Disney has with AAA to offer a room discount to it's members. (I think it is around 10%).

Now that you have 10 posts you should be able to send and recieve PM's.

I understand that but the price they offered was much the same from Disney direct with no promo, that can't be right can it? I have read that others say one TA from another can be much more informed.

No it can't be right but maybe they weren't comparing exactly the same thing. Insurance which can be a couple hundred dollars is automatically added and sometimes even when you tell them (even tell them several times) they forget to take it off before quoting you. Disney website automatically adds it but later in the process. I would suggest calling aaa again or possibly a different aaa office and getting requoted and ask them to tell you again exactly what is included and make sure it is truely exactly the same thing. It is possible that the aaa rate wasnt available the whole time.

We have AAA room only held at the CR this March. We are planning to upgrade to a package with dining and a 1 day base ticket. I am trying to get a price on the package but CR is sold out for our week, so the only time I can get a price is if I upgrade. I'm not sure whether to go to AAA and book through them or just do DTC and make sure it's done properly. I have a garden wing standard view room held right now. Does anyone have a package like this booked and would be willing to share their price?

Well, I spoke to a CM at DTC and she converted my room only to a package and told me to take this number and visit my AAA office. She told me that they will add the correct code and I should be able to save more $$. So far my package is $3773 which I was happy with. I thought it would be $50-100 more. If I could save another $200 through AAA, I'd be thrilled.

aaa discount off delux in march is 10% off the room portion of the package. I dont know which room you have but you should be able to use that info to figure out what the discount should be.
