To anyone who has used AAA Travel to make vacation plans...

Have you used the "Run of the House" room reservations?

We're planning a trip to the Atlantis Resort, and when we went to get price quotes today, the agent gave us prices for the three different towers. She said they were booked as "run of the house" rooms - meaning, the price was for the cheapest possible view (technically terrace, actually parking lot), but that there was a chance it could be upgraded. No guarantees, but a chance.

My question: Is this a standard AAA perk? Has anyone ever used it, either at Atlantis or elsewhere?

I'm curious as to whether it's one of those AAA benefits or if it's just something they offer at Atlantis. I'd also like to know if anyone has ever gotten really lucky and ended up with a magnificent view with "run of the house."

Thanks a lot!

"Run of House" is a term used widely in the travel industry, especially when special rates are involved. It basically means whatever they want to give you. I used to do tour packages to Atlantic City and Las Vegas, we usually got the standard room but sometimes got a better view if we asked and it was available.
