AAA perks at Walt Disney World

when you get a membership- is it for only one person in the family? or is it the whole family if you need a tow, like if my dh needs one,or I do?
what does add a a member mean? or is it per car?

It's only for one person. You could add your DH to your membership.

Can someone clarify for me . . .

to watch the AAA storytime, do you have to book your package through AAA or just be a AAA member?

Thanks!

while not 100% sure, I think the storytime is when you book a package, not the room only AAA. We book room only all the time and never receive any extras from AAA like the parking pass some have mentioned or the storytime. We have never booked a package through AAA tho, to verify that we would for sure have gotten those extras...but so many have mentioned them I am sure they are offered.
We have used our AAA card only to receive a 20% discount on food and non alcoholic or specialty drinks at the non-signature restaurants at the S/D and Earl of a Sandwich...we have also used it at Universal for 10% at certain restaurants. You can also use your AAA for 10% at Payless, and there used to be a discount at Target on line, but not sure if that is stil offered. I just sent my check to renew our membership, so I will have the current info in the mail soon. You can always call your local club and ask anyquestions, I have alsways been helped efficiently with any questions I have had.

Do AAA discounts stack with Disney discounts?

no, you can't stack. We booked thru AAA the first time we went to WDW. About a month before our trip free dining came out for the public. So, AAA transferred our package to the public code for free dining. We still saved money but we could not get the AAA package discount at the same time.

We've booked tours using the AAA discount without having booked a AAA package.

We've booked our last two trips with AAA, each were packages not room only and we booked each time before a great deal or pin came from Disney. Last year we booked before the 4/3 was introduced and our AAA TA was the one who kept calling Disney to see if we qualified for the deal and it was confirmed that we did. This year we booked and then my husband got a pin from Disney and we called our AAA TA (same from last year) and she in turned called Disney and she had that pin applied to our package. First time we saved over 500 dollars and this year the pin saved us additional 250 over what the AAA package was already saving us.

I'll never book a trip directly thru Disney again - our AAA TA specializes in Disney vacations so and she's been several times herself so she's very much qualified. I've even passed her name on to friends and they've used her with the same success that we've had. She's what we call in our home our Disney Gem.

I have my AAA paper work right here in front of me and so when you book a package thru them you get dining percentages off at select Disney eateries, percentages off of selected recreation activities like 15% off of Richard Petty Driving Experience, golf, Sea Raycers boat rentals and ect. Percentages off Spa treatments at the Grand Floridian and Disney's Saratoga Springs Resort & Spa, percentages off merchandise - 10% off at the World of Disney store at DTD Marketplace (with a purchase of $75 or more) 10% off Arribas Brothers store at DTD Marketplace, one of my personal faves is 15% off purchases at Basin located at DTD Marketplace. 15% off of select tours in Theme Parks and 10% off automotive repairs and tires at AAA Car Care Center.

Plus if you're driving your car to and from the Parks you get to park in the Diamond section reserved for AAA members only.

How do you go about booking a reservation through them? By phone?? It seems AAA travel agents are hit and miss. Can anyone use the person you did Goofy'slady or is it a regional thing?? Does everyone retain complete control of their reservation? That is important to me if I decide to switch a room location request etc. And I'll go ahead and ask since we're on the Budget Board - what is the lowest price you can get the membership for?? Thanks!!

Yep. I got a quote from AAA yesterday, and they said that you have book the dining plan through them to get the storytime.

I just rebooked our fall Free Dining trip through them. (We had booked directly through Disney with a bounceback offer.) Looking forward to the Diamond Parking, AAA Storytime, and any other perks they offer!

One other thing in our paperwork is a new "preferred" location for viewing the 3pm parade at MK. I think it's by the train station?

Yes, on the 2nd floor from what I've read. Sounds like it has to be reserved in advance.
