Hi,
I'm confused about the AAA WDW Park tix discounts. I went on their website looking fo a 5 day/PH option Ticket. They're asking for $271.51, that's actually MORE than what WDW charges?!! Where's the discount? Am i doing something wrong? Thanks:confused3

Did you add tax to the ones on the Disney Site? What state are you looking at for AAA, I don't think all state off the discounted tickets?

Thanks for the quick reply!! We're in MA.

Unfortunately, I don't know if MA AAA offers discount tickets or not. You could probably call the number on the back of your card and a rep can tell you. I am in AL and can get disocunt tickets in GA, but I don't think the regular park tickets are discounted in AL.

The amount on the Disney site does not include tax. Sales tax + resort tax is 11.5% (per my local Disney store). Per my (KY) AAA, the $279.10 price in their brochure already includes tax.

Where do you get the resort tax? I have never seen that added, except on to the room price.

The final ticket prices on the WDW website do not include the resort tax -- that is only for resorts. The tax rate for tickets and merchandise purchases is somewhere between 6.5 and 6.75 percent.

For example, an adult 6-day MYW ticket is $225 before sales tax (which is $14.63) which makes the final price of this ticket $229.63 -- which does not include a resort tax of 11.5%.

so it's cheaper to buy it BEFORE we check-in??

I think I may have confused you. :)

If you're asking is it cheaper to buy your tickets from the WDW website ahead of time in order to save the resort tax, there is absolutely no resort tax associated with ticket purchases. The poster who said there was given the wrong information.

In order to find the best deal on tickets ahead of time, I would recommend purchasing from your local AAA office or the AAA website (if you belong to AAA) or from a reputable WDW ticket seller such as www.undercovertourist.com I've purchased tickets from both and have been happy with both places. Undercovertourist has free shipping and their prices include the sales tax -- so there are no surprises at check-out.

Hope this helps! :goodvibes

I just looked at AAA site and there are lot more options now for tickets than last summer when I bought. I saved about $20/ticket last year but at the time all that was offered were 5 day/park hopper/non expiring in MA.

Now my Sister in VA - had all the options ordering, and not the savings.
