What do you think would be more inexpensive...booking a trip through AAA or directly on the Walt Disney World web site? This is really weird, but I have asked the local AAA agent to price out a trip for me twice...and she never gets back to me! So, I'm tempted to just book the trip on waltdisneyworld.com but I don't want to pay a whole lot more!!!

:dance3: The AAA agent gave me the same price as WDW TA on the phone,
I did it my self cheaper with the codes on the mouse saves .com
site, leaving MAY 16
have fun:grouphug: princess:

If you are just booking a room (not a package) you can call WDW, and if there are room with the AAA discount left they can give you that discount.

I would say do it yourself. There have been many posts lately about how AAA has screwed up the Disney reservations then won't get back in touch with the guest to try and fix it. Search the boards and you'll see what I'm talking about.

i found it cheaper to do it myself for the land/sea deal around easter.. i know you may get little perks at mk with aaa but i saved about 200.oo and just felt it wasn't worth aaa at that time.. i did also call wdw several times and seemd like i got better reuslts each time i called ... have fun

We always book our trips ourselves, because we like being in full control of everything.

I always book through my AAA agent, but I also micro manage her. I provide her with the codes, when I walk in I have a sheet with all the prices I can get without her help, she has to beat it.

Unfortunately I don't think booking a WDW trip is something you can just hand over to any TA and have confidence that you are getting the best deal. So, I micro manage. May drive her nuts, but it's my $$$$'s.

My AAA office is great so I have no complaints there.

You can check your phone book for "Authorized Disney Planners" or "Earmarked Agencies" and see if they can help.

I am not a big fan of booking through the Disney website. I have had good experiences with the Disney reservation number but have found the reservations through the website to be very inflexible if you need to change anything -especially if you're going at a busy time. I did it once and will never do it again.

I used AAA once but have found as I became more familiar with the "Disney" way, that it's just as easy and cost effective to call Disney directly. Now, I will admit that if I encounter a less than knowledgeable CM OR if I feel they aren't interested in getting me the biggest bang for my buck, I wouldn't hesitate to call again to get another person. My experiences with phone CM's has always been pleasant but, just like any job, some CM's are better than others. I think you have to have a good idea of exactly what you want, too. Happy planning!

If the AAA agent you called is not returning your calls, please call another agent. You do not need to use the one closest to your house at all. My agent is pretty good in general. She knows Disney.

I am saving close to $400 off a trip to the Polynesian in July (8 nights, 9 days hoppers, DDP, 5 people) when there are not other discounts available, and last year, we saved over $300 on a similar trip to the Poly. I got quotes from Disney first and then called my AAA agent. Mind you, I did this in January and we're going in July, so it was several months out, but there are significant savings possible.

If you book a room only, you can do that through Disney and get an AAA discount applied, but you cannot get tickets or the DDP that way. If you want tickets and the DDP with that AAA room discount, you need a package, and only an AAA agent can get you the AAA rate.

But AAA rates need to be booked fairly well in advance because there are only a select number of rooms at each resort and of each type available with the AAA discount. Anyone who gets the same price quoted from AAA as they get quoted from Disney is not getting the AAA discount applied to the room portion of the package.
