Hi. Our family was on 2/19-2/22 Wonder. I wanted to let all you AAA members know (if you haven't cruised yet) about the refillable soda mug AAA promises you when you book your cruise through them.

The AAA mug is NOT the same refillable mug that Disney sells. The Disney refillable mug is a really colorful mug with pictures of the boat (if I remember correctly), and it has a handy carrying strap. The AAA mug is blue and white (no strap) and doesn't even say Disney Cruise Line anywhere on it. All it says is "Compliments of Your AAA/CAA Travel Agent"

While it was nice to get the benefit of free soda (only used it 2x on 3 day cruise) & it is a functional mug, using the AAA mugs made us feel like 2nd class citizens. I swear we were the only 5 people on board with AAA mugs!!! Our AAA TA led us to believe that AAA would be providing us with the regular DCL mug. I wish I had known before. The main reason we booked with AAA was for the mugs but it's not really much of a perk or souvenir, IMHO.

Sorry about the disappointment. On our first cruise, we booked with AAA, and our mugs were blue also with the compliments remark. The blue on ours was Mickey heads though, so it still looked nice. And then I'd say that about 25% of the mugs or more were AAA so it didn't really stand out.

If you get the AAA mug for pop you do not have to carry your mug around!!

You get a little sticker on your KTTW card and all you have to do is show that.

Go to guest services for stickers it is sooo much more convienent than lugging a big mug around with you.

Hmm. I was perfectly aware that the AAA mugs would advertise the AAA company. I don't remember exactly how I knew that. The point is that you get the free sodas (not a very big perk, in my opinion). If you want a pretty mug, they're also sold in Mickey's Mates.

I'm pretty sure that the Disney mugs didn't come with straps automatically -- they were an extra couple dollars.

Last year we turned in a voucher from AAA on the ship and were given the DCL mugs. I hope they do this as well this year when we cruise. - Mike

with the almost $1000.00 diffrence I got from booking with Costco instead of AAA, if I want soda that bad, I will just buy it!! Do I understand that soda is free during the sit down lunches and dinners?

Yes pop is free at sit-down meals.

Every night our waiter made us our favorite drink. 7up with Cherry Grenadine. They were sooo good, no charge. My aunt like cherry coke so they did the same for her with coke instead.

I was glad to have the AAA mugs on our seven day cruise. It definitely saved us money. On our cruise there were lots of families with them.
