I have some questions. When booking a WDW trip with AAA, do you use the AAA website or the WDW website with an AAA code? Can you do it online or do you need to call? How soon can I book a trip for next June? Can I do it before I get the actual AAA membership? I plan on purchasing membership, but would rather wait until right before our trip. Thanks for taking the time to answer...... :goodvibes :goodvibes :goodvibes

You need to be a AAA member to book a trip with the discount. Both AAA and Disney would ask for your membership number at the time of reservation. Many hotel chains will also do the same.

If you wish to book "room-only", you do not need to go thru you local AAA TA. You can call Disney and make the ressie yourself and receive the room discount.

If you wish to book a package, you must go thru AAA. No other TA nor Disney can book a AAA package.

Some AAA regions have online booking. Mine (mid-Atlantic) does not. However, I can request a quote online and then book over the phone if I want to.

You can book rooms for 2006 but I'm unsure about the packages. My own inclination would be to book room-only right now and upgrade to a package when/if something better comes along such as free dining or "pay-for-3-get-the-4th-night-free". There's no guarantee that will happen but booking a package will cost you more for a deposit (approx. $200 per ressie) as opposed to room-only (the equivalent of one night's stay).

I booked a AAA room only reservation with my TA at Magical Journeys. She did ask for my AAA account number so you do have to be a member at the time of booking. And of course I will need to show my card at check-in. I got 15% off at POFQ and AKL for summer of 2006. While it isn't a super discount, it is good to have.

Of course I know I have to buy a membership, I just wondered if I needed it for the booking. What phone number do I use to call AAA for reservations - anyone know? :sunny: :sunny: :sunny:

Well I have had a room only AAA rate booked for Nov. I booked it back in April. I did not have to have a AAA number to book it! My mother also called and booked and wasn't asked for her AAA number either. Just told she must have it for check in. My mother has since had to cancel her trip because of some health issues in the family however I have since ( just last week) upgraded mine to a dining package. I did have to have a AAA number to do that. But not for holding my room only. I am sure it depends on who you get of course! And of course I had to have my AAA number at check in but back in April I was still holding out hope of a discount code and didn't want to purchase the AAA if I was going to be able to get a code. I have since given up on the code thing and purchased the AAA and booked the dining!

I'm another person who booked a AAA package thru AAA without having a membership (I booked during AAA's Disney promo in January.) She didn't ask for one any of the 15 times we talked. I just my membership as our final payment is due in mid-October.

Also, when I talked to Disney about making my mom's reservation, they didn't ask for the number either. The CM just said that my mom would have to show her current AAA card at check-in.

LisaRay - I have some ???s....
When you finally gave up on codes and purchased the AAA rate with dining, did you have to also include tickkets or were you able to just book room and dining with AAA?
Also - what # did you call??? :bitelip:

Well, I'm not LisaRay but I can help you with a few of you ?'s.

In order to get dining, you have to get at least 1 ticket for each person on the package. You can get just a 1 day MYW pass if you are already an AP holder or have tickets already.

I would call your local AAA office and ask for a quote. If they ask for a membership number, just mention that you are trying to decide whether or not a membership would be worth it for you and are planning on getting a membership if the package price sounds good.

go to aaa.com. You'll find the 800# -they will be happy to answer ALL of your questions.
Good Luck.

It must depend on the TA then because ours asked the first day we sat down with her for our AAA card/number.
As far as booking, you can book now for next year and, as long as you haven't paid off your trip, if a "special" comes up, you will get your package at that price. This has worked for us in the past. You still have to pay by the 45 days out or whatever that magical number is but if the "special" comes along before that - BONUS~! And believe me, our TA watches for us and we watch too!
