Does anyone know how many AAA discounted rooms are available at any of the resorts? Or, I guess the more important question, how quickly they are used up? We're not going til June '09, but are making ressies now. They don't have the '09 room rates or discounts available yet so I'm planning on calling back when they're available. We'll be staying POR 4 nights/ BC 4 nights, and don't want to blink and miss the discounted rooms when they're available. How safe am I?:confused3

They're only discounted if you book ROOM ONLY through Disney. However, just go to your local AAA office - they usually do have some sort of savings, if you're lucky. I book through Disney direct and they were $700 cheaper than AAA.

I thought this was the case as well, but I was just at the local AAA travel office last week, and the girls I was talking with told me that they could book an entire package.

I had her price it out for me including hotel, hoppers, and dining, and we can save almost $800 booking through AAA.

Right, if you book your package through AAA. Disney will only give you a AAA discount on room only. But like I said, just make sure and price. Disney beat out AAA for me by $700!!

OK - I gotcha now. I did call DIsney direct and was told exactly what you said. AAA discount on room only.

I wound up pricing the trip three different ways - on the phone with Disney, online with Disney, and through the local AAA travel office.

For this trip, booking through AAA will save us $768, for the same hotel, tickets and dining plan.

Last trip, AAA save us a few hundred bucks, even though we got a code via postcard a few days before leaving. I called Disney directly but, AAA price was still cheaper.

Now a few years ago, this was not the case. Booking through Disney was around $300 cheaper than AAA.

Just goes to show, you need to research each time.

Right, I know. I'm just curious to know if anyone knows how many AAA discounts are available??:confused3 I'm going in June when other discounts will probably be scarce, so I want to make sure to at least get the one from AAA. We're not planning on doing a package, so I don't need the AAA TA to book it for me. Anyone know how quick those discounts are used up?

I don't know the numbers.

But I originally booked the Contemporary LAST August for this August with the AAA discount. There were no "standard view" rooms to be had (even w/o the discount; I guess it's all the construction.) BUt I had no problem booking a Garden View room through AAA.

So if you're looking to book anytime soon, you should be fine.

But last year at least, the new prices didn't come out until mid August. If you know the resort you want and the change in prices won't bother you, book ASAP just for the peace of mind. But if the new numbers could push you into Moderate range, you have a few months yet.

Thanks for the info Aliceacc! I know we want POR/BC for a split stay, so I think I'll book soon just so I know I have the rooms. As far as prices, they already scare me:scared1: ! Hopefully AAA will help with the sticker shock, just a smidge.:)
